One time I went into this location after work. I’ll admit, I didn’t look so great. My job requires me to wear sweatpants or clothes that I don’t mind getting stains on, so I probably looked messy and out of place. Within a minute of coming in, I saw one of the women working there(probably a manager) tell one of the workers to follow me around the store. She also motioned towards me with her hand, so I knew for sure it was aimed towards me. I went to the back to buy some coffee, chocolate, and tea, and could feel NUMEROUS workers staring me down. It made me feel like I needed to apologize even though I did nothing wrong! When I got to the register, the same woman told another co-worker to follow a man who just walked in. This lady wasn’t even trying to whisper, either. It was so disturbing. I’ve been a loyal WM customer for years and continue to shop at other locations, but I’ll never come here again. Someone needs to tell this crazy lady that not everyone is trying to steal, and just because someone doesn’t look like the ideal customer doesn’t mean it’s okay to be disrespectful to them.

Normally I love world market, they have unique items and a huge selection of both food and home goods. However, I have recently been noticing some very deceptive advertising and horrible customer service. They will often include non-sale items in with sale items in store and on their website, then claim ignorance when you ask employees or call their hotline. In many(most? All?) states, an item must be sold as advertised, but world market seems increasingly uncaring about their shifty marketing practices. An underhanded, untrustworthy company is not one I want to shop at. Very disappointing.

Lots of stuff you need, and stuff you didn’t even know you needed. I’ve made a couple of purchases from the housewares area, sealing canisters for coffee and dispenser bottles for my cooking oils. You just never know what you’re going to find here, Prices are very reasonable, the staff is helpful but not intrusive, although sometimes they get tied up with a customer and you’ll have to wait your turn. For the prices and availability, that’s not bad. By the way, besides an interesting array of imported wines, beers, soft drinks and foods, this store takes tea and coffee seriously. There is a coffee club, after X number of pounds of coffee(I think it’s six) you get one free. There are multiple ways to make tea and brew coffee, from the traditional drip coffee makers, single cup drip makers, Bodum French Presses and copper Turkish coffee pots. You can pick your poison, a way to brew it, and the prices are all surprisingly reasonable. Need something unusual, maybe you’re not ever sure what it is? Try the World Market, it’s full of surprises!

I absolutely love this market. I recently went today to go look for a specific candy I wanted. I have found it! They have the rare candy I have wanted. I like the furniture there, but it is too expensive. It is really organized. It is a nice market. The staff was really nice, as well. I was able to find my way around World Market.

Wine, imported foods and candies, home décor, jewelry and more. This is a fun store to poke around in. For the most part you can see the country of origin on the bottom of the price stickers, which is nice. On the Saturday we were in they were having a wine tasting. They did not ask for my drivers’ license, so maybe the tasting policy has changed. You can join their membership club for free if you want, for which you provide a phone number and then get special wine pricing and coupons.

When I rate a store I look at 3 things: the facility, the merchandise, and the staff. Facility — pleasant well stocked clean and new building situated in a strip mall. Merchandise — lots of foodie and other items from around the world, not necessarily gourmet, but at least a change from the typical suburban grocery store. Staff — First and last time I was there they aggressively requested my driver’s license during the checkout. They said that they are required to put this information into their computer system to better serve their customers in the future. I SMELLBULLS**T. VIOLATIONOFMYPRIVACYRIGHTS = STOREFAILURE.
