VERYDISSAPOINTED! This is the dirtiest motel I have ever been in, carpets are filthy, bath tub was disgusting and security sucks the door is a screen door that just barely locks I do not recommend ever staying here I know I wont be! And like one of the other reviews on here says there is barely any air conditioning we had to go buy a fan to help cool the room. I would give negative 5 stars if I could.

I felt like this place would have been a perfect spot for a John Candy, Dan Akroyd, Chevy Chase disaster vacation/getaway comedy. Here’s what you need to know: 1. Bugs. Everywhere. On the carpet. In the bathrooms. In the beds. 2. Dirty. Bathrooms were not well-cleaned. It felt like being barefoot on the carpets was an «at-your-own-risk» adventure. The furniture was pretty gross, especially the beds. 3. The place is in serious need of updating. It’s one thing to be an older place(there are many nice old places to stay in the world), it’s another to be completely rundown from negligence. This place looks like hasn’t been touched since in was built in the 1960’s. 4. The bathrooms do not have proper ventilation for the showers, and as a result, some of them had mold. 5. The TVs do not work. 6. Creepy management/owners. 7. Despite what is advertised, the pool is rather small. They also attempt to fill it with water from the downspout located on an adjacent cabin. 8. Bring your own soap and shampoo unless you want to pay extra for those luxury items. You also might want to bring an RV to stay in if you’re visiting GOTL, because honestly, I think places like this are par-for-the-course there. I believe the rate for this place was $ 200-$ 250 a night. Needless to say, that is a significant overcharge. If it weren’t for the occasion for being there, and the company, this would have been an absolutely miserable stay.

Definitely do not stay here if you have young kids! The place was dirty, smelled TERRIBLE and was very buggy. It is in desperate need of updating. We booked a week but checked out after 3 days because we couldn’t bear it any longer. Also very overpriced for what it offers.

So, it was a while ago that we had the, um, occasion to stay here. We used to stop in Geneva on our way to camp when we were kids, and my mom thought it would be fun for us to go again, and bring my little girls. We had hoped to get a motel with a pool, and this one was one of the few places near the strip that had one. While the details are thankfully sort of fuzzy, some things are burned into my brain. In bullet point fashion, but not form, I will list them. The carpeting is burnt orange, sticky, and has a million bugs on it, both dead and alive. My girls thought it was pretty, however, they also truly enjoy bugs. We did not remove our shoes the whole day. The pool was covered, and upon asking if it was able to be used, they informed us that it was, if we felt like uncovering it. The second bed, was in a hallway. Seriously. Yes, they wrapped the hallway in some sort of sheet metal, but it was still a hallway. The door, protecting me from the elements and creepers, was basically a screen type door. The furniture in my part of the«room» was very old outdoor furniture. There was also some motel«stuff» being stored in my sleeping quarters. There was no A/C even though it is listed as having it. We had one fan, but seeing as the second bed was not even in the actual motel room, one was not enough. Thanks to aforementioned super safe screen doors, I was able to procure one from a neighboring room(don’t worry, it was not in use). Finally, and this is not the motels fault, but we walked over to the«beach» where there were tons of people swimming. We didn’t go in, but upon heading back to our car, we noticed a lifeguard hammering a sign into the sand. It read«High bacteria levels, and unsafe swimming conditions» or something to that effect. Glad we didn’t go in… would hate to be the person climbing out of the water and noticing the newly posted sign. We asked the girls what their favorite part of the weekend was, and they both said«The dead squirrel we saw when we first pulled in». Yay Memories! Did I mention that this place was 100 bucks a night! Not expensive, by a long shot, but this is the kind of stay I would expect from a 29 dollar place.
