California Fresh

Love this place… It’s a Buffet … Serve yourself and eat… What more could you ask for… No coupons ??? Unless you can find them…

Good service. Dont trust the system! They write false reviews. However, the pizza was too good, so good that I cant eat it.

With there was not a press worst service ever still the same as fresh choice for service customer service and everything was dirty every time I ate there I got sick

If Souplantation had a hood rat sister, California Fresh would be it. It was my first time dining here and everything was just beyond disgusting. I honestly don’t even know where to start so I will separate this into sub sections:
Dishes/​Presentation:
Dishes were dirty. I saw stains on a few of the salad plates right when I went to grab my salad from the salad bar. Who finds tomato chunks on white, «washed» plates attractive? Come on!
Salad bar:
The salad bar itself look pretty dried out as if no one had touched it for hours which was disappointing. I kind of felt bad for all the sad looking veggies just laying there.
Soup:
One try and I could tell the soups were not made with care. They were made from a cheap stock base and just quickly mixed in with some veggies and anything else that happened to be in the kitchen. Chicken noodle soup had fettuccine thrown in instead of normal soft and tender noodles. It was great eating chicken noodle soup that tasted like my drunk self made it on a late Saturday night. Phở was a big fail too. All the other soups failed too actually.
Pizzas:
Pizzas looked wretched awful. I mean it looked like diarrhea pizza or something. Dominoes and Pizza Hut did a better job in presentation than these guys. Too much bread and lumpy cheese that fell off the side of the pizza. It was obvious when you looked around
Pasta:
Pasta section had plain cooked pasta and then a choice of 3 watery sauces that you could choose from to combine it with. It was bad. The sauce was so watery that the ingredients in the sauce had not even combined into everything yet. It looked like it was a half water mixture.
I would not return here period.

Trust the bad reviews and avoid this place. Don’t be tempted by having a buy one get one free/​50% off coupon because it’s truly not worth it. The salad is ok, mostly edible but the pre-​prepared salads lack flavor and freshness. The only other edible thing is the ice cream. The muffins are horrible, could be used as bricks or hockey pucks. The pizza is in the words of my daughter «messed up» and the soups lack the flavor you’d expect. Gave them two stars because we had a very friendly help staff that consistently came by and cleaned up our used plates and asked if we needed anything.

Was a little worried after seeing the other reviews, but had a good experience. Our dishes were cleared quickly, the food was fresh & flavorful. (This was on a Sunday lunch hour time.). They do not honor fresh choice coupons even though the signage still says fresh choice, but the manager came out and offered us an acceptable deal. Buffets are good when you have young kids, but obviously not fine dining. We’re glad we will be able to come back here (we had stopped coming toward the end of fresh choice’s time as the service & food quality were really bad at the end) and it is nice to have a place in town instead of having to drive up to sweet tomatoes in San Jose.

Worst service ever. Better as fresh choice. Dirty dishes everywhere. Did not replenish the food. Told the manager about the problem didn’t seem to care. Needs a lot of work.

Worst meal ever! Raw potatoes, old salad… how do you mess up cheese pizza??? Family of four and none of us could find food that tasted ok enough to swallow. Not to mention the flies in the restaurant and poor service. Save yourself the heartache and empty belly that follows… eat anywhere else. This was just awful.
