I lived here during a stay in 2010. My first impressions upon arrival here were very good. There is definitely a great community spirit here with many residents having lived here for a great number of years. In typical fashion for this spot in the world, the apartments are based around a central swimming pool. Of course, this nature of setup in an apartment complex insures that you see your neighbours quite often and nothing helps you get to know somebody more than sitting by the pool on a hot day. Yes, the apartment inside and outside are showing their age, and lots of the parts of the place are looking very run down and tatty now. However, the apartment manager, Ed, is an absolutely wonderful guy and does an amazing job at making the best out of this place and helping it to run smoothly for all concerned. He is always very friendly and professional and very fast to sort out any problems or issues that do arise. There is a coin operated laundry room here. This is another area where a Burchett Apartments falls down. It is a hell of a lot of money to pay to use the washers and dryers to have some breakdown and flood. Once again, Ed is always very quick to arrange repairs and sort out problems in this area, but replacement rather than maintenance should be the solution by now. The prices here are fairly average for the area, however I do feel that there are some better properties that do exist for similar money. Having said this, I am not sure whether you would ever find a nicer bunch of neighbours, nor a better apartment manager. The proximity of this place to local restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets is definitely an asset. As we all know, nobody in LA walks anywhere, but I definitely did my best to block the trend in this manner. The apartments all do seem to vary somewhat in their residual state of décor and repair. Some have wood floor, some have carpet. Many have very different fixtures and fittings, and the bathrooms all seem quite small. There is a real mix in terms of demographic here, which sees all the lovely older tenants mix with first time apartment renters who are eager to party and gets raucous around the pool. I loved my time here at Burchett Apartments and have very happy memories, that will always endure.
