Dutchman’s Pizza

Ok so the reviews are mixed so let me break this down for you. I met a couple of friends here one night around 8(they close at 9) and the place was almost empty besides this other party of people sitting in the other room. Right off the bat, the place didn’t have that «oh this is going to be good stuff,» sense. Ok lets get this review on the road.
The place: The place is in a decent location, however the restaurant itself is outdated which is common with pizza joints.
The food: I’m going to break this down to crust, sauce, cheese and toppings. The crust: It wasn’t bad, had a nice crunch to it. The sauce: This was a total buzz kill. It was too «watery» the cheese/​toppings kept sliding off. It needed to be thicker with additional spices. The cheese/​toppings: The cheese was plenty full and the pepperoni was typical.
The price: So here is where the problem lies, a large pizza (half cheese/​half pep) with 4 drinks will run you $ 35.xx. I don’t think a pizza like this is worth that price IMO. Maybe 16 for the pizza plus 2 bucks for the drinks would be an acceptable figure relating to the quality.
The staff: There were two people working at 8 pm. They were nice so there is no issue there.
Am I coming back? I doubt it. I mean it wasnt horrible but definitely not worth the money in my opinion

Pizza delivered COLD. Not warm or luke warm, but COLD. I could’ve shaved my face with the cheese. Just called manager and expressed concern and he blamed everything on driver. That’s not accepting responsibility nor is it a resolution. Never ordering from this place again! Go to pinnochios instead. best in town in my opinion.

Chatted with the owner and you can tell what’s important to him… family…not just his but families in general having a place to have fun together. At Dutchman’s you’ll get delicious pizza, the games on several big screens, an arcade and plenty of seating for large groups. Really loved the two BIG beautiful round wooden tables they have in the main dining room. There’s nothing better than being able to see and hear everyone your dining with. Call up the whole family and head to Dutchman’s…there’s room for everyone!!!

Good pizza! Fresh ingredients made it. We ordered a large pepperoni, olive, and mushroom. I like that a lot of the ingredients were locally sourced.
«Baked Fries» are a healthy twist.
Definitely will go back if I want pizza in Gilroy again.
Con: Our Shocktop wasn’t that great, and a pitcher for $ 15, was a bit pricey.

Ordered a pepperoni and pineapple pizza on the phone. Received a $ 5 discount for checking in. Obtained my pizza. Ate my pizza. It was delicious. All as expected. Nothing overwhelmingly outstanding. Just great pizza at a great price and served with a smile. Can’t ask for anything more. It is always a pleasure getting food from Dutchman’s.

I got to give this places 3 stars the pizza was of the hook I got to meet the owner of this place awesome guy so all I can say if from out of town it’s a most stop joint in gilroy, ca

My husband, neighbor, myself and out two four year old children went to eat on 11/​13/​2015, we arrived at about 8pm. We ordered 1 large combo, a sampler platter, pitcher of beer and three sodas. Mario took our order and initially was kind but very odd. About an hour an a half later I got call and had to step outside, the couple who arrived after us had received their pizza when I returned but we were still pizza-​less! I approached the counter to ask and was helped by a young lady who asked us which of their staff took our order and he presented himself. It turns out Mario took our order but never put it in!!! When we walked into Dutchmans there was a family leaving and literally no one else! How did Mario forget that? He apologized and we asked for our money back for the pizza which he returned but we did not get the $ 25 in quarters we spent back and we also left wit two screaming, hungry four year old.
I could care less is this place closes as a mater of fact after my past experience I consider it a waste of business space! Next time when we want quality pizza we will go to Pinnochios l or Straw Hat and if we need video games we will go to Chuck e Cheese! I will never put another dime towards this place and as for Mario, buddy you need help. I don’t know what you are on but you have to get it together.

Pizza and I have a relationship that dates back to 1990. Back when calories were not counted, gluten was still in everything and cheese had no limits. A world without pizza is a world I do not want to live in!
So when I heard a fellow Unilocaler say that Dutchman’s was good eats I knew at that point Dutchman’s was worthy of a bookmark. It came time where I was in the area and practically starving. I walked in and caught a glimpse of dolla bills hanging from the ceiling. Surrounded by money and pizza I knew at that point that this was going to be a good time.
I ended up ordering a X-​large half pepperoni/​pineapple and mushrooms pizza, and an order of garlic bread. You can’t come to the garlic capital of the world and not order garlic bread. The total came out to be around $ 28.00 A little pricy but you can definitely tell that the dough is hand rolled and the vegetables are fresh. I will tell you their pizza is thick but lucky for me I love deep dish but they added their own twist to it! I also noticed they had gluten free pizzas (upon request) meatball sandwiches, calzones and salads available. Another plus they also deliver.
I’ve spent hundreds of dollars in my lifetime on major chains and delivery. Armed with $ 5 meal deals to $ 30 pizza that came with a sides of antacid. Dutchman’s was money well spent. Their pizzas seemed to be made with more care, was definitely tastier than others and their ingredients were way better!

Oh my gosh, this pizza was horrible! I mean really terrible! The pizza was delivered uncooked. The crust was dough-​y, the cheese was still chunky because it was never melted, it was abysmal.

My boyfriend stopped here (after a 12 hour shift) to order a pizza to-​go. He was quoted a 25 minute wait time and sat down. He waited… and waited… and waited. Forty minutes later, he approached the counter to ask about his order. After some back and forth with the employees, it turns out they mistakenly served his pizza to a man in the dining area, who ate it knowing full well that it wasn’t his order, but I digress.
There was no apology, no offer to make it right — just, «we’ll make you another one.» By that point he just wanted to get home, so he asked for refund and left. Needless to say, this will be our first and last experience with Dutchman’s Pizza.

Their pizza is different :) I never had pizza like they made it before. Very unique good style of thick crust/​pan made style. The quality is pretty high and they use fresh jalapeños! Which are super spicy lol great overall pizza place.

Best place for lunch, great pizza and awesome service. They always have the soccer on!

I am torn here because the pizza is absolutely fantastic, but the location is a disgusting hell hole. I say this without hyperbole, their logo is engulfed in flames because this restaurant is literally rising from the defiled filth of Hades itself. I implore you to not look at the carpet while dining, especially near the arcade.
I can’t in the darkest recesses of my mind imagine what foul conditions exist in the kitchen, but I can say this — whatever unholy magic they employ back there works. The pizza is warm and delicious and the garlic sticks melt in your mouth.
If you don’t «care how the sausage is made», this is the place for you. You won’t find a better pie this side of Berkeley.

They stopped taking orders well before closing. Maybe it was slow, but why stop taking orders before the displayed closing time?

Best pizza in town. Thick crust great quality ingredients! Lots of awesome specials! My family and I love this place!

This is the 3^rd time in the last couple of wks I’ve tried to order dinner for either pick up or delivery and have been told that they are closed early for one reason or another. Tonight is because they are having their carpets cleaned, who closes on a Saturday night at 830? When I asked about their hours of operation it wasn’t the same as what they posted. So they get one star

Dutchmans Pizza… the truth hurts… And obviously you’re not man enough to hear it. And we tried to pick up that check. Which you said you could not find at the moment… a liar as well as a cheat. It’s really no surprise why I gave this place one star. Look at the response the pig of an owner gave me for reviewing his shitty restaurant… sounds like a chauvinist pig to me. Can you say woman hater? I hope everyone reads this and realizes that this guys a creep and also a liar. Good luck dude.

your school never picked up their $ 25 check. If you feel it should be more than you should get more people there. As for your opinion of the place you should be more respectful as you are only a visitor. You potty mouth was disgusting but to be expected since not all the people in Gilroy are respectful. Greasy pizza? We do not add oil to our dough so it’s on the dryer side and the cheese is low fat cheese so there is no grease from whole milk mozzarella. Sounds like your as stupid as your review. Many have told me you sound like one of the women who need a man to clam you down… omg this is sad.
