This place is awesome! It is a hole in the wall place, nothing fancy, but the foods are AWESOME! We ordered 3 appetizers and 1 hot soup. Appetizers are Sausage and Papaya salad and one sticky rice ball with peanuts and pork. All of them are out of the world GOOD! We also ordered the beef stomach soup, if you are the true Asian, you will appreciate the favor of the soup. I will definitely be back!

Superb service and excellent food!!!
The owner and her son (I think) are usually the ones at the front desk taking to go orders, and they’re always courteous! I’ve never had a bad experience here, I usually order take out, and haven’t dined in. But, while I sit and wait for my order, I can see that their customer service to those who are dining in are very prompt!
I love their food! I usually order the sticky rice, chicken larb, papaya salad, kow piek, and lad na! All of those are seasoned so well! Lots of flavor, and fresh! You definitely can’t beat that! I always make the drive for good food, and this place is at the top of my list!

I have no idea what the other reviewers were talking about. The guy that took my order was super nice and kind. I hope you really give it a chance.
The food and Boba tea are possibly the best I’ve had in Dallas. Very reasonable price and huge portion.
We will be regulars here.

I do not mind driving 40 minutes to get take out from this place to feed my fellow employees. There are ZERO authentic Lao and Thai places in North Dallas area. A lot of places call themselves «authentic» but you would never find that cooking in that home country.
You can not go wrong with spicy papaya salad, sticky rice, Lao sausage and chicken wings.

Overall good restaurant when you have cravings for authentic Thai/​Lao good.
Some dishes were a little hit or miss, but the Tom Yum is some of the best I’ve ever had.
Rather rude and unenthusiastic waitstaff by a kid who seemed to hate his life. Try to cheer him up if you visit. For his sake.

My friends kept raving about this hole in the wall so I finally came to check it out with them. And it didn’t disappoint! Don’t be fooled by the outside appearance of the place because the food is delicious!
I got a Vietnamese dish called banh canh, and it was so great! The noodles were freshly made and the soup base was so refreshing! It was nice having a good meal that tasted like home.
My friends got pad Thai, and they said it was a little saucy but the flavor was good, I personally liked it so I guess it is up to your preference on taste!
The only thing is that you will have to wait over 30 – 40 minutes for your food, the service there is very slow, but I think it’s because the food isn’t heated up or microwaved.

In one month I ate here a total of 6 times. That’s more than once a week. I love flavorful food and SBT has it. The owners make visiting much more enjoyable. She knows my orders and I can rap her language. I feel totally gangster when I can rock the Laos. Warning, sometimes she’s heaven on the salt aka fish sauce. Be warned if you have high BP.

Wow, this did not live up to all the hype on Unilocal.I was in Garland and went to Unilocal to help me figure out what to have for lunch. I came in with a party of 5. We were promptly seated. Our drink orders were taken. I ordered the strawberry boba tea. It was great, it was the best part of the meal. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai. My boys ordered the shrimp fried rice. It took 30 minutes to get our order. This was strange because we were the only people in the place. The food was nothing special. I was really disappointed, I was in the mood for some good Thai. :(

I will never give this place a try. We walked in wanting boba. The lady filled the small clear cup to the brim with ice. We didn’t want so much ice and asked for light ice; she said there would be a $ 0.50 charge if she took more ice out. We decided not to get anything and she rudely said «BYE!»

The food was okay, the tea milk was amazing, and the service was slow. I probably would have thought the food was better if we hadn’t had to wait for so long for it. The kids got impatient and grabbed a set of chopsticks each and started playing with them. An employ came out and asked them to stop playing with the chopsticks. When we needed something, we had to find our waiter; who was just sitting. He was very nice though. After being there forever and dying to leave because the kids had been there too long, we had to find our waiter and ask for the check, then find him again to pay.
Point is, call in your order and do take out.

SBT is small, quiet, and has quick service. I had the pad thai as it was my first time there and generally try it out as a baseline test. It was probably the best pad thai I’ve ever had! I think a lot of Thai places in Texas add too much sugar but this place went all out on the tamarind and peanut. Delicious. A friend came with and tried a huge mess of fresh seafood with flat noodles. I’ll be returning, with cash in hand.

We had dinner there last night. The food was mediocre. Ordered 4 dishes and sticky rice. The papaya salad (mild). All I could taste was the tamarind sauce. Maybe I have to tell them not to put that in there. The larb gai (chicken salad) was bland, where’s the fish sauce, dried & fresh peppers and roasted sticky rice. The intestine soup was okay the broth didn’t taste clean. However, the beef pad Thai was REALLY good. It was really hot on there. Maybe thier a/​c was broken. They had fans blowing but not in the dining area. What made the experience good was the waiter was very nice and attentive and checked on customers often for a drink refill.

Got chicken laab, 1 small side of sticky rice, and papaya salad to go. Although we ordered mild the papaya salad was pretty spicy! (And I can handle spicy). Still good though. Chicken laab (contains slices of gizzard) was mainly dark meat (which is awesome cuz I prefer that over white meat). Overall, food was delish. Service was ok. Took us a good 30 minutes to get our to-​go order though. There were desserts, drinks, and other to-​go items in the fridge for your convenience.

If you like thai style curry I would recommend this place highly. So far I’ve tried the phở, very tasty, the kaeng ped with beef (awesome). One a previous visit I had the loation style papaya salad. It was good but next time I will try I thai style. The chicken larb (minced chicken mixed with mint onions (fish sauce probably) served with lettuce for wrapping or to make as a salad was excellent. It’s offered with beef shrimp a day shrimp also. I look forward to trying more of more of the menu like to stir fries for example

My go to place whenever I crave lao/​thai food! Never once dissatisfied with anything I order here everything is literally good! Love the chicken wings and papaya salad lol! Soo affordable and close to home!
