Giddings Buffalo Wings & Burgers

There are many burger places in Austin and close towns, but man! o, man! This little shack must be one of the best burgers I have had since I moved to ATX! Just perfect in every possible way. Hihgly recommended if you are ever going through Giddings (place may be easy to miss) but it is so worth it. The fries are average, but the burgers are just something out of this world!

If you’re on the road to Houston or Austin and traveling 290 you’ll go through Giddings. This town isn’t big as a minute nor the neighboring towns.
This place sits across from a gas station and isn’t very large. The parking lot is gravel and dirt and doesn’t really accommodate a lot of vehicles. Still, you are able to get in and get what you want.
We found this place on Unilocal over a year ago. We wanted a burger that wasn’t from the usual suspects. After having an urge for a good burger I took a chance.
You know we we were truly surprised folks. I’m from the country and sometimes you just get better than what they have in the city. I’m of the belief that is the case here.
The quality of the burgers they serve is really good. Let me tell you this is good quality beef people. You won’t find many places like this serving real food. I’m shocked at the size of the burgers too. I mean they are huge folks. It may be better to share one if you don’t have the gumption of eating their burger. No kiddie sizes burgers so parents split it for the kids. The homemade fries are a good edition too.
If you find yourself stuck behind traffic or the train then look for an open sign. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed because they have it down. Off the beaten path but worth the trip.
Mrs. Mary is good people so if she is there give her respect because she treats everyone well. If you’re reading this my eye is better (she knows what I mean).

First stop on our trip through Texas: this alone was worth the trip thus far. Sharing a burger, onion rings and chicken wings. Extremely yummy! … Hold the phone, I was just treated to some deep-​fried pickles — welcome to the great Republic of Texas!!! I cannot find a sixth star on the system.

I’m telling you, the cheeseburgers at this place are some of the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, soft buns, lettuce, tomato… Perfection.
The owners are super nice, the register help was friendly, patient, and accommodating. Conveniently located on 290 right in downtown Giddings. Easy to miss so keep an eye out for it.
It will be your go-​to spot for cheeseburgers on your way to/​from Houston/​Austin.
