Service is the biggest problem at this café. On my last visit we waited 15 minutes to have anyone come take our drink orders. We each ordered chili dogs. Forty minutes later we were still waiting for the hotdogs! Seriously? But wait, that’s not the worst part. When we finally got our chili dogs, they were so salty we couldn’t eat them. I’ve eaten here several other times, and never has the food been so bad. Hopefully this was a fluke. But the service has always been slow and unprofessional. Even though the wait staff is young people, they can still be properly trained.

Cute fun looking place. Smoothie was ok, naked burger ok, nothing that sticks out or makes me want to come back. Waitstaff sarcastic, cleanliness ok, food ok.

Love this place! Reminds me of going to Thunder Bumpers back in the 80’s. Wonderful cheeseburgers!!! And the staff couldn’t be nicer! I need to try some other things but so far every time I go, I just get a burger because I know it’s gonna rock.

The food is pretty good, but the service is not. Very slow service each of the 5 times I’ve been there. That’s why I gave you 3 stars because of service.

Great Food, great service, great old fashion vibe and love the music that plays on. The kids and I ordered a BLT and a kids burger. We also ordered a Coffee malt and that was delish! Cool chill spot in dtown Garland with an old style dinner vibe. The decoration is cool and music was on point. Mostly all staff was young but very attentive. They offer cheese cakes and little truffles of chocolate. They close at 7 Pm.

We went there later in the day around 5 p.m. I called first and they said they were open. We ordered sandwiches(2 grilled cheese, a turkey and a club), soup and fries. It took 30 minutes to get our order. My club was just some lunch meat and 2 slices of paper thin bacon on wheat bread — not stacked like I would expect a club to be. Just lunch meat on 2 slices of bread. I used to go regularly before they moved and I enjoyed it. Maybe they need to go back to closing after lunch. We eat out every Thursday and this won’t be part of the rotation.

If you want a homey place with good food, this is the place! Cheeseburger was large and good, yet not greasy. Very lean meat with good seasoning. The hand cut fries were excellent. Can’t wait to go back for other things. Very clean and friendly place. A must try burger and malt shoppe.

I had no idea this place existed before today. I was actually looking for a place to park that was closer to a different diner. I pulled into an empty spot to check my email before making yet another circle through downtown. Then I looked up. «1950’s Diner» the sign exclaimed. «Why not?» I thought, and I went on in. I’m glad I did! The food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the people friendly. They really do serve 1950’s diner food… You can get a fried bologna sandwich here if you so desire. I had a tuna salad sandwich on a kaiser roll, and it was fantastic. I will be returning here for lunch many times in the future.

I love everything about this place. Got there right at 11 and the waitress, I believe her name was Claire, was SO friendly and sweet. I was the only one in the restaurant so early but she made me feel very welcome, made small talk, and I asked her if she recommended the chicken salad, tuna or the pimento cheese. She recommended the chicken and I couldn’t have been happier. Got my sandwich— for $ 4 it was a generous helping of homemade all-white-meat chicken salad with grapes and pecans in it, on fresh wheat bread, with a side of pasta salad(you can sub chips, fries, etc) and a pickle spear. DELICIOUS and extremely fresh, tasted wonderful. I was too full to try any dessert this time but I’ll absolutely be back since everything is made from scratch and oh-so-tasty. Adorable retro 50s décor; a little kitschy and cheesy but that’s part of the charm! Feels like an old soda fountain /place like from«Happy Days». Very family and kid-friendly!

My mother and I stopped here on 12÷6÷2014 for lunch after a chiropractor appointment. I like trying new places, and I am glad I tried this one. The food was fresh and the service was attentive. I ordered a burger, and it took a little bit to get… because it was made fresh for me(you could taste it). My mom had a chicken sandwich which she enjoyed a lot, too. We ordered home made pie for dessert(also excellent). I will be coming back!

SO glad we chose to come here on small business Saturday! Great atmosphere and excellent homemade food. Root beer from Dublin is awesome. The cook asks if the kids meal is for a boy or girl and how old so she can cut the sandwich into cool shapes. This was our first visit but my daughter already wants her birthday party here! Homemade desserts are fantastic!
