Firewheel Coffee

This place is amazing! The coffee taste is rich and tasty. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is welcoming and joyful.

A casual place that I usually bring couple of friends here and have a nice talk. Clean and pretty organized. Love the variety of their menu and almost everything on it is tasty. Reasonable price. Staff is very nice and efficient.

Ok modern place near outbound shopping strip. Minimum food items here. High rated. Unclear about that.

I needed a new place to study, so I looked up coffee shops on Unilocal and this place popped up! Some of the items on the menu are printed very small and I couldn’t read it. I didn’t even bother with those. I turned to Unilocal to help me decide and saw a picture of the Frozen Salted Caramel Mocha. I was a little hesitant to get it because it just sounded really sweet, but at the same time, it looked so good! I went ahead and got it anyways. The cashier/​barista brought me my drink as I sat down unloading my stuff to study. That was really nice! When I got it, it looked even better than the picture I saw on Unilocal!I had mocha drizzled on the side of the cup. To my surprise, it wasn’t as sweet as I imagined it to be. But don’t get me wrong, it’s still pretty sweet for all you sweetness lovers! If you’re a little sensitive to sweet stuff, it might be a little overwhelming for you. But the saltiness of it really helped balance the flavors together. Overall, it’s nice and creamy, sweet and salty, and really good!
Ah, I forgot to mention that the Internet here was really bad. Sucks because I had some online assignments I needed to do but couldn’t. The only thing wrong with it, so 4 stars for that.
I came here to study on a Friday night and the atmosphere here was really calm and serene. Definitely a good first impression of this place and would probably be back here to study and grab a drink.

Overall (3.3 stars composite): Tasty coffee with great ambiance. Would have been a 4 star had it not been for the terrible internet and lack of shades on the overly bright windows.
Drinks/​Food (75% of 1.5 star total): Had the Firewheel Mocha and it was delicious. Their cold drinks are based off of cold brew, not hot espresso shots. The food selection is pretty non-​existent because they couldn’t get a breakfast business going.
Service (90% of 1 star total): Got a warm smile and great suggestions for my drink selection. Even got a friendly ear to bend because I needed someone to vent to. Great people here for sure.
Value (75% of ½ star total): Pretty standard pricing. You get your value here.
WiFi/​Power (25% of ½ star total): WiFI is awful here. Was told that the recent tornadoes damaged the ISP. Power outlets are very generous along the wall.
Seating (100% of ½ star total): Plenty of small square tables that can b. e mixed and matched to fit almost any sized party. A nice bank of sofa seats near the fireplace make things nice and cozy
Atmosphere (25% of 1 star total): Nicely appointed store with many contemporary accents, balanced by some antique styled ceiling setups. The big issue here is that there are no shades on the 2 walls that are windows. In the morning, the sunlight from the east is way too piercing. Owner said that he hasn’t purchased them due to cost. I’d really like it if he did that.

A lovely friendly local coffee shop filled with friends and activity on a cold damp day, Firewheel Coffee is a great place to grab a warm-​up on the way to – anywhere!
Love the blending of modern décor (Chihuky-​inspired chandelier) paired with old-​timey details, like the pressed tin Firewheel-​flower patterned ceiling and 1920s-​style fans.
Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
I got a Caramel Dulce drink, which really hit the spot on this damp and cold winter day.

Favorite place to grab coffee whenever I pass this area… love the hazelnut frap & have tried other funky creations that were yummy as well. Cute décor & large space for you and your friends to hang out for a bit. Friendliest owner too!

Decent if sweet coffee drinks. Pros include friendly service, $ 2 medium sized anythings on Tuesday mornings, and plenty of outlets throughout. There is a cozy area with comfy chairs surrounding a fireplace.
Cons. Wifi is slow. The room amplifies sound. People having loud conversations will ruin a quiet study environment and drown out the soothing background coffee music. The large windows don’t have shades, and it can feel as though you are an ant under a magnifying glass.

Love! Love! Love! this place. The coffee is good and I have not found a latte that I dont like. Atmosphere is always great.

We are here for an unplanned mini vacation and this is our last stop along the way. Loving this place! Seriously recommend. The coffee is out of this world, the coffee barista could be a little friendlier but he knows his coffee and is begrudgingly welcoming. Jennifer wants to swim in her coffee, i wouldn’t mind diving in… maybe my second cup. It’s real coffee, makes me rethink my Starbucks addiction!

They also have $ 2 Tuesday’s which is a great deal.
I have also tried the scones, worth ordering if you enjoy that type of thing.
All in all, plan to remain a repeat customer.

Great place to study! Not loud and annoying as some coffee places are, even with several customers. Atmosphere was warm with relaxing music playing in the background. Will come back more often.

Charming place with great coffee and a great atmosphere. The couches are comfortable and easy to work from. The owner took time to hand deliver the coffee and make recommendations based off what I like, except this coffee was superb. I highly recommend coming here if your a fan of great coffee!

Brian, the owner, is very caring and conscientious about everything they serve. You will find the atmosphere warm and inviting. The coffee is totally some of the best you’ll find in all of Dallas.
I’ve tried his hot coffee, the cold brew as well as iced drinks. Everything has been served with excellence in form and flavor. I love coming here to sit by the fireplace and get a lot of work done in the peaceful environment. Soft easy non-​distracting music plays in the background which creates a favored ambience.
You owe it to yourself to try this place.

I work for another Crimson Cup shop down in Austin, so I figured I would try this one out while in DFW. The barista eas extremely gentle and kind, and the jazz playing only added to the feel.
In the back corner the setup is almost like a living room, and is very easy to feel comfortable relaxing in.
Also…my drink was wonderful!

Didnt know about this place until my boyfriend and I was eating at Firehouse subs and saw folks leaving after eating here and walking by with coffee.
Of course. loving coffee houses went arpund the corner and whoa! Theres a
house behind here. Its tucked away and omg the coffee is delicious. The guy who took our order was courteous and said you can bring food from firehouse here. The coffee was so good.

My favorite coffee shop in Garland. I love that it is locally owned, and that the owner works there. Everyone there is so nice, and the atmosphere is very inviting. His crowd is very nice too. I just love that I can go there every day and know that I will be welcomed. Plus the coffee is good, the service is great, and the owner is always so pleasant.
I haven’t went into a Starbucks in a long time because of this place! ;)
For anyone who loves locally owned places, and is looking for good coffee, and wants to make sure that the big dog (aka Starbucks) doesn’t rid us of our hidden gems… I highly recommend supporting this awesome place!
