I’ve been going to Gennaro’s since I was a little kid. It is hands down my favorite pizza place ever. I now live in brooklyn, but once in a while I’ll trek back home to grab some of his food. Everything is good. Eat it.

Gennaro has been my favorite local pizzeria since I was a kid and I’m 40+. The owner still recognizes me when I come by only once a year from the west coast. He is very nice and always asks how me and my family are doing. It’s not fancy just a mom and pop shop. Eat anything he serves, it’s all good.

Gennaro’s is the best! Garlic knots are always fresh and the grandma pizza is delicious.

Pizza was decent first couple of times I went in and it should be! he learned from Umberto’s himself(very bitter about his years there at Umberto’s of nhp by the way dont bring it up) but second to last time I was there had pizza that was very sub par. Went in a couple days ago(last time ever) i was starving and only had time to grab a slice before going to an appointment(during diner hours) and got a slice and as I looked at the slice I looked up at gennaro and be looked at me as if to say I know I shouldn’t be serving this but what the hell I don’t care. It was the worst pizza I’ve ever had dried out, no sauce and was laying around for a long time and too boot he barely heated it up. As my mouth felt like a desert I wondered if he’d get the point if I threw it out right in front of him but I’m not that evil and remembered that this is the only calories I would see till 10:00pm so I suffered and continued on. Never again! Place needs to be taken over by someone who gives a crap, and needs to be remodeled. Only good thing was the girl who took my money was soo sweet. I’m so pissed I spent good money on day old pizza.

Gennaro has the best pizza, especially the grandma pie! Great little neighborhood place and friendly service, too!

The owner of this establishment is totally disrespectful of his customers. I went into the Gennaro’s this afternoon for a simple slice of pizza. What he had on display looked as if it had been out on the counter for hours. It was cold, dried out and totally unappealing. Hungry, and wanting something tasteful and hot to eat, I opted for a sausage and peppers roll. It didn’t look much better than the pizza but I figured at least the inside was clean. As the owner opened the oven to put my sausage roll in, I noticed that he had a fresh pizza ready to come out. I told him I’d rather have two slices of the fresh pie. He took out the roll and then proceeded to cut two sliced from the cold and decrepit pie that had been on his counter for only God knows how long. When I repeated that I wanted sliced from the fresh pie, he shouted at me «Shut Up». With other customers listening, and even the other help behind the counter disturbed by is actions … I simply said, that’s no way to speak to a customer. how do you intend to stay in business with this sort of attitude. I then walked out and purchased my food from a nice little Chinese take out just two doors down. I’ll never go back to Gennaro’s. He may have good food, if and when he cooks something fresh, I’ll never know since his attitude and words are far to hostile for this person. I’ll vote with another writer who mentioned that Gennaro’s is run down, appears dirty and has no class. If it were up to me, I’d shut this place down by not patronizing it. Never Again !

A typical pizzeria, good pizza, friendly service, has booths. The pinwheels came out cold and dry, but the pizza was very good. I would frequent this place if I was a local, but wont travel far for them

Gennaro’s makes the best old world Italian pizza both Sicilian and regular on Long Island. Give their lasagna try too.

How many pizzerias can honestly say that everything is home made from scratch, soup to knots.

This is my favorite pizza place on Long Island, hands down. What I love is that the sauce is fresh, the crust thin and crispy, and the man himself — Gennaro — is always behind the counter. Sure, the décor may be dated, but it’s clean and the food is oh so good. I love that it’s a family run joint that’s been in the same spot for 25 years. They all speak Italian behind the counter, and serve your slices to you on these little miniature pizza trays. It’s gooey, crispy, and warm and absolutely delicious!
