This place is across from The Litte Traveler. I was on a rush but ordered a milk shake from chocolate coconut. Oh my gosh. It was so amazingly delicious. Not too sweet, just perfect. While I was waiting for my drink I noticed they have so many things. They have all sorts of milk or dark chocolate covered stuff. The place looks pretty cool. It has a nice sitting area. I’ll definitely be coming here again. Geneva down town seems very nice.

Walking around downtown Geneva and I come across a town favorite, Kilwin’s Chocolates & Ice Cream, and decided to check it out. I walk in and I felt like a little kid in a candy shop. I’m greeted by server named Ben and asked what he could get us. I explained that it was our first time being here and we were checking things out. Ben said that they hand make their fudge there in the shop and offered some to us. I asked what their most popular fudge was and Ben said the sea salt caramel fudge was pretty popular. He gave me and my date a piece and we were in heaven! The blend of the sea salt and caramel, even though I’m not a fan of caramel, melted together with the fudge had me knocked out with delight! After giving us fudge, he asked what our favorite ice cream was and I asked if they carried blue moon. «What?! You’re seriously asking me that?! Of course we do!,» Ben said. If I didn’t die before from the fudge, I certainly died from him saying they had blue moon. Most of the time, I have a difficult time finding blue moon ice cream so when I heard they carried it, my heart fluttered. Although my date and I didn’t get ice cream because we had gotten some earlier, I know next time, Kilwin’s is my go to place!

Kilwins feels like your everyday neighborhood ice cream /candy parlor… except it’s a franchise. Regardless, I love walking inside and perusing all the candies, fudge, ice cream… My girlfriend and I usually share a waffle cone with a single scoop, which comes to about $ 5.25(I think). This is heavily leaning towards the expensive side, but we both agree the ice cream is delicious and sometimes you pay for the experience as well. What could be better getting a cone and walking around downtown Lake Geneva? This is certainly not an everyday affair, but do try to stop in if you’re in the area.

Overall, Kilwins is a great shop for ice cream and sweets. A bit on the expensive side, but the sales staff is friendly and helpful and they have a big variety of items. I shopped here today for fudge with a groupon. Sadly, the fudge was a big disappointment. I believe the main problem stems from how the fudge is displayed in a loaf cut into 1 inch slices. The outside of the fudge on every side was very dry and hard. I chose the 2 flavors I purchased based on the sales girl saying they were made that day, but it seemed like it had sat out in the air much longer than that. The French Silk flavor was creamy and tasty on the inside, but the majority of the slice was inedible. The chocolate peanut butter flavor was not as creamy overall, but just as dry and hard on the outside. I threw most of the fudge away. I would try other items at Kilwins, but I would never buy the fudge again.

We stopped in yesterday while attending the Concours d’Elegance car show. It was about 105 degree’s with the heat index so business was hopping. The lines weren’t unreasonably long and this Kilwin’s has a good number of tables/seats counting those in and outside. Luckily we were able to nab three bar stools next to the fudge production counter. The service was pretty good considering the lines. Kilwin’s never disappoints with their ice cream selection. It’s very heavy and really good no matter which flavor you choose. Normally they offer samples and I believe they were yesterday, but when the place is packed it’s best to know what you want by the time you reach the counter. I had a couple scoops of the salted caramel which was as good or better than any I’ve ever had. I’m also a fan of the toasted coconut flavor, although I’ve only had that at a Kilwin’s in MI. If you’re looking for a fully leaded ice cream Kilwin’s is a safe bet. They aren’t cheep though.

Very clean and the staff was very customer oriented. However 7.47 is crazy for a milkshake. Fudge was good. Again very expensive. I won’t be back. I found it interesting the store had prices listed on the candy however the ice cream section had no listed prices.

The ice cream is satisfying and we mostly go to this business when Graham’s down the street is too busy. The service is no where near what we experience at Graham’s. Recently my young daughter asked for a child’s scoop of ice cream in a waffle cone and she was treated like they were doing her a huge favor, she was nearly embarrassed to pay for the cone. When I asked to speak to a manager, of course there wasn’t anyone around. I watched the counter as I waited for her scoop of ice cream and I don’t think I was the only one that was so dissatisfied with the service, they are short and some were to the point of being rude. I have refused to bring my family back there, I’d rather wait in line at Graham’s and be treated more like a customer than a pain.

Sea salted caramel ice cream. Peanut butter chocolate ice cream. Whoa. All that you could ask for. The biggest thing working against Kilwin’s here is the location — new construction just doesn’t have the charm of the older 3rd street vibe. There are plenty of chocolate shops in the area, and I’m likely to stay loyal to the killer goods at Graham’s…but for unique ice cream a little off the beaten path, Kilwin’s is a solid pick.

Great place to stop buy if you are looking for a nice treat. Service was great… place was clean… and the ice cream… ohhhh the ice cream was just so good! Nice big one scoop! And it tasted just right… not too sugary… and my chocolate chip had a lot of chips :-)

Great atmosphere. Candy/treats all looked beautifully crafted and delicious. Sample the different fudge and ice cream. Got the Blueberry ice cream with chunks of waffle cone in it — awesome.

The minute you step into Kilwins, you are welcomed with a warm greeting, and the amazing aroma of chocolate. The employees all seem kind, and very informative. I got the chocolate covered marshmallows(Yum!), caramel striped marshmallow(sticky, but delicious), caramel striped rice krispie(omg, yum!), and a peanut butter puff thing(saving that for my husband). Overall, I was very pleased with my confections, and definitely thought they were worth the price!
