I searched for a good caterer via Unilocal and was not disappointed when I found Chef Mitchell. Chef Mitchell and his team could not have made me happier. I had to cater our company lunch, which is for approx. 100 employees, and our people are very picky about their food. Not only did Chef Mitchell offer a menu which was perfect for the occasion, the execution was tasty and the presentation fabulous, and most importantly he remembered our vegetarians and those with food allergies. Since everyone was very impressed with the buffet our management has decided to have Chef Mitchell repeat this, with different menus, every other week. He scored big with us and I am very grateful. I changed my game plan for our recent elopement wedding meal within two weeks out and contacted a few chefs in the area. However, I was really hoping that Chef Mitchell was available because his menu options and rates were the most competitive that I’ve seen during my research and I was able to find a lot of glowing reviews about his cooking. Thankfully, he was available and agreed to do our wedding dinner! He served us a wonderful six-course dinner with the following courses: 1) Ahi on a Crispy Won-Ton with Pickled Ginger and Wasabi, 2) Shrimp Crab Cocktail and Blackened Prawn, 3) Sherbert Palate Cleanser, 4) Mixed Greens with Spinach, Pink Lady Apple, Cranberries, Candied Pecans, and Asiago with Citrus Vinaigrette, 5) 8 oz Lobster Tail with Drawn Butter and Lemon, and 6) Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache and Raspberry Coulis. During his grocery-shopping, however, the market was out of 8 oz lobster tails, so he ended up feeding us with 12 – 14 oz ones! No complaints here! It was a memorable dinner for sure. My husband, our three guests, and I were all so happy about the quality of the food. Everything was amazingly delicious. We got generous servings of the lump crabmeat on the second course, the lobster tails were cooked perfectly, and my husband and I talked about the decadent, gorgeous chocolate cake for days! My husband and I have already decided we will be hiring Chef Mitchell again in the future!

My husband and I did a food tasting with Chef Mitchell a year before our wedding. We were impressed with the taste of the food, and that he let us substitute a couple of food items. When it was time for our wedding on July 18th, he sent a colleague to not only drop off tablecloths when we were setting up the reception space the day before, but he also set up and arranged the tables. We were pleasantly surprised! The day of the wedding, Mitchell and his staff went above and beyond. They lit the candles on each table, helped a guest find a better chair than was provided for her comfort, cut the cake(I forgot to ask in advance for that), and helped clean up the reception space. Our guests raved about the food, and many went back for seconds. My husband and I are still enjoying the leftovers. I highly recoomend Chef Mitchell!

Chef Mitchell is great. I’ve hired him myself a couple of times and have had his food at other events I attended. Good food, personal and attentive service, a pleasure to work with. I’ll gladly hire him again when I need catering for personal, business and political gatherings.

I wrote a review earlier, but it did not post, so here goes. Chef Mitchell is an amazing chef and prepares meals for my family here in Gig Harbor. He delivers them to our home and presents them with instructions on how to serve — they have all been totally delicious. He is courteous and always listens carefully to our wishes and tailors the meals to our likes. There has not been one miss — only hits! So, I think he is the best present my husband ever gave me. I love working hard at my job and then coming home to home-cooked meals that were made with love — just not by me! :)

Horrid service. I had originally said a rough estimate. Told him its not a set #. Priced at 17.99 a plate totally reasonable. Pay cash i would get it taxed free. But 800.00 extra do for staffing service. He wanted 4258 for a pasta dinner… 160 ppl. Two simple pasta dishes, salad and rolls. I lowered my # he upped his prices. I roughly said 200. Went to 160. He wanted to up me from our original contract of 17.99 to 24.99. I asked him why he needed to change. His answer«I’m doing u a favor by not charging u tax» no your not charging me tax cuz I’m paying u cash. I was content with putting this on my Alaska card to gain miles. :) but I’m not paying 25 a plate for pasta. He said he was digging into his own pocket to through me a party. Question. If i originally had said 200 ppl u quoted me at 17.99 pp and i received my rsvps so i lowered my # why up my price? «Show up with the cash or move on» thats what i got from him when i questioned him. Dont deal with him. Not worth ur time. Over priced bland food.
