Absolutely delicious! This place is fantastic, it’s what I imagine a dinner in the past would feel like. The breakfast was amazing… simple, classic, and delicious. Pancakes are important to round out a great breakfast experience and this place delivered with their buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes were soft and fluffy… just the right texture for syrup. To make the experience even better, the price was more than reasonable. For a great diner experience, you must try this place.

The food is pretty good here. The service was decent. I’m not sure that I’d return because it is a bit out of the way for me, but it wasn’t bad either. I’d say it is average or just slightly better than average.

Rolling up to this place, gave me cause for concern. I even had husband double check that we were in the right place. Found it on Unilocal and had good reviews. So we went inside and like the Tardis, it was bigger on the inside than on the outside. This cute kitchy little American diner had two main rooms with people bustling about. We’ve only had breakfast but that is what keeps us coming back. The meats. oh the meats. Ham that melts in your mouth, bacon that crumbles just right and steak as tender as can be. The hash browns are tasty and the bisquits flaky. I prefer sausage gravy to their country white gravy, but it’s still tasty. Staff are always friendly and our coffee cups never empty.

Family and I wanted to try a local diner type joint for lunch. My son wanted to sit at the counter so there we were a family of four at the counter. It was actually a fun experience and the food was good. Service is mainly by high school girls and they were all friendly and helpful. I’m glad we went there and I imagine this will be on the rotation for us to go back when we are visiting the square.

For breakfast 12÷6÷15 @ 10 am Dammit Hubbard’s. We have been dining at the Hubbard’s in Garland for years. Cost-wise, it’s a little more expensive than other places but the food and service are largely consistent and it’s local. On the RARE occasion a minor food/service faux pas has occurred, the strength of the food or the wait staff has always carried the day. But now, I’m irritated. Not a good thing for loyal customers to be. First, the service was absolute and utter crap. We sat for 5 to 10 minutes waiting for a waitress. You’d think one of the 3 standing behind the counter staring at the wall might have noticed me.(they were NOT making little utensil/napkin packets or drinks) I’m 6’2″ and had on a bright red«Flash» logo t-shirt. Hard to miss. The older Hispanic guy who has worked their forever noticed us and got us coffee. He was getting us menus when our waitress deigned to grace us with her presence and intercepted him. Kenya(our waitress) please, for love of diners everywhere, find another job. You took our order and brought our food. You didn’t check on us once and the place was not packed. I usually tip something. My only tip for you is a vocation change. Also, black fingernails on a server look dirty and nasty when you hand customers their food. Attitude is everything, and yours sucked ass. Second, the food failed. My omelet had an undercooked snot bomb center. Please god, don’t let me get salmonella. My wife’s pancakes were served cold and her hash browns tasted«plasticy». My son had the only non-ick breakfast. I don’t like paying $ 40.00 for the occasional breakfast out and leaving pissed off because it felt like a waste of money. We have a 2 crap meal rule. That was one Hubbard’s. Don’t make it two. And to that Hispanic older guy(wish I had gotten his name), thank you very much. If any of the waitresses had 1⁄10th your energy and focus, we could have overlooked the cooking missteps. I made sure my wife gave you a $ 5 tip directly because you kept our coffee full, checked on us and were incredibly pleasant and fun. All the things that Kenya the Disenchanted Dark Queen of Emo-ness should have been doing, you did with great verve and aplomb. Thank you from my entire family. You sir, rock.

Came here for a Sunday breaky with the bf. The place is super homey with all its decorations and even bikes hanging overhead. Jac was our waitress and she was absolutely perfect. I ordered an egg with 2 bacons, hash brown and toasts. The bf got 2 pancakes with eggs, a bacon, and a sausage. The dishes were as homemade as they can get. Where I am from, when the serving staff are mostly teenagers/students, they usually are not as nice or helpful. I was completely in awe being here as Jac was wonderful, and the two older gentlemen came by were jolly too, and looking around, all the other younger serving staff seemed really nice and smiling from ear to ear! Big thumbs up!!! Will bring friends next time.

My husband and I had first stumbled upon this warm and friendly café when we were first dating and have gone once after that with family members. We are both big fans of brunch items and Hubbard’s met all our expectations and more. Everything we’ve ordered has been delicious. From pancakes, french toast, waffles, sausage, eggs, hash browns and coffee! We love their adorable coffee cups as well! It gets quite busy, especially on weekends, but the wait has never been outrageous. The waitresses were kind and helpful as well. Love this café and definitely recommend it!

Over the summer I had to go to the TX workforce center which is right behind it. One day I was super early so it was early in the AM and I decided to get some breakfast. It was the basic eggs, hash browns, toast and coffee. The Mayor of Garland hangs out there and seems to be a popular place in the morning. Every time I have to go to the workforce place I make sure my apt is in the AM for the breakfast. I need to try the burgers one day. BTW: They also have a Hot waitress staff. I would give 5 stars but sometimes it takes a while for a refill of coffee.

Food was ok. I had the French toast and he had the Bubba burger(which he said was not good at all). We will not be back because it took 40 mins to receive our food. We weren’t even hungry anymore. Our waiter and I guess the cook apologized and kept saying it would be out soon… which it wasn’t.

Went here with my wife for breakfast. It is my kind of place in that it is a one off, original, old fashioned restaurant. Our service was very good. I liked the Hubbard Special omelette but my wife said her Migas were very greasy. I like to find new places for breakfast or lunch and I would try this place again. My wife feels differently, so that may not happen!

I went in on Wednesday with my girlfriend, and it was a pleasant experience. I ordered an omelette with a side of bacon, she ordered a burger with a side of fries. Food came out relatively quickly, and was pretty good. The girlfriend loved the burger and fries, and was disappointed she couldn’t finish it all. The waitress was busy but friendly enough, and the atmosphere was relaxed and laid back. I’d definitely recommend this place to eat, and if you find yourself in Garland, go check it out!

I had breakfast here for the first time and it was great! The building kind of resembles a rundown shack so upon arrival we were not sure if we would go in but we are glad we did. You have to seat yourself which is okay with me. The service and the food was great! No complaints. I will be back to try lunch soon. :)

We ate here today for the first time. I had breakfast — while the eggs, hash browns and bacon were good, I was so disappointed in the biscuit and gravy. Not only was the biscuit not warm at all, but the gravy was absolutely tasteless. I added a ton of salt and pepper to no avail. It was a bummer! If I come back I’ll try the Belgian waffle.

I was looking for a country-style restaurant and this place definitely hit the spot. Their biscuits are monstrosities but they are fluffy and sinfully yummy. The French toast was perfect! Not too eggy, nice fluff to it and had a nice hint of sweetness to it. Coffee was bland but I couldn’t complain because my French toast and biscuit more than made up for the coffee’s short comings. The décor is unique and gives the place a cozy and reminiscent feel.

Was in the hood and craving breakfast, this place was packed which is a good sign. Ordered the Hubbard Sampler: — Eggs: perfect just like I ordered them. — Ham: tasty. — bacon: crispy. — sausage: divine. — hashbrowns: weird texture but tasted good. — pancakes: horrible, bone dry, no amount of butter or syrup could save these pucks. — Iced Tea: perfect.

Wanted to try a new spot for breakfast, and wanted a nice, southern option so I hit up Hubbard’s Cubbard. Inside looked like a diner, and the waitresses cycle through to make sure you have what you need and a nice man that carried a pot of coffee to top off your coffee mug. I had an omelette, with biscuits and gravy, coffee and all of them were fantastic. Really hit the spot and didn’t leave hungry. Definitely a spot for a nice homecooked style meal.
