Let me start by saying how excited I was to use a local family-owned jewelry store to repair a small diamond that had fallen out of my engagement ring and to put a new battery in my grandmother’s watch. But boy was I extremely disappointed with the customer service and communication I received. The day I brought my jewelry in for repair I was quoted that it would cost 35 dollars to repair the missing diamond and that it would take 2 weeks to be returned to me. This was completely fine and I handed over my jewelry. Two weeks passed and I called to check on the status of my ring and watch and was told that it was still in the«jeweler’s box», meaning it would be worked on soon. A few days later I went into the store with my mother who was picking up a piece of jewelry she had dropped of on the same day as mine, so I checked once again to see if it was ready. The women told me it was still in the«jeweler’s box» and should be worked on this week. I called the following week and was again told that my pieces were still in the«jeweler’s box». Feeling a little frustrated and wanting to wear my wedding ring on my anniversary trip the following week I asked if there was anyway I could have it by that Saturday. She told me she would talk to the jeweler and would call me back… The jeweler called me back and informed me that when he had worked on my ring, the gold band had been cracked and had sent off my ring without my knowledge or permission to a laser-shop to be repaired and would not be ready for at least another week. I thought that they should have called me before sending my ring somewhere else and potentially costing more than they had quoted me. But I asked if my watch was ready at least and they told me it was. I went in to get it, brought the watch home and realized the battery was still not working. I brought the watch back in where he put in a new battery saying he did not realize he was supposed to replace the battery(the whole reason the watch was brought in). Anyway, he replaced it and I took it home to discover it was still not working. So I just gave up on that. Fast forward to the day they told me my ring would be ready. I called the store very pleasant and I was answered by the jeweler who had been working on my ring. He was extremely defensive right off he bat telling me my ring would be ready tomorrow. He then went on to tell me that«just because a ring is cheap does not mean it’s good, it means it’s cheaply made». He was trying to take the blame off of him and onto us. I was very insulted and told him I didn’t appreciate him calling my engagement ring cheap and he went on to dig himself into a bigger hole. I told him I was frustrated with the situation and he answered that he was frustrated too because he thought he would be «making money off my deal, not losing it». EXTREMELY unprofessional, arrogant and rude. When I went to pick it up today with my husband the jeweler continued to insult me and complain about how he did not make money off me. In the end, one month later, I spent 250 dollars to get my ring back, the jeweler claiming he «split the cost with me», not sure if I believe him or not. He told me he knew how to handle business deals but I beg to differ. During this conversation the older jeweler and his wife did not jump in to help smooth out the situation and would just occasionally stare at us from their office area. In the end, my ring was returned to me in good condition but I will NEVEREVER use this jewelry store again.

This review is based off my personal experience as well as friends as I had referred. First I had two wedding bands combined into one. The ring was delivered on time and budget. Hence I referred others there… now the other story… Their review is on this page under«Allison.» Bottom line is they had a bad experience and the owners and head jeweler did nothing to make it better. The jeweler was unnecessarily rude and made my young friends wife cry… STOP…NOEXCUSE to ever treat anyone this way… So if you don’t mind taking a chance on meeting mr Hyde instead of dr. Jeckyll, then go for it. As for me I believe business bullies are the worst and no longer will recommend them to anyone. I am embarrassed for them and apologized to my friend for the owner who refused to and instead chose being a bully… what a sad excuse for a man! There are other Jewelers in the area give them a try.

I drove all the way from Lakeway to The Jeweler this after asking around and being referred there by a friend who raved. The owner John is fantastic! I needed a particular item and help with finding it and John answered ALL of my questions and even shared tons of information about all different types of jewelry that I found VERY interesting. What was such a wonderful surpise is I found something I LOVED there that I didn’t even expect to be able to find there and especially that day! What was even more shocking is that he told me the truth in that a less expensive piece looked better than something more expensive on me! How wonderful is that?! I felt so comfortable with him I decided to have him make me some earrings as well. I will be a repeat customer! He made me excited about jewelry. You do not find customer service like this anymore… its SONICE to know it still exists! You will not be disappointed!
