Excelente! Es la verdad that Unilocalers know where the best food is at! I’ve seen this place on my Unilocal app whenever I search for food and it’s been in either the #1 or #2 spot of best restaurants on the Georgetown Unilocal rankings but haven’t tried it until this morning… we’ve been meaning to go for breakfast since the Unilocal word on the street was their breakfast tacos were amazing… BUT we can never get up on a Sat morning due to either Friday night«festivities», a hangover, or just pure laziness. Having had a sober Friday night and the need for an oil change on Saturday morning, it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this morning awake and FINALLY try it out. It’s off the Leander exit and in a shopping plaza. Very hole in the wall mom and pop style restaurant without much decoration, but what it lacked for ambience it made up for in food and service. Waitress was real nice, coffee was good, and as far as food, I had myself a chicharonnes and barbacoa taco(posted the pic) and my partner had the migas plate(posted the pic) and we were in Mexican breakfast food heaven! It tasted homemade right from the chips and salsa they brought out to the refried beans. The meat in my barbacoa was tender, and te chicharonnes, although somewhat soggy, hit the spot. And it was sooooo cheap too! Will definitely be back to this well deserving high Unilocal rated place!

Rolled into this place on a Saturday morning looking for some good breakfast tacos, and they did not disappoint. My wife and I each had a few tacos at a cost of ~$ 10. Barbacoa: The best, especially with a little cilantro and onion. Chorizo & Egg: Very tasty chorizo. Chicharon: Not too bad, great flavor, wish it was a little crispier. Tortillas: Of course they are great, only had the flour ones this time, but you cannot beat homemade. All in all, we’ll be back.

The barbicoa tacos really are as good as everyone says. Stay away from the Orange Juice. I’d be shocked if its not Sunny Delight in a glass. Rabia didn’t love the Pancake special, but I loved the tacos and tortas I had. The service is slow but friendly which I’m ok with since this is a family run restaurant. I’d certainly recommend it for those of you who want to eat traditional Mexican food.

What a spot in what felt like the middle of nowhere. We got in on our way through town and the food was tasty. Totally a mom and pop joint, great for authentic Mexican food and cheap prices!

Fantastic tacos. I am officially addicted to their barbacoa. It is out of this world. They fry their own chips from the fresh made tortillas on the in-house tortilla press.(If you are not a fan of corn tortillas, please try them here, you’ll see why Mexicans have perfected the tortilla de maiz.) This makes the chilaquiles exceptional as well. The pastor and chorizo haven’t rocked my world(it’s not bad, just not as good as the rest of the menu) but everything else — carnitas, beef, etc. are just amazingly good. And the barbacoa. Did I mention the barbacoa? If you want a little taco heaven — 3 barbacoa tacos on corn tortillas. What really sets this place apart though is the people. Always a smile, always ready to help in anyway. I usually make my order, go run an errand or two and come back, I try to run in because often, if the guys see me, they’ll run my order out to me, much to my embarrassment. But it’s a kindness that just goes above and beyond and shows in the pride they take in this family-run taqueria. Really thrilled to see them doing so well.

The BEST tacos I’ve had outside of Mexico. Authentic, great tasting, everything was incredibly fresh and tasted so good! The homemade tortilla chips that came with the tacos were hot, fresh, and served with two kinds of salsa that blew my mind. This is a great family run business, with friendly staff and quick service. I definitely will be back, I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

This little joint is a real find! Tortillas are fresh and made on the premises. All the ingredients are fresh as well. There are lots of choices but my gave is the chicken. Prices are so reasonable and the owner is very friendly. I’m looking forward to trying the breakfast tacos. Yum, yum, yum!

Possibly the best Taqueria I have had the pleasure to eat at since living in Austin. The tortillas were warm and fresh, The Barbacoa was tender and mouth watering. I will defiantly be eating there again, well at least when i have a chance to venture that far north.

I’m a Texas girl who is stuck in Georgia. However, on a recent trip back to the promised land, a friend took me to El Jarocho. I opted for the 3 taco dinner plate and got the Jarocho Chicken with the hand-pressed corn tortillas. Oh wow. Really, just wow. I can’t begin to describe how happy my tastebuds were after this trip. And as a bonus, I even got a Mexican Coke which was just icing on the cake. Truly this is a place that would have me in trouble if I lived closer. It’s a must try.

El Jarocho is an excellent little taqueria with great food and cheap prices. The standard assortment of meats – carne asada, barbacoa, pastor, their own special-recipe Jarocho Chicken, and discada – are all among the best I’ve tasted anywhere, and the tortillas are even better. This is not Tex-Mex, with everything buried in shredded lettuce and processed cheese product. The tacos are served double-wrapped in corn tortillas(or single-wrapped in thicker flour or hand-pressed corn tortillas) and topped with cilantro and chopped white onion. Tortas get all the same fillings on hearty, lightly sweet bread with tomato, white onion, and avocado. This would be a very good taqueria anywhere, and in this area it is simply the best.

Homemade corn and flour tortillas! Gorditas! 200 feet from my house! I smell trouble, lots of trouble. Yes, it’s true. This strip mall restaurant recently opened up, and aside from occasional slow service, I have been very impressed. All I’ve had are breakfast tacos, gorditas and their homemade chips and tortillas, and so far so very good. This is not a tex-mex joint, which is a positive in my book. There appear to not be any meals covered in mysterious, nuclear-proof bright orange cheese junk. Hooray! So, if you like your food covered with that mysterious nuclear-proof bright orange cheese junk, I suggest you hightail it over to one of the several subpar restaurants in Georgetown. An added bonus is the counter. I’m not sure what it is about eating at a counter that draws me in, but it does. Most, but not all, of the seating here is at the counter. Asides from the food, and in my case, the counter, the building itself is nothing special, inside or out. It’s a standard strip mall motif. But really, who cares? We’re talking about good fresh comfort food here people, not interior design.
