Best idea for lunch on Saturday. The lemonade is fantastic, not too sweet and not too sour.

Well I was turned to this place as a friend would not stop talking about it and being a foodie I had to try it out. At first I was excited to find a new hole in the wall great place so my wife and I went and tried it. In fact I tried multiple sandwiches because I wanted to see what was best out of their meat selection, I wanted to love this place so bad but I felt everything was super wet and lacked in flavor. The Turkey and Ham was or seemed cut from a compressed block of meat that was tucked away in a smoker or heated drawer of some type it was not like real hand Carved turkey or ham more like ham in a can. The Beef had the best flavor and the pork came in second but still very bland and wet. In a nutshell $ 5 for a sandwich eh is ok I could eat two of them to fill me. Would I come back again? Only if I was in the area and wanted a quick bite. Would I rave to others about it probably not.

This place is the very definition of mediocrity. I’ve lived in Texas and Mississippi where BBQ is a religion — I’ve tried and loved a wide array of styles. Pecorino Bills style is, well, I don’t know what to call it. It’s not really BBQ. The«sause»(their spelling) is thin, bland, and a beige color not unlike the water you might get from a can of Pinto beans. The spices, which are largely absent, are not readily identifiable. Look, I am not a food snob. I love me some Chili Johns. But it is simply incorrect to call this food BBQ. It’s sloppy bland shredded meat on a bun. Perhaps the only bright spots are the cost($ 5), friendly(and fast) service, and the history. But I work walking distance to Pecos Bills and would never go back.

The BEEF sammich is the best! The flavor of the sauce isn’t overwhelming which allows the flavors of the meat to really stand out. The smokiness gives this sammich an amazing flavor… beans are delicious. It’s very authentic food at a reasonable price as well.

I’m not sure what 5 stars is… very subjective. My fiancé grew up eating from here so he was excited for me to try it. I did have preconceived ideas of what BBQ is, but when I saw their sandwiches, I stayed open minded. It’s very good! Yes, do not wear anything you want to keep clean while eating here LOL. I’ve now had the turkey, pork and beef, and like the beef best. The beans… here is where you can decide if I’m a goofball or not… so far I only liked the beans when they were ready to close, maybe making them sort of scrape the bottom of the pot? I dunno, they were thicker and had more concentrated flavor than when I’ve eaten them shortly after they’ve opened for the day. But better this way I’d say! The coleslaw is fine, but again, I like mine a bit sweeter(we all have our personal preferences). Pecos Bill’s is clearly successful, so I’d say give it a try! If you don’t like it, cool, it’s just not your thing, but you’ll never know til you try! If you’re one of those vegetarian, vegan, über health nut… don’t bother, and don’t bother writing a negative review. Just go sit in your corner eating celery and let the rest of us enjoy the food at a non chain, family run little business.

First, put your preconceived ideas about what a pulled slathered pork BBQ sammich(yeah, I said sammich) must and needs to be before your hands cross the window opening for the amazingness that’s about to ensue. Pecos Bills has been serving the the real and most amazing deal when it comes to Okie style BBQ longer than anyone has been serving BBQ in LA and there’s a good reason why, they do it flawlessly. It’s a sloppy messy dripping between your fingers and down your crotch hot mess and there’s no way around it. Yeah, the wet, slippery meat drenching sauce is a much more delicate version of anything you’ve ever had, but ask for spicy and you won’t be sad. Their freshly squeezed tart and barely sweet lemonade is the perfect blend to cool the burning spicy tinge of your slithery sammich. Love that this family gives it all real, every time.

Mediocre food and kind of high prices… Don’t know what all the hype is about. I will try it again and see if the food is better next time.

I wish I could give PB6 stars! Hey you sniveling whiners, this is Okie Style BBQ. They smoke all the meat overnight, beef, pork, turkey and ham. The coleslaw and dressing, beans and lemonade are all homemade. If you’re looking for bottle-type bbq sauce, go elsewhere. Okie style is a light brown bbq sauce with a subtle flavor. For a perfect lunch, order a beef/pork sandwich, beans, coleslaw and lemonade. If you like it more zippy, have them add a little hot sauce. Careful, ‘cuz it’s really HOT. Sandwiches are on a plain hamburger bun. This is a little walk-up joint with sidewalk tables. It’s been in business for over 85 years and there’s a reason for it. Yes, the prices have gone up but where haven’t they? Would you rather have a # 4 McDonalds Combo or real food made by a local family-owned joint started by the current owner’s grandfather? Jay Leno is a regular customer along with people from NBC, Warner Bros, DreamWorks and ABC.

It was $ 5 for a basic BBQ sandwich with your choice of meat. Quick walk up service with outdoor seating. I ordered the pork and it wasn’t as tasty as my friend’s beef. The bread isn’t that great of quality. The sauce was unique. I was a little disappointed they didn’t have cheese or onions or something else to supplement. It was an okay meal but I won’t be returning. I’m curios as to the quality of meat here.

Would be 5 Stars if the price didn’t keep going up every 6 months. Used to be like 3.50 for a sandwich back in the day. They’re so good you need to eat 2 to fill you up… and no im not a big fat dude, just a normal skinny teenager. Just $ 10 for lunch can buy you a lot of food other places only complaint. Other than that, Its by far the best pork sandwiches i’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot, even in the south. Just a whole different kind.

A great no frills sandwich place with ribs on Saturday and Sunday. Owners are very polite and welcoming. Menu could be placed somewhere with better visibility and to go containers would be nice but the price makes up for all of it. Overall tasty place!

Best food EVER! Original flavor food. If you want something that taste like bottle Bar-B-Q sauce from the store, don’t come here! This is unique and original. Unlike any other. I drive 15 or 20 miles to go here. I get the okie pork sandwich and homage lemonade. They actually smoke their meat old school. I have come here since 1968. I just recently started using Unilocal and wanted everyone else to know how good this food is.

I found out they are cash only, just after I made my order. Guess what they did; they gave me my order and told me I can pay them later. Can you believe it?!

Get the BBQ beef sandwich. Get the coleslaw. Sit outside, take a bite and sing the national anthem to yourself in your head. Tremendous

I’ve passed by Pecos probably a few hundred times in my lifetime but never had stopped to grab some BBQ until now. There’s never a line, so I was quite skeptical about ever stopping, thinking it may not be that good. Well, great it is not, but bad it is not either. I ended up with a beef sandwich. To me the beef seemed to be overcooked and ‘kinda mushy, i.e., pulpy. The BBQ in which the shredded beef was bathed, seemed watered down and consequently unseasoned. I think I will just continue driving by…

I don’t understand. I just… how??? Like David M Unilocaled, either you love it or hate it. And maybe you have to grow up eating this kind of BBQ like Vegemite or something. Im still at a loss at how this place stays in business. I support local but… yeesh. At first sight as I opened up the sandwich, the translucent corn starch and meat fat oil based«sauce» had already eaten through the wrapper and I had to peel it away. As my stomach already started to quiver, I reluctantly took a bite. My gag reflex kicked in both from the texture and flavor. To quote another Unilocaler, it was«flavorless slop on a bun». I had huge regrets in choosing this for my moms day out lunch. I googled the term«okie BBQ» just in case I was«missing» the character or draw to this type of BBQ, but nothing came up. The tea had a watery, nondescript taste. That is all. I hate to give a bad review to a place that’s family owned with a lot of history, but this style is just not my cup of tea.

Family favorite. We’ve been coming here for years!!! My favorite is the BBQ beef sandwich. And the coleslaw is delicious. It’s crunchy, not soggy! And the baked beans are also a hit. You will not be disappointed with anything you order. It’s all delicious! You will be back for more.
