$ 6.45 for a shirt, $ 12.90 for a suit. After crunching some quick numbers, either I’m wearing these clothes until they stand up on their own, or maybe I’m better off renting tuxedos for work.

I very rarely give one star reviews. In fact, I don’t think I have ever given a one star review before. You have to actively work at being terrible to deserve a one star rating, and Bensinger’s does just that. This review isn’t indicative of how terrible this particular location is; it is indicative of how terrible the entire company is. I have tried two separate locations and both of them were completly and utterly awful. One location is located in the shopping center at the corners of Germantown Parkway and Poplar Ave, the other is located in the shopping center at Poplar and Kirby. These are the only two locations I have physically been in, but the service at these two locations was horrendous enough to make me believe that sub par service is systemic within the corporation. I dropped my clothes off at the fist location on a Friday over a three day weekend. I had just moved to town, so all my suits were wrinkled and desperately needed to be dry-cleaned. I asked the employee several times if my clothes would be ready to be picked up by Tuesday morning, and she assured me several times that they would. When I returned early Tuesday morning and presented my ticket, the employee on duty could not find my clothes. After looking for about 15 minutes, she decided to call the girl who had taken my clothes. About this time I spied a pile in the corner that looked supiciously like my clothes. To my surprise, they were! My clothes were left in a pile the whole weekend?! Then, the lady told me they wouldn’t be ready until Thursday. At no time did she apologize or offer a discount or free service or anything. To top it off, after paying 90DOLLARS(!!!) my clothes were returned to me smelling like mothballs. The second location charged a comparative amount for 4 less suits(how does that work?), but at least returned my clothes on time. Just when i was about to give them credit for not being total screw ups, I got dressed for work. They shrunk my clothes! Like Honey-I-Shrunk-the-Kids-Shrunk. I thought maybe i gained a significant amount of weight over the weekend, but the three other shirts in the same size by the same designer that i brought at the same time still fit. And the shirt wasn’t just snug at the the midsection, it was at least 2 – 3 inches shorter on my already freakishly long arms. I will never step foot into a Bensinger’s again, and I implore you to do the same.
