*Review is for the restaurant* I’ve had several good meals here. Recently, the ownership situation has been a bit tenuous. The place was put up for auction sometime in July, but continues to operate. So I’ve had both Sunday brunch and a Saturday dinner since then. The food was wonderful at both – the service at the brunch left quite a bit to be desired, but the dinner service was gracious and on point. Both times, the food was terrific. Dinner was especially tasty, with oven-roasted bison shoulder with a pineapple salsa. That dish was wonderfully prepared, with the meat cooked perfectly. Also got to sample the lobster ravioli – it was done as a cheese ravioli with large chunks of lobster in the sauce. It was also great. The lobster bisque appetizer could have used maybe a touch more sherry and seasoning, but it was still generous with the lobster. The housemade bread was yummy as well, and served with a pimiento cheese spread. The room is pretty basic, with mostly round tables set up in the lobby area of the inn, then a room to the back. The floor slopes a bit, so you can’t play marbles, but oh well. It’s kind of an old-fashioned décor, with flowered draperies and prints of birds on the wall(including a print of a crow, which is the Eddie Haskell of birds, but whatever). But this is a charming setting, the facility seems to be well-kept, and the food is very flavorful so it’s worth a trip if you’re in the area and have a yen for something a little different.

My husband and I went to the Inn for lunch and are so happy that it has reopened! We both had seafood and it was very fresh. Presentation and service were a delight. This is a lovely quiet place for a romantic lunch or dinner, gourmet food and a great porch for sitting(once the weather is warmer). We sat next to the fireplace and ate leisurely in an unhurried atmosphere. The lobster ravioli was delicious. We will definitely return soon.

We are so glad the Inn is back open after a few years of being closed. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and dinner here this weekend and only have nice things to say. The food was outstanding, such a warm and charming atmosphere. Walking the grounds and seeing the Inn back to its glory is so heartwarming. It is a great spot for lunch or dinner groups and even an event space for your wedding or private party! Highly recommended!

This B&B is a hidden gem! Two blocks off off the Blue Ridge Parkway from Northwest Trading Post, Mile Post 259. Very old house very recently reopened by long time owner. The property and rooms are immaculate! Our party of 3 were made to feel at home. Rooms all have private bath. Chef and General manager Chris and his family all participate in the business. Food is outstanding. Please ask for the Au Graten potatoes at breakfast! We rode the entire Blue Ridge Parkay and this stop for the night was the absolute highlight of our trip.
