this is the worst first chinese bbq on earth. the food is good the service is bad. the manager needs to be fired. i ordered 20 $ worth of food and asked for a chili sauce and a duck sauce with my food and they told me they are going to charge $ 1 extra each for the sauce. i had to stay with them on the phone for 10 minutes arguing why the hell im getting charged extra when im purchasing 20 $ worth of food. cheapskates. this isnt the first time its happened. they always try to be extremely greedy and charge you for every single thing. dont give in to their greediness.

Though we’re from Houston(where good asian food is aplenty) and it was our second time here, we were treated poorly… as if they didn’t want us back. At one point they might have been the only good family style asian food in Dallas but that isn’t the case anymore(psst…give Jeng Chi a try if you want a clean atmosphere with great service) The food came out quickly but after that it was downhill. They brought out the check to us while we were still eating, and never came around to refill water. The final straw was that the manager tried to stop us from leaving saying something like«tip isn’t included» without checking the most obvious place — at the table. I dig the food here, I really do, but I can’t recommend this location. I think the problem with First Chinese BBQ doesn’t come from the food quality, but the attitude of the staffers. The idle staffers will stare at you, and they’ll act like once the food is out you’re not there… if you can let stuff like that roll off of your back you’ll be fine though. CASHONLY. Now the good: BBQ duck: a good size, juicy and roasted to perfection Combination pan fried noodles: crunchy but soft, not too salty House fried rice: not too oily, and very light Beef with snow peas and mushrooms: you might like it if you like mushrooms Won ton soup: the won-tons are some of the best I’ve had

If you know what to order, this place is pretty good. There are some items on the menu that is okay and others are decent. The mi Hoanh thanh Xa xiu is good and it’s only $ 6.50. Their bbq(duck, roast pork, Xa xiu) is also good. Some good side dishes are fried rice, muc rang muoi, Rau muong, mi xao don are also really good. Place is pretty cheap and good pricing. Downfall is they only take cash and don’t accept any credit cArds.

This place is disgusting! Seriously, Unilocal should let me do a negative star rating. We ordered food to go, the place is less than 3 miles from my house. The food was cold and old! I will never order from here and no one else should either.

INTRODUCTIONTOCHINESEFOOD First Chinese BBQ features Chinese food that Chinese people actually eat when they are looking for a Chinese restaurant. Although it is not the most glamourous or flavorful restaurant, it does a huge variety of Chinese rice, noodle, and BBQ plates to offer. First thing you see upon walking in is the display of roasted duck and steamed chickens hanging around on hooks, an homage to butchers of the past. But let’s focus on the food… The Food: Roasted Duck, Wonton Noodle Soup, Duck Leg Noodle Soup. Roasted Duck: SICKOFBEEF? GETTHISDUCK. You have never had duck unless its Chinese Roasted Duck. Roasted in a combination of spices(including Star Anise, Cloves, and others that I’m not too sure about), this duck exudes in meaty, ducky, and fatty flavors enhanced with the complexities of the spice combination. Perfect accompanied with steamed white rice and green, leafy vegetables. Go for the duck breast meat, which gives you the most meat, but also a serious taste into the duck meat and spices. You can always get half a duck or a whole duck to take home. Wonton Noodle Soup: NOWAVAILABLEINTHEFROZENSECTION. Great wontons takes a lot of effort to make, but much less effort to eat and enjoy. The wontons that I had were the opposite: most likely took little effort to make, but it took a lot of effort to stomach. The pork filling does not contain shrimp, which I am used to having at most places. In addition, the pork filling tastes somewhat old and overcooked(–1 star), and has the strong stinging flavor of preservatives(–1 star). The egg noodles were semi-soft, which is decent as long as they don’t become soggy in the soup. I would not suggest getting this unless you are really craving wontons. Try your hand at making homemade wontons. Duck Leg Noodle Soup: WAITER, THERE’S A LEGINMYSOUP. A roasted duck leg in a bowl of noodles, combining soothing noodle soup with the savory duck leg. The duck leg takes up 60% of the bowl surface, so it is a challenge to eat it. However, the noodles and plain soup work well to complement the savory duck leg. Definitely go for this if you’re thinking of getting the roasted duck, but you’re feeling noodle soup. The Verdict: TYPICALLUNCH First Chinese BBQ has a large variety of Chinese menu items that are much different than what you expect at Panda Express. The wontons are a huge miss, because they most likely are not homemade. The roasted duck will be homemade and provides a nice savory duck flavor, the quintessential Chinese household dinner centerpiece. The duck noodle soup encapsulates the full experience with a roasted duck leg and noodle soup. Try everything with the pickled jalapenos and satay(roasted chile in oil) sauce. This isn’t Panda Express folks, this is the closest to Chinese food that you may get in Garland.

I have been a customer of this restaurant for a while. As time has went on, the service continues to get worse. The staff are rude, disrespectful, and cheap. Harsh words, but after experiencing this kind of treatment multiple times, it must be said. My fellow colleagues and I have treated them with nothing but respect and asked only a few requests(that being what kind of food we preferred) yet they proceeded by bad-mouthing us in their own language. Also they continue to pressure us into buying the pricier food and deceiving us by being so consistent to the point where it gets irritable. I am honestly so disappointed to have such a negative review, but the treatment we have received(on multiple occasions) must not go unnoticed.

Food doesn’t taste as good as it used to. Everything is so salty. The hot pot, the calamari, the stir frys! I ordered a clam dish and THEREWEREMOREEMPTYSHELLSTHANACTUALCLAMSITSELF. I was so disappointed. Not worth the price at all. Basically all I got out of the meal was salt and shells.

I have been here a few times now. The food is salty, oily, and over seasoning. When you buy the roasted pig(the only thing that is decent here and it’s either super delicious or super crappy), make sure to look at the meat they cut before they give it to you. If you tell them I want 2 pounds and trust them, they will cut you the most crappy piece of meat possible on the rack(salty and dry). I would not recommend this place.

The food is too salty. I ordered wonton soup with roasted duck and mix combination marinated beef and pork. I don’t know what they have inside for the favors or seasoning but turn out it is really unacceptable. I got food poisoning. I think all the foods were leftover been cooked too many time. Be aware of this restaurant.

Ewww. Their beef with flat noodle and black bean sauce was tremendously oily. I felt like they poured a gallon of oil on my dish, and it may seem like an exaggeration but I’m probably not exaggerating! The taste of the dish was okay, despite the oil. They used too much sauce. The green bell pepper was cut into slices too huge and tasted not fresh. Their onion pieces were huge, too. I’ve tried their other foods and they taste okay. This restaurant is very Chinese. They have workers speaking in Chinese. From my experience here, nothing really stands out as totally delicious or amazing. Just average, judging on their food and customer service. I come here with my family when they want to get together and eat Chinese food. There is a parking lot in front. They have two doors for entry into the restaurant. Their bathroom is decent. Iced water is very tappy.

The employees here are straight up goddamn lazy. First I call them countless times in the car on my way to put in my order. No answer. I figured the workers were too lazy to answer so that’s fine, I’ll just order when I get there. I ordered a whole duck and garlic broccoli, which they horribly up-charged me on, I usually order this combination and it comes out to $ 24 and some change. This time was $ 28.75 and received no rice. I had to then argue with the man to give me rice. He kept telling me I came too late to receive rice(9pm… they close at 9:30). 30 minutes is plenty of time. Actually there were still people walking in when my order was ready. Several parties. I mentioned that the sign on the door says«open till 9:30pm EVERYDAY». He then told me that the sign is a lie. Then he huffs and puffs and gets me a small box of rice, mind you I ordered a WHOLE duck, and proceeded to tell me that rice was only for employees. What in the actual fuck??? I can put up with bad service, I am Vietnamese and most Vietnamese restaurants lack severely in service, but this is a whole other level of fucked up. When I got home I finally opened the duck to find no duck sauce. I’m sure the duck sauce is strictly for employees too? TLDR the food here is reserved only for employees and not for heinously over charged customers. Save your breath and go to the Richardson location. They may speak less english but it’s all worth the while.

This will be the worst review ever! Due to customer service. We went to the ATM because it was a cash only place. No problem. We only had enough to pay our bill unfortunately. BUTNEVERINMYLIFEWEREWEDEMANDEDTOTIP!!! First of all, the customer service was not on point. They checked on us once, and it took awhile just to get someone to get to go boxes. Mind that it was not busy ATALL. All the workers were talking loud amongst each other and my daughter asked me «why are they talking so loud??» My 7YEAROLD knows proper restaurant Etiquette! AND we felt like we were rushed out! Food: was ok. Nothing that blew my mind. I’ve had way better roasted duck, marinated chicken and pork than this. Yet this is what they’re suppose to be known for. Thumbs down. The place needed to be cleaned. Tables were dirty with wet stains including the chairs. Food crumbs on the floor. Walls were splattered with probably old food products. I can handle hole on the wall places, no biggie but service has to be key! Hell I say Bistro B has better service! And it’s not great there either!

A lot of our friends have small B day parties/anniversaries etc. here. «Small» in Viet means 110 person table. We have been here many times. I would never spend my own money here. There are far to many better places within a few blocks. I will say, that on 1 occasion every single dish was«good». But on every other occasion I have struggled to find«good» dishes. The Roast Duck and Pork are consistently«Bad» and thats the dish a Chinese BBQ joint is suppose to «Ace»

I usually come here to get some bbq pork and roast duck. But my recent visit didn’t make me happy at all. The guy who chops the meat made the pieces really huge. I would like it if he would cut the meat more thinly… I like the richardson location more.

I have eaten at their Greenville location, but the Garland location is newer. The food is just as good. We particularly like roast duck, and they did not disappoint. I would say their duck is as good as ones at Din Hoi Supermarket. The only drawback is the cash only policy.

This place is my new favorite place for Chinese Food! I live less than 5 minutes away so even though they do not deliver I can call them and by the time I arrive my food is read for pickup! That being said, their Wonton Soup with Shrimp is simply amazing! Best wonton soup I have ever eaten… They also have a number of dishes that are available at most Chinese delivery places, the only difference is that they taste more authentic. Also if you don’t like seeing ducks lined up and hanging by their necks you may want to overt your eyes when you walk in… You may also catch a glimpse of a roasted pigs head! My kind of place!

Despite the fact that service here is a little on the unfriendly side, well thats putting it nicely, they’re downright rude, I still keep coming back. Ehh I can handle rudeness but I can’t handle horrible service. Came here with my family after church, and was seated right away. It took over 15 minutes before anyone even asked us for a drink/food order. Once the food came out and we had finished eating, we had to hunt down any waiter to ask for our check. Regardless of the horrible service, a case could be made for the food. huge huge generous portions for cheap. This is definitely one of those«bang for your buck» type restaurants. Everything comes out piping hot, seating in ample, as is parking and the menu is extensive. I’m not too worried about the service here, mainly because I’m asian and I know how rude some asians are by nature… Give the place a shot, bring cash, and come hungry. Oh yeah, don’t be off put by the hanging carcasses of pigs, ducks and chickens when you walk in. They’re delicious.

this is the worse location I’ve ever been to. Their food is not consistent, sometimes its salty and sometimes its not enough. My mom likes this location because its convenient. Right next to the two Asian supermarkets so we could eat and go grocery shopping after. I usually get their duck and bbq pork on rice or with wonton noodle soup. They’re known for their Asian bbq stuff. The soup sometimes can be a tad bit on the higher sodium side. I couldnt finish my soup last time. I vow to never come back! My favorite location is the one off beltline near 75 in Richardson.
