Wow, the salted Carmel cupcake is definitely a must try! The owner Karen is super nice and friendly. If you can decide like me in which one to try, ask Karen for a suggestion or get the mini assortment and you can’t go wrong. Karen delivers for special occasions which is awesome if you’re trying to make someone feel special, it beats spending flowers. Must try these cupcakes, definitely deserves the 5 stars

Delicious! We saw the bright pink truck parked in Oak Brook and decided to stop by today! We tried the chocolate dream and the salted carmel cupcakes. The cake was moist and the frosting wasn’t overly sugary. The gentlemen who served us was so very kind to our daughter. Keep up the good work!

Wow! The owner, Karen, is SUCH a wonderful woman! Super sweet :-) I work in the city, and know I can always count on a great cupcake bakery or a cupcake truck to be around the corner. Monday was my hubby’s bday, and I was originally planning to get some cupcakes to bring home to him(he’s a cupcake FANATIC), but I didn’t end up going into work that day. So I frantically searched on Unilocal that morning, at 6am. I saw Mama Tola’s and Cupcakes for Courage, along with a couple brick and mortar bakeries. I messaged both Cupcakes for Courage and Mama Tola’s — Karen got back to me right away! She was so very accommodating! I asked where I could meet her, and she insisted that she would deliver to me in Lombard. When she suggested the time, I had let her know I would be at brunch with the hubby at that time, in Elmhurst. She offered to deliver right there to Egg Harbor! It was so great and my husband was thrilled! I saw her pull up, and said Oh, honey look! A cupcake truck, let’s go check it out!(He still didn’t know I planned it) She came up with a huge box of super cute cupcakes! These are such great tasting and fresh cupcakes; like a bite of heaven! Everyone who had one thought the same thing and enjoyed them thoroughly. Such a reasonable price, too! Make sure you see Karen at Mama Tola’s for all your cupcaking needs! :-)

Mama Tola’s has been cruising around our area lately and I took notice a few weeks back as I saw then heading down Schick Road. Their bright pink truck caught my eye, I made a note and looked them up later that day. A cupcake truck! Hmmmm. Not quite sure our local marketplace has a lot of room for another cupcake truck, but I liked them on Facebook anyhow and decided I’d check them out if they were in the area. Yesterday was my day! I noticed they were going to be in Elk Grove Village and they were asking if anyone needed cupcakes. Well, who doesn’t NEED a cupcake from time to time? And since my office is on the EGV/Itasca border, I alerted them to my cupcake«needs». Cupcake Carl reached out and let me know when they would be nearby, he called when he was about ten minutes away and he called upon his arrival. Literally right outside of my office door. No navigating unfamiliar business parks for me. They showed up with my Special Delivery! I encouraged my co-workers to come outside and get their sugar buzz on with me. I’m good like that. And so we took the twelve second walk to the truck. We were warmly greeted by Carl and Karen and introduced to Mama Tola’s. We tried everything they had on the truck! Turtle, red velvet, chocolate dream aka what looks like a hostess cupcake, salted caramel and then some! They had both full sized cupcakes and minis. The full sizes did not disappoint! The minis were the perfect couples bites of delicious! The salted caramel has a deceiving look about it. I thought it was going to be boring, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! Rich, salted caramel made up the center of the cupcake. The little drizzle of caramel on top was a nice touch. The chocolate dream may have been a hostess look-a-like, but it was so much dreamier! It was light and moist and oh so good. My son was eating the minis last night and he even commented on how good they were. They said they were fresh… and they were! I love when a treat lives up to my expectations! I really think they’ve got a baker who knows what he/she is doing. I would like to see some more unique options from time to time, but the frosting wasn’t cloyingly sweet, so I can easily see these treats making their way into our future again. Right now, I don’t think their webpage is up and running, but they are on Facebook and they seem to be pretty good about posting where they’re going to be next. They had a great product, were super pleasant to interact with and the cupcakes were reasonable. I am highly looking forward to making their acquaintance again!
