Mona Lounge & Cigar Bar

Came here as a first timer a few days ago. Best lounge I have ever been to! immediately was seated as soon as I walked in, then the waiter was prompt with menu offerings and drinks. Found my way to the cigar selection and was educated and recommended by a very knowledgeable attendant. Prices were not unreasonable and food was generous in portion and taste. Will return often for sure!

I travel a lot and have had the opportunity to visit a number of cigar lounges around the country. Mona is one of the best.

This is one of my top places in the surrounding Richmond area. They have a diverse menu with great dishes that are super fresh and served with very nice presentation. The drink menu is vast. There’s about a dozen beers on tap, plenty of exotic craft beers, wine galore, and specialty drinks that come in a cool tall party glass thingies. Lol. Sorry, I can’t think of the name… Anyways, the cigar selection is quite amazing. There’s a large display room and a huuge display case adjacent to it. The prices are a little higher than they are at a cigar shop, but keep in mind, you’re paying for convenience… They also have hookah with about a dozen or more different flavors to choose from. You can also mix flavors or add wine to the base. The bar is average size, but there’s tvs throughout the entire lounge. Pretty much every seat has a view, so this is definitely a good place to watch a game. There’s a few tables throughout the lounge, but it’s mostly furnished with leather Lazyboy chairs. They also have a decent sized outdoor dining/​smoking area. Best of all, they have live jazz/​neosoul music on Friday and Saturday nights. In my opinion, the atmosphere is great. They have a diverse crowd and It’s the perfect spot for the grown and sexy. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is because I wish they had more hookah options like fruit heads, ice hoses, etc. More than that, I know it’s a cigar lounge, but I feel like they need a better air filtration system.

Good place to meet for drinks. The beer and wine selection is pretty good. The best part was the live music. They have cigars and hookah. Also, you can bring in your own. The chairs are also very cozy.

Wanted to find a place to have a cigar without having to sit outside. The atmosphere is very nice, good mellow jazz playing (missed the live music) but very chilled out. Decent cigar selection, not too pricy. Great drink menu; lots of whisky and bourbon. Not sure about the food, it is a cigar lounge, so people are smoking. Surprisingly, not overly smoky though. I’d recommend it for the atmosphere and to hang out.

I had the chicken pasta in white sauce. It was really delicious. Hookah was pretty good too. But the service is a little slow. This place can do better. Will defiantly return.

I love this place. I have been there about once a week since they opened. They have a great selection of beers and spirits as well as a good selection of cigars. This is not a cigar store but they have a well stocked humidor with something to suit all preferences and budgets. The food is also really good. I recommend the salmon. The outdoor patio area is a great place in spring and fall.

While the other reviews that mention the fact that Mona’s doesn’t offer a vast assortment of cigars to purchase, please know that they have absolutely no issue with you bringing in your smoke of choice.
Pro tip: looking for a nibble? Get the olives. They’re fantastic!

Stopped in after work and found my home away from home. This place as an awesome vibe as well as a diverse crowd. They do hookah as well as a variety of premium and top shelf cigars. Great service and interaction from their staff. Great place to relax after work and unwind or bring some friends and make it a night out. keep up the good work gals and guys!!!

Awesome spot. My new favorite bar in richmond. Amir and Gee were amazingly hospitable. The bourbon selection was great. Good value for high end whiskey. The cigar selection was good. As they grow, I hope they increase the size of the humidor and selection of cigars. Overall I will most certainly be back. The atmosphere reminds me of one of my favorite cigar bars in DC. This is a hidden treasure in Richmond. I would give a higher rating if their cigar selection of was greater, but I can’t knock off too much because the quality of the selection was good.

Great bar with a limited cigar selection.
This place is more a classy bar with cigars, than a cigar store, but the selection they have is of good cigars at very reasonable prices. Plus their Scotch selection is excellent.
I’ve been to cigar places all over the country and this certainly one of the better ones, even with the relatively limited selection of cigars.

Mona’s is so great! I first went there on my birthday eve and now I enjoy going often. I recently went on Wednesday, ladies night, and had a blast. I had the fettucine alfredo with chicken, and beef sliders. The atmosphere was very lively and the crowd kept growing. It’s hard to find a place with great people, live music and fun on a weeknight in the West End. I also recommend the cherry vanilla flavored cigar. Tasty!

The atmosphere is nice and relaxed. The cigar smoke is kind of strong and distracting if you’re not into smoking. The live music is nice but I wish it lasted longer. the drink prices are a bit high for the size

Took my nephew here because he was stopping by in Richmond for the night and he loves cigars and whiskey. This place really hit the spot.
The atmosphere is a laid back, enjoy your cigar, sip some whiskey and enjoy the live jazz music kinda atmosphere. You get to pick from a variety of cigars in a room where the humidity is constantly at 70%. The cigars ranged from $ 7 all the way up to about $ 30. Then, you get to decide how you want your cigar cut, a small hole or a big hole and by which tool. It might be called something else but I’m not sure. Then they light it for you and then you can go back and relax at your table and get some food or drink. We decided to pick from the whiskey menu. The prices ranged from $ 9 to I think $ 24. I got a Padron cigar and a glass of whiskey, neat, which means with no ice I learned.
Then we ordered the meat and cheese platter which comes with a side salad was $ 18 and it was brought out I a small cutting board and looked awesome BUT the amount of the platter was disappointing. The salad was literally about the size of my balled up fist. There were 3 different cheeses, I think 2 to 3 small pieces of each and there were 4 meats I think; ham, roast beef, prosciutto and something else, maybe turkey. I was hoping for a lot more for $ 18 but we wanted to try it because we have never been. The cheese and meat were a very nice compliment to the whiskey and cigar I have to mention.
Overall I like the feel of the place. I always wanted to smoke cigars and sip whiskey in a 2 floor library filled with books from all over the world, but this place almost gives me that same feeling. Nothing better than relaxing with a cigar and whiskey and listening to live music. This place is a definite must try for a guys night out if you’re into cigars

Except for my woman, and my daughters, herein lies all great things that God has blessed mankind with. A most welcome oasis for the man who chooses not to schlep around the Short Pump Mall shopping for hours on end with his family during the holiday madness.
Yes sir, they have great cigars that are not overly priced like the local chain of H-​connections, they have cold beer on draft, and booze for those seeking something stronger on a Sunday @ 1-​PM, (not I, said the cold draft drinker), they have good food, they have deep sinking leather couches, wing back chairs, tables, they have football games on HD TV’s.
Yessir, this is a verifiable Man oasis, yet cool enough to where we can all bring our classy women here on mutual dates!

Phenomenal atmosphere! Jazz on Wednesdays. Great selection of cigars and world class management. The General runs a very tight ship.
