We loved our stay here, great, clean rooms, friendly people, close to everything, but far enough away to enjoy nature. Great homemade breakfast. I would go back, I do recommend

We loved our stay with Dan and Karen. In the crazy Gatlinburg this is really a gem. Quiet, personal and well taken care off. We stayed in the fernside mini suite down the stairs. The only room available when we made a last minute reservation. A room with everything you need(and don’t need). A little fridge, tv, dvd, lots of outlets and a comfortable bed and excellent shower. Because the room was down a steep and small flight of stairs Dan even offered to take our luggage through their private residence to avoid unneccessary hustle. For breakfast you’re asked to make an choice of three entrees and three kind of meats. Mostly an egg dish, some kind of pancakes and a third choice, for instance oatmeal or French toast. And when Dan noticed that I made no choice besides toast he asked me if he could make something different than the menu offered. A beautiful gesture. Because I think my hubby is right: I’m not an easy eater. During the day you can take as much coffee, tea, soda and homemade sweats as you like. So you’re well taken care off. There was just one little dissapointment: no bears. But Dan’s stories about the bear encounters around the house definitly made up for that. Be sure to ask him to tell them. A few days after our stay we received a nice email from Dan and Karen asking about our stay and offering a discount for our next visit. I like that. And please excuse any grammar and spelling mistakes. English is not my first language. And if that isn’t enough, my Apple device keeps trying to autocorrect the English words into ‘proper Dutch’. Yes, you’ve guessed right: my first language.
