Sad to say that our monthly hangout spot is closed/sold to new owners and is reopening as a sports bar. I hope that they will still have our favorite band, Oracle, play here monthly. Truly enjoyed coming here to meet with our older friends and have a few drinks.

When planning my friends bachlorette party, Whispers was the only place to call to enjoy Oracle band. In January I called and made reservations for 15 people and requested the circular area by the dance floor. I was told I had it. When I called the week before the party to give a final head count and confirm the reservation, it was confirmed, we had the requested area by the dance floor. When we showed up that night we were escorted to an area by the bathroom. WAIT! WHAT??? I was told they had put another party in the area I had requested. When talking to Helen, the manager the person I had been speaking to all along, I was told there was nothing she could do and sent over a round of disgusting shots to make up for her mismanagement. She was not sorry. She did not care. She knew we had a party going on and couldn’t pick up and move to another bar. When planning your event here, re-thnk your decision. Also, If you want water you are Sh*t out of luck people. They only serve bottles at $ 1.50 a pop. Really? So much for friendly customer service and watching out for your customers well-being. They are all about the $$$ here.

Ok so my friends and I went here on a Friday night and it was literally hopping. Now let me just say this right off the bat, the demographic was not something that I am used to. I mean I am no youngster anymore and usually I find myself being part of the«older» crowd most places, but I found this to be opposite here. I found that we were actaully the young ones there, which was slightly troubling at firtst. As we progressed through the night though, we had so much fun and everyone there was so nice and inviting. Obviously the place got a little empty the later it got but it was still rockin. Now the band that was playing, Oasis, was really good and they even took requests. They were a cover band that played all sorts of new and old music. I was impressed by how good they were, and they were really friendly. Ok so the actual place itslef is a fairly good size, the dance floor is a bit small with a huge beam right in the middle. There are a few pool tables to play on, and there are seats and tables to relax on. The bar was manned by three people so getting drinks was not that big of hassle. I would have liked to have table service, but that was not an option. Prices were ok and typical of the area. I would go back here only if the band was playing again. This place is ok for you grown folks, but not somewhere that I would hang out at usually.

This was my second visit to Whispers Restaurant. I made a reservation for dinner and when we arrived our table was not avialable due to a larger than expected wedding party taking up more of the dining room then planned. The two men at the front tried to figure out where they should seat us. We waited for a few minutes then they seated us at two smaller tables they pushed together to accommodate our group. They were friendly and apologetic for the wait. We sat down and looked at menus and the waitress came to take our order. She informed us that the kitchen was backed up and that all food orders would take at least 30 – 45 minutes to come out. We were fine with that and placed our orders. After our order was placed a older woman came up to us and told us we couldn’t sit there and we had to move because the tables we were seated at were for parties of 2 and that they needed to seat people at our tables who had reservations. She acted as if we had sat ourselves at these tables which we did not. I informed her that we too had a reservation and this is where the front staff sat us. We had no problem moving, but this staff person approached us in such a rude manner it immediately put us on the defensive. A simple approach of «I’m sorry, would you mind moving to a different table that would better accommodate your group?» would have been the proper way to speak to guests. Seated at the new table we wondered if our order was placed since we gave it to the waitress? We asked the rude woman if our order was placed and she said we had a different waitress because we were in a different section. Okay, that didn’t answer our question. The new waitress came over and thankfully she didn’t learn any of her customer service skills from the older staff member. She was friendly, professional, polite, nice, and a hard worker. She took our order and everything from then on went fine. The food was okay. We didn’t order anything special, so it’s hard to go wrong. I think the highlight of Whispers is the live music. It provides an environment in which people can socialize, dance, and just have an overall good time. After the rough start to the evening, we had a nice time.
