This place is so adorable and Very naturesque. Reminds me of an anthropology, but for plants instead of clothing. It’s always fun to walk around here and get ideas. The prices are outrageous though, Especially since you could make many of the things they sell on your own… for free!

Super cool!!! Defiantly worth checking out. There located in the middle of a shopping area which is strange for a place like this but when you step inside you feel like you step inside the coolest barn in the middle of someone’s field. They did any excellent job of making gardening hip! As you wander through the many things to buy there is a café in the back. It looks like a backyard retreat. Double check their hours before you head out but defiantly worth spending a couple hours of there and let time pass you by.

Brunched here with my family. We received excellent service. The ambience was warm, aesthetically clean, and sung of casual refinement. The food was very good. The meal starts with a buttery, doughy bread served in a clay pot. This bread and it’s accompanying homemade butter was excellent. Everything tasted creamy, rich, and had a soft texture. I ordered the pork belly and eggs entrée. The eggs tasted very gamey in a good way. The pork was beautifully prepared to a soft elegance with fat that would render in your mouth onto the eggs as you encomppased them with your palate. The dish maintained a buttery, savory consistency throughout its vegetables, meat, and eggs. They serve with two slices of brioche that absorbs the greasy fond and yolk in a meritorious fashion. Prices being a bit restrictive for the grade of ingredients served I reccommend, but reserved four stars.

First time visiting Terrain. The atmosphere and décor is very aesthetic and lively. The food is a little pricey but worth it in my opinion. I ordered the crab frittata and my sister ordered the Terrain burger. I regret not getting the Terrain burger because as I heard it’s one of the best menu items. Overall, I loved it and I hope to return soon!

Every time I visit my Mom, we make a lunch date at this place… It’s our treat to ourselves! From the bread, to the drinks, to the entrees — all is delicious!!! Try the cheese platter, and take advantage of the beverage bar.

Went here for my birthday brunch. The place is awesome. Great ambience. The menu has little options but the ambience and setting cover up for it. A must go for folks in PA

I’m giving my current rating based on today’s outing, but would say I’d give this place another chance bc it may have 4 star potential for the area. The venue is pretty. Rustic garden and greenhouse feel that you would expect. The menu looks enticing, the food was good. Not amazing, but a solid good meal. The bread in the flower pot was delicious. Served hot and fluffy. We also ordered the apple fritters, which had a great grain and apple flavor with pieces of apple baked within it. Also a flavorful dipping sauce. The omelet was good, but just an omelet, nothing out of the ordinary. Spaghetti squash interesting time, again decent tasting. The real downfall on this place/just this visit was the service. It was a good 10 mins before anyone came to the table. And overall slow service.

Terrain is absolutely beautiful. The food is delicious. This place should be an automatic 5 stars because of this show stopping convo. However, the staff knocks off a star. Had a 7:15 reservation tonight. Walked up to host stand at 7, and he said in an uptight scripted voice«we’re seating on time this evening…» Basically well seat you in 15 minutes. No problem, there’s a little café you can sit at. I live in center city philly, and have traveled all over. This is the most expensive café I’ve ever been to. I’m shocked that suburban jersey is all good with this price. Guess you pay for the pretty views. After sipping tea approached the hostess stand at 7:12(literally) and the new woman says«yes we’re seating on time so a few more moments.» Um why? Plenty of empty tables. What’s up with this odd punctuality. Terrain adheres to the stuffy, pretentious vibe when they could make the energy in this space amazing. Absolutely no warmth, and you could feel others with reservations feeling the same. For dinner the gnocchi($ 26) is overpriced. Delicious, and fluffy, but expensive. Really enjoyed the appetizer sized scallops with a black rice that had hints of vanilla. Interesting and flavorful. For me the absolute stand out was the tuna tar tar. Crazy fresh, seasoned perfectly, interesting sauce/balsamic combo. This place is a gem, and if the right training was done with staff and the vibe was friendly, hip and approachable instead of the old school«fine dinning» model this place would be a 5 star. Honestly I didn’t see anyone buzzing around the stunning dinning roam smile. Our waitress certainly did not. Bottom line: I wouldn’t go again but I truly enjoyed the experience and would recommend.

My company has had a holiday party at Terrain two years in a row. Last year, I would have rated this place a five — the food was some of the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The portions are small, which is OK in my book if the food is excellent. Last year the food was indeed amazing; this year… The meal options were the same year-over-year: chicken, steak, or gnocchi. I had the steak both times. Last year it was cooked medium-rare; this year, it came out rare(and wasn’t warm, either). Last year’s steak also featured a dash of pureed parsnip; this year it featured mashed potatoes, broccolini, and gravy — a decent meal, but not something I’d rave about. The size of the steak also varied widely from one co-worker’s plate to another. My wife was similarly unimpressed with the chicken, which she felt lacked the same panache that it had achieved the year before. The«potted bread» remained amazing, but last year’s butter had a hint of maple syrup — this year, the butter didn’t even seem to be salted. The mushroom soup was just as good last year as this year, and the salad was similarly good. Surprisingly, most of us from the office thought that the appetizers(a cheese board with bread slices on one hand and meat-skewers with great dips on the other) this year were better than the meal itself. The atmosphere was top-notch, as was the service. But at the prices they charge, I’d expect the meal to be consistently great. It’s been a year; maybe they changed chefs? But it was no longer excellent — just a little above-average. I’m a bit torn between a three– and four-star rating — it gets a four for now; hopefully this gets revised upwards next time.

***Review is for the restaurant*** Friends and I decided to go here for an impromptu dinner. I was able to make a reservation over the phone despite it saying online that there were none for the time I wanted. I know they change they’re menu quite often but apparently they don’t update their website because I was sad to see the Terrain burger was not on the menu when I arrived(despite it being online). No matter. I’d figure something else out. I decided to order two small plates as my entrée, while both of my friends went with the chicken and bread pudding entrée. I got the mixed green salad with pomegranate seeds, blue cheese, walnuts, peaches and a balsamic vinaigrette($ 12) and the scallops with wild black rice in a creamy reduction sauce($ 16). The salad was… a salad. Good enough and over priced. The scallops were excellent! The chicken breasts my friends had were really tasty and succulent. They were mixed on the cranberry bread pudding. Overall nice experience. We enjoyed our BYOB wine and skipped dessert. Ambiance and décor is magical! A really romantic place. Would love to go back.

Absolutely LOVE Terrain! The greenhouse restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and the décor is pristine every single time I visit. Although most dishes are reasonably priced, the dinners are usually pricier than brunch and lunch plates. However, the quality of the food is well worth the money that you are paying for. The change their menus every now and then, so there is always something new to try! I highly suggest their lamb burgers that they usually have on their lunch menu. Very filling and absolutely delicious. Go with the sea salt caramel latte for dessert

Love love love. Sometimes I like to pretend I have a green thumb and all that jazz… but let’s be real, I can’t keep any plant alive. Thankfully, Terrain has fake ones which fits the bill for me! I came here primarily to spend time with a friend and have brunch. As soon as I walked in, I was overwhelmed by how beautiful and so ANTHROPOLOGIE everything was. It was screaming Anthropologie. Silly me, I didn’t realize it was actually the same company until I left the place and looked it up in the parking lot =P We had a reservation for 2, which they were able to accomodate us when we specifically requested to be seated in the greenhouse. The weather was a little gloomy so unfortunately it wasn’t too bright, but it was still pretty inside. Their bread that is baked in a flower pot is PHENOMENAL. It was so soft, with a subtle sweetness. Add the sweet butter and I was in carb heaven. We both got the crab frittata, my friend who has celiac disease, had to substitute her potatoes for more salad. It would have been nice if they could have given her something else, because who really wants more salad? I also had a cappuccino, which is average in my opinion. At least it wasn’t bitter and they did a decent job on the foam. It’s a bit pricey but for the décor/ambience/concept, it fulfills every basic girl’s dream(lol) & it’s worth it :)

So happy to be back! I had an amazing tout with a fresh, salad with sorrel and apples. A pumpkin bread with honey and butter. Wonderful husband had a mushroom soup and a burger with frites. Sooo good. Of course the potted bread with butter comes with the meal. Spent e Way more shopping on the way out!!!

Everything about this place makes me happy. Flowers, the most beautiful indoor and outdoor home décor you can find and BYO brunch — what more could a girl ask for? Start by strolling around outside and in the greenhouses for instant inspiration. Regardless of whether you love gardening or disdain it, I promise you’ll leave ready to completely redo your backyard into a floral paradise. In the fall they have pumpkins and an oh-so-Anthro fire pit with blankets so you can enjoy the ambiance and a coffee from their coffee bar. Inside, they have everything from seasonal decorations to wreaths, bathroom essentials, kitchen ware, terrariums, gifts and more. Around the holidays, it’s simply magical. And to top it all off, once you’re done roaming and shopping you can enjoy a delicious brunch in their café!

In love. Obsessed. Cannot wait to go back! The entire experience was just so damn lovely. The setting in the greenhouse. All of the rustic details. The garden. The shopping! Oh my! First let’s start with the food. Fresh bread in a little terra-cotta pot. So cute! My girls split the Kennet Square Mushroom soup, grilled cheese and fruit salad. I ordered the portobello burger which I took of the bun because it was so huge and it was Passover. It came with a massive amount of fries. We all had leftovers. I did get a nice almond milk latte for dessert though in one of their neat flavors. They serve everything on either slates of wood or wood chargers and they are beautifully presented. The store! Omg. So many amazing things to look at. Not cheap but what in Urban or Athro is. Worry it though. I loved and wanted everything. Carefully planning a shopping list for next visit. Every detail of the entire place was amazing. Farmhouse-ish. Very cool. Very neat. A must visit. We made a whole day of it and did Linvilla Orchards too. You could combine Longwood Gardens and Terrain also. We come every season to see what’s new. A visual treat for sure. A little pricey but some true gems. The last time we ate in the café it was fall and I had the stuffed acorn squash. It was amazing! This place is not to be missed. Definitely worth the drive!

Terrain is a rare find. This is a hidden gem just beyond their garden supplies. The store had items for sale for every gardener’s delight. Even the showroom floor was very high-end luxe. When you’re able to find the café, you see that it’s twice as big as you thought it might be. Once they see you to your table they serve you fresh baked bread in a flower pot! Today the butter was honey poppy seed. For my lunch I choose a platter of charcuterie and cheeses selected by the chef. It was served on a polished section of a tree which was very appropriate for this greenhouse garden café. The atmosphere was very quiet and reserved the wait staff was super attentive and knowledgeable and the food was divine.

This is the perfect setting for a relaxing girls brunch or romantic dinner. I tried their brunch for the first time this weekend — with our BYO bottle of champagne for mimosas. We had the Farmhouse cheese and charcuterie board, their fabulous flowerpot brioche-like bread and 2 desserts to share(homemade quality salted caramel pie and a chocolate pecan pie) and it was actually plenty to occupy us. We stayed and chatted over for at least 3 hours with no feeling of being rushed of frowned upon. I couldn’t believe we had stayed that long until I saw the dinner table cloths begin to appear on tables. Afterward, we shopped until our champagne buzzes wore off enough to drive home. A wedding party was there for photos, both outside in the garden and indoors –it’s that beautiful. Prices were $ 20ish for cheese boards, $ 15ish for other dishes, $ 8 ish for sides and desserts. This an awesome choice for brunch, made near perfect with its BYO option. It does have an upscale feel, but is not snooty in the least. It’s not inexpensive, but the atmosphere cannot be beat, and the food is very good. Things to know: it’s in an outdoor, converted greenhouse with stone walls. Once I was there in the winter and saw something small and furry scurry across the floor. Had I seen this in a normal indoor restaurant I probably would have run screaming. Here, I thought ‘ah well, it’s a converted greenhouse.’

Hey! Look! Pinterest opened a store! Everything in this place looks like it has been magically transported from Pinterest, Southern Living Magazine or Real Simple. It’s a lovely place to walk around and browse. There’s an outdoor garden shop area, an indoor garden shop area that transitions smoothly to décor to gifts to housewares to personal care items like botanical creams and lotions to a restaurant and lastly to a spa. It’s all beautifully and harmoniously merchandised. They have events, such as «Meditation and mindfulness» and«Cryophotography workshop» that you can sign up for. The staff are friendly and look exactly like they should be there and in this lifestyle. There is a price you pay for this, and that is literal mark-up. You will not find bargains in Terrain. A hand-painted plate from South America not suitable for food was $ 98 for example. Lovely display piece. FDC was looking for plants to use in a terrarium that she wanted to start, and they had everything including a free ‘how to’ guide, which is of course what they would have. We did not dine, so no comments on the food. I enjoyed visiting, though, and would happily return to browse. Next time perhaps we’ll grab a bite to eat.

The antique greenhouse is the way to go at Terrain. The greenhouse is beautifully decorated with pieces plucked from nature and random pieces of art. The organic menu changes with the cycle of the seasons using local produce, dairy and meats from trusted sources Seating is a bit tight here and you may have to endure the waitresses backside touching your table as she serves other customers as I did yesterday. Or you may experience a bit of traffic as waitstaff cuts through the space between tables to the main walkways. That is the only negative thing I can say and they may want to consider having them serve and walk only in aisles as this has been my experience every time I’ve dined here the last 4 years. Here, water is served without having to ask Nice. Meals at Terrain start with the bread in a flower pot and butter. Yesterday mine tasted as if it was infused with a cinnamon sugar. Yummy noises! Next up: Tomato soup which was thick and flavorful and adorned with fresh basil. I enjoyed it. Iced Tea was perfectly brewed and chilled. My entrée was a huge burger encased in delectable cheese on a soft roll that included the sweetest, ripest tomato, romaine slice and an onion sauce. Divine! Handmade shoestring fries were the perfect side item. Come here and enjoy dining in a horticultural paradise

We hosted my friend’s bridal shower for 13 people in the Mushroom Hut today and it was perfection! If you can imagine, this Anthropologie-owned venue/café/nursery looks STRAIGHT out of Pinterest in the most puke-worthy way. Succulents on the wall, round bulb lights, tree stump seats, the works. It’s adorable for a small group, and you can BYO champagne for mimosas. The wait staff waited on us hand and foot, bringing round after round of the most incredible food – fresh baked rolls with herbed butter, salad, apple fritters, brioche French toast, vegetable goat cheese frittatas, potato hash, the works. The pace was consistent and they didn’t interfere with the flow of our shower with gifts, etc. We also brought our own cake which they cut for us! They packed up our leftover food for the bride as well. Be prepared to pay for the service – it’s not necessarily cheap to rent it but we split among the bridesmaids so it wasn’t terrible.
