I used to go to this place all the time but I had one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. I’m not one to complain but after an hour and a half of watching all fifteen of the other people at the table eat while I just sat there was not fun. My friends ordered sushi of course and I got a dinner meal. They told me after they brought the check that they think they delivered my food to a different table or they just forgot it. Nothing was offered like a speed delivery or maybe a to go so obviously I just left and went to King Taco across the street. I get it, it’s Friday night and it’s busy but to forget someone’s food and not do anything about it, cool dude. Go to Burbank instead if you want octopus, it’s better when it comes to service and good quality. Update: they’re still horrible

This was absolutely the worst service I have experienced at any sushi restaurant. For a company like Octopus, I have had a great experience at the Encino location, but this Glendale location, stay away. We waited longer than our promised«15 minute wait» time to be seated. Ordered Edamame as a appetizer, it did not come until AFTER the sushi. The waitress/waiter did not fill our waters. We had to constantly ask… Wait. what??? The sushi quality wasn’t that fantastic, and no one noticed our soy sauce bottle was empty! I will never return to this location. Stay away.

I love sushi so much… and octopus is my fav place to go eat but not the one in glendale… this octopus just sucks… i came with friends before the closing time the manager stops us in front of the door and says we have to order right away or we cant sit… we said ok we will order right away… then it takes them forever to come to take our order… the sushi was whatever… the way they treat their costumers is horrible… and the manager was so rude and anmannered… Me and my friends give another chance and came to this sushi place again… and of course it takes forever for them to take ur order… half of the workers would just walk around do nothing… we asked for soy sauce the waiter went and never came back… also they dont validate parking so u have to pay for parking if u stay more than 90 min One thing for sure i will never go back to this sushi place again

Loved the food here. Great food and saki! However our waiter was not so that is why I am only giving three stars. I feel bad that the sign said staff needed. So maybe our waiter was overwhelmed. But, if I have had two of my entrees and my wife and daughter have not even got an appetizer, c’mon. I’ll wait and won’t complain if all of us get to eat together. Again. Great food, just customer service needs work.

Jay, one of chefs in the restaurant was cool and knew how to make a good sushi&roll. Our server was friendly. The average quality of food was fine comparing other sushi restaurant around Glendale. Me and my girlfriend ordered bento in lunch and it was valuable meal.

I had the best experience tonight. Gino was my server and he was very swift with getting my orders put in. He kept making sure we were all set and occasionally some of the other waiters would check in too. Great atmosphere, wonderful workers. Definitely recommend trying octopus.

You have to practically beg for water here. Service is ehh… No wait so that’s a plus. Salmon sushi: nice thick piece and the rice is flavorful. Looks a bit dry compared to other salmon sushi from another octopus location. Gyoza: okay. Happy hour here is from 4-closing Monday to Friday which is great since other locations are 830-closing Snow roll: messy and tiny. Ultimate salmon roll: messy and it was falling apart lol. Asparagus roll: refreshing as usual, but of course messy. What I did like about their rolls was the rice. They didn’t put too much so you’re actually able to finish your food without feeling overly full. I know it’s cheap here, but you should at least put a little more effort in your presentation.

I used to love this place. I know they don’t have the best or freshest fish, but it’s cheap, quick, and have happy hour all day Saturday. I think every time I come to this place it gets worse and worse. Both in quality and service. My girlfriends and I came here Saturday night for dinner. Aside from having 3 different waiters and waitress servicing our table the service was still slow! We put in our order and two of the five things we ordered were missing, We brought this to their attention and eventually got those two dishes. The food looked dry as if it had been sitting out for a while ready to be brought to our table and the waiter forgot. We told them to take it back which they did. We placed a second round order for sushi and they took so long with one of the rolls we were over it at that point and didn’t want it anymore. In this case, as great as their happy hours prices are, it’s quality over quantity and I am not planning on coming back here any time soon. The Burbank location, while they don’t have happy hour all day Saturday is better with service and their quality of fish.

Wow Elijah was one of the best servers I’ve had. I don’t come to this location as often as I used to, but now thanks to Elijah, I think this will be a regular dinner location for us thank you for the wonderful service and I hope you end up finishing the story on the prophet Eljiah. It’s the go-to spot for sushi when I get the craving. Happy Hour all weekend? I’m there. Happy Hour 4 – 11 Mon-Friday? I’m there. Staff always greets you when you come in cause they’re all genuinely friendly people. My girlfriend and I always get the shrimp and vegetable tempura to start. Ultimate Salmon, Alaskan, HOT Roll, Red Dragon, Sumo, Lion King, Sashimi Roll, Kara Roll… I could go on with my favorites. Geovanny was our server today. Super cool dude and provided excellent service. They recently revamped the spot so it’s a great atmosphere any time of day. I’ll be back very soon!

So many 5 star reviews. Surprising right? I just overheard the waitress ask people to write 5 star reviews with her name in it for a free dessert. The patron said she didn’t know what to write and the waitress was giving her ideas! Unethical! Funny thing is that they ask certain people too… shady! Please pay careful attention to all the 5 star reviews mentioning specific waiters. Let’s be real here… us reviewers hardly mention waiters in our reviews, especially in a repetitive pattern like this. Guys, there are plenty of REAL reviews indicating this place has bad service. Truth is, this place has deteriorated in quality of service and that makes all the difference in a dining experience and clearly they’re trying to make up for this lack of service is shady ways. Yes the happy hour is good, yes the sushi is cheap but it’s not worth the lack of service and I’m not a knit picker on service. I thought the service was horrible last time I came after a short hiatus so I gave it a second chance and octopus failed to deliver. The first time back, we never had a waiter! Someone told us our waiter was busy and took our order, someone else delivered it and we never had our own waiter so no refills and no service, how can we be expected to tip a waiter we never met? We asked to give our tip to the busboys and person who took our order that had his own section. The second time we wanted to sit at the sushi bar and were told to sit anywhere we like… welp, that’s impossible if the whole counter top is covered in dirty plates and napkins. The restaurant was empty at that! Will not return no matter how cheap the sushi is or how good the deals are.

**THISREVIEWISNOTBASEDONFOODQUALITY** I LOVE this place. I eat here 4 – 5 times a month. Once a week, sometimes two. I absolutely love the food. Especially their lunch Bento box(spicy tuna and Sashimi) BUT they refuse to give me more than ONE packet of soy sauce!!! I don’t understand how they can only give one packet and think it is ok when I order as much sashimi and rolls as I do. When I ask them to make sure that I have a good amount they say I do and when I check, I have ONE packet. This is my only con about this place. Guys… PLEASEREMEMBERMEANDPROVIDEMORESOY. If you are looking for a sushi restaurant with good quality fish, while it being reasonably priced, with the most kind service, Octopus is the place to go. I am always so satisfied with the delicious rolls and the price also never fails to please me. If you dine in during happy hours, the price is excellent especially with the additional 50% dine-in discount on selected items. The cashiers and servers are also very welcoming and kind. Overall, it’s always a great sushi experience.

Came for dinner. Ordered a combination dinner along with the salmon crunch roll and some salmon sushi. Once we ordered the food came out right away and everything was fresh and tasted great. Ryan was really helpful and attentive. He hooked it up with some extra lemon wedges which I always have with my sushi. Definitely my go-to sushi joint.

Lunch on Friday, 1÷7÷16 Parking is located in the structure across from the restaurant. We had a late lunch around 2pm so there were empty tables everywhere. Service was slow although there were only a handful of tables. It’s a spacious restaurant so you won’t have to worry about the tables being too close together. We ordered several dishes off their carpaccio menu. Tuna, Monk fish liver, seared garlic tuna, spicy albacore, octopus, yellowtail, and the albacore carpaccio were all delicious. We also ordered a few of their sushi. You can’t go wrong with salmon; it was good. The uni wasn’t as fresh as I expected but it was still ok. The ginger was amazing! I can’t believe how fresh and crisp it tasted. Also, they give complimentary ice cream for your birthday. If you’re in the area, drop by and try out their food. Service can be slow so flag them down when you need something.

I really don’t like leaving low ratings, but this place has gone downhill. I came here with a friend and we were both underwhelmed. Although the staff is friendly, they forgot a couple of our orders. You can tell by the rushed job they did on our spicy tuna on crispy rice. It was such a hack job that we almost made them take it back. Remember that we eat with our eyes as well. The cucumber salad was so painfully sweet it almost ruined my appetite. It was nearly a candied cucumber salad. The rest of the rolls were just okay. The fish weren’t super fresh but it wasn’t horrible. Even the way they cut their rolls was kind of haphazard. I don’t know if I’ll come back here, or at least not the Glendale location. Maybe in the future I’ll give them another chance.

I have eaten at the Octopus in Burbank before and had a nice experience but this was my first time at the one in Glendale. The place was a little chaotic to be honest… We opted to sit at the sushi bar in stead of waiting for a table since we were starving. The metal foot bar under the counter was broken, so everytime someone sat down and adjusted their feet on it, it would swing up and hit me. Totally random and pretty annoying actually. We got our drinks quickly and ordered a few rolls, sashimi and some fries. or so we thought. Half of our sushi came really quickly and then our chef disappeared for like 20 minutes. No fries… no rolls. My bf and I kept ourselves busy with small talk but I was very distracted by the«hangry» that was quickly growing. Eventually our chef returns and we wait another 15 min for the rest of our rolls. But no fries?! Which I would have thought would have been the first thing to come out? Soon after, they bring us the bill and I inquire about the fries. The sushi chef reported that he had called a waitress over to us to come take our fries order but apparently she ignored him an never came over? Lol … In the grand scheme of things, we didn’t need the fries after all we had eaten but it was pretty poor communication amongst the staff. I also had noticed that the chefs were disorganized and sending orders out to tables that already had gotten their food, etc. It was kind of a mess. Overall, food was good but the experience was meh.

Came in on a Wednesday night after driving from NorCal to SoCal. Waaaaaas going to do take out but decided to checkout their reverse happy hour. *SERVICE: We sat at the bar. The service was great especially since we came in around closing time, they were very accommodating and attentive. The sushi chefs gave us recommendations and the server was quick to bring out drinks. *FOOD: Cali Roll, Sumo Roll, Sensual Pleasure Roll, & Tempura Udon The sumo was my favorite, a little bit of everything. However, it was so big/thin it felt apart fairly easily. I disliked the sensual pleasure(sushi chef’s recommendation), too much deep fried badness. Maybe it’s because we came in right before closing but all the rolls fell apart when eating. I liked their hot sake(I tried the green apple), cheaper due to their reverse HH. If I lived closer I’d be back!
