The Americana has many great restaurants but when it comes to getting something quick there aren’t very many. Bronx Boys Pizza and Potato Corner are the only two Savory options unless you’re looking for something sweet such as the crêpe place, Haagen Dauz or Wetzel’s Pretzels. When I’m looking for something quick before I go into work, I’ve gone to Bronx Boys Pizza a few times. The service is pretty mediocre, it’s filled with a bunch a teenagers who prefer to text and finish their conversations with each other before taking your order. The young girl who took my order didn’t wash her hands after handling money then my pizza. That’s really unsanitary on so many levels not to mention their hair is so long it could get in the food or easily touch the counter space. It should be in a bun not ponytail. The food is alright, it’s pretty tasteless. I suggest adding a ton of Red Pepper Flakes for the flavoring. The pizza is way too oily I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack from it. For a slice of cheese pizza it’s a pretty steep price for what you get, $ 4.35 + tax. It’s not worth it unless you’re in a rush.

Bronx Pizza… so promising but such a let down. The Americana is full of lots of restaurants but your options are extremely limited when it comes to a quick and affordable bite that you can take on the go. Unless you are in the mood for something sweet, Bronx Pizza is the only place other than Wetzel’s Pretzels where you can buy something savory. $ 5+ for a slice of pizza is pretty steep if you ask me, but for a good hearty slice that I was anticipating I didn’t mind paying a little extra. Unfortunately this place left a lot to be desired. I wouldn’t say that the pizza was bad, it just wasn’t any good. The toppings were way too heavy for the dough and just lacked seasoning. The sauce was also too plain. I think the best thing was the crust.

First of all when I walk up to the window the employee is on his cellphone. Already I’m feeling its going to be unappetizing. I ordered a pepperoni slice, and a veggie slice to the tune of $ 11.16 I asked for a cup of ice tap water and the employee said they only have bottled water. I told him forget it because I’m on a budget. When the pepperoni slice came out, it was drenched in oil! I thought it was the BP oil spill all over again. The veggie slice was ok. Save yourself some money because this place is a rip off for what you get. Tip– I finally got my complimentary water at the americana Concierge.

hmmm… was roaming around the americana buyin’ big shoes for my big feet, that i don’t need! was hankering a bite and just plodding along. the lawn here at the americana is dotted with like food stands — mostly selling sweet stuff. haagen daz. sprinkles cupcakes. etc. then my friend spotted this pizza joint and said lets go there! slices are like $ 5.50 each. the guy behind the counter said they were big. wow, like a dating profile, i guess everyone really does kinda lie about size! sho’ didn’t look too big to me! we had two slices — a supreme, and a meat lovers. and since pizza to me is fun food i had a side of fries since they had that on the menu too. i like the americana. the place evokes a certain level of quality. but i can’t say unfortunately i loved the pizza. neither did my friend. i purposely never complain about food while eating and only after did i ask him so hey what’d you think– scale of 1 – 5? he said 3.5, and i was thinking 3… that averages to 3.25 which rounds down to 3! so there is the scientifically correct and numerical proof of my rating! the stand looked nice enough, i could see they were busy in back. but i can’t stay the slice was outstanding in any way especially at $ 5.50. the crust was not at all crispy, the whole piece had zero new york style or flavor(and i grew up on queens pizza made by these real beefy italian guys who threw dough up in the air to spin it!). my friend also thought it was a bit soggy. it’s fine as a a slightly expensive food court grab-a-slice of pizza and go food, but unfortunately just wasn’t as filling or fun as i hope it would be and i love discovering new food joints!!!
