One of my favorite wineries in Northern California wine country(Napa + Sonoma combined). I love the elegant yet casual tasting room that overlooks Glen Ellen, the friendly tasting room staff who are very generous with their pours(you might even be able to score a bit of the Late Harvest White Riesling if you’re really nice to them). And of course, the EXCELLENT wines, some of my favorites being the aforementioned Late Harvest White Riesling, the Reserve Especiale Cabernet Sauvignons, and the Saralee’s Vineyard Syrah. What’s also lovely is that they welcome walk-ins, but the level of polish is one level above(or in some cases, many levels) other tasting rooms that take walk-ins.

One of my favorite wines on this trip. Great service – so much better than the bigger wineries! Definitely visit.

In a world where customer service is lacking virtually everywhere you shop/visit, Dave at arrowood surprises you. His knowledge and personality made this, quite possibly, our favorite overall experience of our Napa/Sonoma getaway. The wine was unbelievable, the grounds were beautiful, and our service was impeccable. 5 stars for Dave– give him a raise! #recognizegoodpeople

Arrowood is one of our most favorite wineries. It is located just off the Sonoma Highway in Glen Ellen. It is convenient in proximity to many very nice restaurants in both the towns of Glen Ellen and Sonoma. The facilities at the winery are beautiful. Spectacular views from the wine tasting bar, the private tasting room on the first floor and the larger tasting /eating area for private parties on floor two. These views are topped off with an elevated, wraparound deck for visitors to enjoy while sampling the marvelous wine. My wife and I have been Arrowood Wine Club members now for several years. We always enjoy introducing friends and family to their wonderful offerings. Note that the wine club has all of the usual perks plus some(e.g. private wine pairings). Another solid reason for joining this club is that Arrowood is difficult to find. They have limited bottling and club members buy up the wine to enjoy themselves. Now I strongly prefer red wines but my wife loves her Chardonnay. Arrowood’s Cabernets, the Malbec and the Merlot are fantastic. The starting point Cab is the Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon. Great with food or just enjoying a glass or two with a good book. You can be confident when servicing this to guests with a discriminating taste for wine. A step-up is the Monte Rosso Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon which is a big red with a very nice after taste. Another great premium choice is the smooth, Smothers-Remick Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon … and yes, the Smothers’ family provide the grapes.

I went with a group of five to this winery for a tasting. The Cabs are excellent, the service was friendly, and the price was on point. It’s a smaller winery, but that adds to its charm. Nice seating on their back deck with a very picturesque backdrop of Sonoma valley.

Great experience at this winery. Came here on recommendation from a friend and had a great time. Good wine at price point. Beautiful room and great staff. Joe was super friendly, attentive and a lot of fun. Definitely hope to come back.

What a joy! This winery was gorgeous — up on the hill and wide open with a great deck. Dave poured us some incredible wines and told us stories until we were falling out of our seats laughing. There was also a guitarist who lifted our spirits the second we walked in. What a pleasant day and visit! Thanks so much Dave + Arrowood!

Beautiful porch view but the wines are very overpriced for what you are getting. In addition, there was no description of what we were drinking. Beautiful view, hands off staff. Will definitely pass on my next visit.

Dave totally rocked it! We went as a recommendation from St. Francis and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Particularly the cab grown in volcanic soil and the ’04 Syrah. Definitely recommend checking it out! And the wine club is a pretty good deal too.

Great vineyard with sweeping views. It is a little more conservative then others around but the patio is beautiful.

Is this place by appointment only? The website 7 or more you need a reservation, but not for one. I’m in town waiting on friends to arrive. I found this place by default. There were 6 people standing at the tasting counter(a group of two and a group of 4 with a total of 3 people working. I walk up, find my space and wait for a greeting and to start a tasting or even get a bottle. They have this beautiful back porch I thought it would be fun to sit there drink some wine and wait for friends. Sounds lovely… Well I wait, I wait some some and then I wait longer. All three workers look at me, but not one greets me. I wait a total of 15 minutes because they were talking with the guests there before me. I smile at them and try to say hello– but nothing. A party of two walk in and they are greeted. Why not me? My feelings are bruised so I leave. What a bummer… I head down the hill and find a place that will take me… I settle in there for the day and my friends do to. What a shame, but their wrong ended up a positive in my new spot

Cab tasting? Enough said! We came to this winery on our«Unplugged Weekend» together and I couldn’t be happier with us leaving with a case of their wines. I thoroughly enjoyed tasting each red wine that was offered on the tasting menu. I found it quite interesting that their Merlot doesn’t actually taste like Merlot. Cause in my opinion, Merlot tastes like watered down Jesus Juice. I like my red wines with more body and some oomph to em so if I’m drinking any kinda wine, it’d most likely be a Cabernet Sauvignon. Arrowood is apparently one of the few wineries that makes Cabernet Sauvignon from Monte Rosso Vineyard(wherever the heck that is). Two other great things about this winery: 1. Staff members are super friendly and true wine-o’s. 2. If you want a good backdrop for a photo op, take a step outside onto their deck. You get such a beautiful view of Sonoma Wine Country.

I thought this place looked familiar! This was one of the wineries we stopped at during my bachelorette party. I think… Anyway, hubby and I stopped came here Saturday. I usually spend hours planning our itinerary, but today, hubby and I decided to be somewhat spontaneous. We were on our way to Imagery and decided to stop here too. Pros: * the wrap-around porch; the beautiful views * the viogner was one of the best I’ve ever had — very peachy! * husband raved about their cabernet sauvignons So the wine isn’t bad, but… Cons: * the tasting fee was REALLY pricey for the area($ 15 for the standard, $ 25 for the reserve) * they only waive the tasting fee if you buy TWO bottles; avg. bottle price $ 70(!!!) * service was only OK. they didn’t go out of their way or anything… and they weren’t particularly friendly, warm, or conversational. the whole environment felt a little sterile/vanilla. IN A MOUTHFUL: Probably won’t be coming back now that I’ve remembered that I’ve been.

Best views, customer service & wine. This is a must stop if you love Chardonnay & Cabernet. We has a great time with Dave, he was fun, and let us try some older cabs that were smooth and bold. The next visit will be for a cheese pairing in their private room.

#Deco# I went there with friends for a cheese and wine pairing. The winery is nicely decoreated. We were seated in a private tasting room with a great view of the vineyard. #Tasting# The tasting cost $ 35 per person It includes two whites, two reds and one dessert wine, as well as cheese pairing for each wine. The wines were not outstanding but decent, and the pairing was phenomenal. #Service# The best part is that the wine waiter just came in occasionally to talk about the tasting notes of each wine. You are left with a lot of time to enjoy the wine and talk with your friends.

Honestly, if the weather is gorgeous, ask to be seated on the veranda. You won’t regret enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful views of the vineyard(assuming that they’re in season and aren’t dead). Just look out for the bees — they have no hesitation about buzzing around your table. Which, due to some of our group being bee-phobic(me included), caused a lot of bouncing up, yelling, and running away. But seriously. This is an absolutely beautiful winery with some amazing wines to sample. You pay for the tasting inside at their counter and then they seat your group(or do the tasting right there at the counter). Pricing is also fair for what you get(our server was not only incredibly hot — ½ Chinese, ½ Italian –, he was also very generous with our pours). I definitely recommend stopping by here if you’re in Sonoma!

So fantastic we got wine club membership. Great service, ambience, and wine selection. Can’t wait to attend their wine club members only event on February 15! By far, the best Chardonnay I’ve ever tried! Try it out for yourself! Riesling is delicious! If you like sweet dessert wines, you’ll like their Rieslings. January-February is the time to go since it’s not crowded(off peak time).

This was a standard tasting room that was intimate. While I enjoy a boutique winery, this had a very generic feel about it. While the house was pretty, and we enjoyed the patio seating on the outside, while we had sandwiches, it just didn’t seem special. The wine was good. But, nothing was memorable, where ultimately was indicated by my lack of purchase. The service was polite. They were not engaging by any means, and simply, felt like we were another tasting for that day. All in all, with so many wineries that have impressive wine and outstanding experience, Arrowood was merely mediocre at best.

Had a tasting reservation on a weekday around noon with the office. Walked in and I loved the high ceilings of the tasting room. The view was also very nice as you sipped on wine. It would be nice during the warmer weather to go out on the patio as well. Part of our group, including me, had the Signature tasting which included more whites versus reds. Our first wine was the a Chardonnay and it was my favorite. The rest of the wines were also great. Our pourer was nice and I love the reusable bag with dividers for the wines!
