Went there today for some small and ribs. I ordered a full slab which was to include 13 small and ribs what I received was eight ribs that were overcooked the rest were scrapped the meet was like jerky the potato salad was good. I paid almost $ 28.00 for this lesson I won’t be going back Woody’s here I come for my small and ribs which are meaty and tender and flavorful.

I ordered a combination plate with pork ribs and chicken and coleslaw lunch. I was given the white portion of a chicken without having to request it. I must admit that this is one of the best homemade coleslaw I’ve ever had. Thank you.

Hmmm… what can I say here. This place is around the corner from where they filmed the classic motion picture«Friday» which is kind of a big deal to me. After reading mixed reviews on Unilocal I still decided to drop by. Ordered a pound of rib tips and potato salad to go. Lets start with the tips, they were tough almost like beef jerkey, no smoke flavour or smoke ring in sight. The sauce: I ordered medium spicy, the spice was on point however the sauce was very watery and lacked any depth in flavour. Potato Salad: decent salad but a tad bit sweet, if they toned down the sweetness a pinch it’d be perfect. Service: Lady with the short hair wasn’t personable or welcoming at all and came across a bit rude, how hard is it to pretend like you’re having a great day? Try it sometime. Overall I’m disappointed. Come on guys, you have potential to be great. Make it happen. Switch some things up.

The absolute worst BBQ I have ever tasted. Got it home and the sauce did not smell right, tasted the BBQ, it was the worst I have ever tasted in my life. The first time I tried there BBQ last year, it was fine, this time, not sure what they did, but it was horrible sauce, and I was the 1st person there, ticket #0001. And I was hungry, had the two meat lunch Ribs and Beef Ribs, it was a gross meal!

I LOVE Rib Nest omg it’s soooo good I can’t even explain it and the portions are a good size. I have been eating here for about 5 years or so I am just getting around to doing a review! If you love BBQ this is the place for you! I always get the #31 with Mac and Cheese and baked beans OMG I want it now! Parking could suck sometimes but it’s so worth it.

I should have stopped when they told me they were out of links. I called to order a large platter one evening and they were out of links. I ordered anyway and they did at least give me an extra side dish. The big disappointment came when I got the food home and found out the meat was room temperature. This has always been my favorite place for barbque especially since the potatoe salad tastes homemade. In fact, I’m only giving a rating of 2 stars because the potatoe salad is still good.

The driest brisket I have ever had. I almost choked trying to swallow those dry pieces of meat. This was even after I told that girl at the front counter that I wanted it moist three separate times. Rib Nest, you all need to do way better than this. Save your money and don’t go!

No disrespect but I’m reading some very misleading, ignorant and quasi-racist statements here regarding the Rib Nest. The location is an unincorporated section of South Los Angeles County bordering the city of Gardena. It is an industrial area surrounded by businesses, manufacturing and corporate offices. To the northwest is a large municipal golf course. It is a working-class community. If you are familiar with San Diego, Chula Vista or National City would be comparable. The community is rapidly evolving as a multi ethnic mix of families are moving into the area, replacing families who have either moved or passed on. People jog, walk their dogs, enjoy the local park to the immediate southwest(Rowley Park). So in response to all of these bullshit references to the ‘hood, the ghetto… enough, please. If you’re so afraid or put off by the area stay your asses in the Valley, the OC, Santa Monica or wherever the hell you’re coming from to indulge your foodie fetish and show how enlightened you are by braving the ghetto. Onto the food… I was pleasantly surprised. The Rib Nest has been in existence for awhile and I never cared for it in the past but tonight’s meal was better than I expected. Not great BBQ but far from the worst I’ve had. It was good quality. Had a three meat combo of beef and pork ribs & links. Double potato salad for my sides because they were out of mac and cheese. I would have liked a third pork rib to go with the two large beef ones but ok. The beef ribs could have been dressed better, yes… maybe cooked through a bit better for maximum tenderness… the spareribs were better. Links were good and the portion was good. This meat reminded me of a backyard bbq… genuine, sincere, legit… maybe not quite championship competition quality… but not nearly the garbage described in some reviews. That’s not fair. I will concede though that the quality may have improved over time. I just visited there tonight. Oh…and I’ll give you that the young lady should have waited until the lobby closed before mopping literally around my feet as I waited for my order.

I am a big fan of barbecue. I have been to many locations throughout the nation and have tried barbecue. I’ve visited Rib Nest years ago and made it a regular place for me to go to however it has seem to change and lost some of its luster. I will try it again just to make sure that my review is accurate. One thing I did not like is that I asked for punch did not realize it was made from Kool-Aid. The owners of the location seem to be very unfriendly over the 10+ years I’ve been going there I’ve never seen them interact or say hello or anything nice like that I suggest you try it it’s not bad but it’s not great it’s average barbecue

By far one of the best BBQ places!!! If you don’t live near here, it is worth the drive! There is a small parking area for the 4 – 6 shops in this lot. When you walk in, it doesn’t have much appeal in that the décor is minimal and the booths are kind of old looking. Don’t let the appearance fool you! This joint really has tasty food! This restaurant opens at noon. You can call in your order and pick it up for take out. My favorite is the Tri-Tip with the spicy BBQ sauce, it is usually cooked to perfection! We also get ribs(it is the RIBNEST), and they are excellent. We have had their sausage and chicken. They make the most delicious macaroni and cheese and green beans. I’d love to have the recipe for both! The menu selection is good enough for just about anyone to find things they’d like to eat. My hubby & I eat here at least every month, sometimes more often. We almost always order food to take home to our children. They love it!

This place is ok — I usually just get the ribs a la carte because the sides are not good enough to pay for and the bread which comes with the meat is so thin that you can see through it lol. I buy the #12 for my family then I stop by the store and pick up some green giant sweet corn halfs, some stouffers cheese and mac, and some Bush’s baked beens. The ribs are vinegary and usually pretty tender. The medium and hot ribs are too much heat for me so I stick to the mild. The hot rib sauce is REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY hot so don’t ruin your dinner if you are not used to super hot food. I usually call ahead so I don’t have to wait — you can google their menu online.

Food is ok at best but don’t recommend it. I tried the beef brisket and the beef links. Nothing to talk about. Beef brisket was kind of dry and not tender at all. Beef link was not worth it. I tried the spicy sauce and mild sauce and am not a fan of neither of their sauces.

So I came here again. I was craving some BBQ and especially the sauce! I did order the #8 choice of 2 meats but the cashier said they had to be different meats — no double brisket, which was disappointing since I love brisket. She recommended the rib tips. It came with a side so I got the mac n cheese, which I forgot I didn’t like last time. The brisket and the rib tips were delicious. I definately recommend them.(Rib tips have bones in them, which took me by surprise). I recommend ordering it first then just go pick it up. There’s usually a short line that takes forever.

I dont really like a lot of meat so I usually get the hot link sandwich that comes with your choice of any side. To me, It is a lot of food and for a great price($ 4.90). My mom usually gets the rib tip dinner and loveees it! I usually call in my order before picking it up because they always have people in line waiting to order. I will say that the customer service is not the BEST but it is what it is. There are a couple of places to sit if you decide to dine-in and it seems like a pretty chill place to have a nice lunch. Parking can be tricky, especially on a Saturday, because the lot is shared with other popular businesses.

NO, NO, NONOONOOOONOOO!!! After waiting all day at the DMV office, hubby and I were famished… BBQ sounded so mouthwatering! We get there and it is empty. Two workers behind the counter with a glass window(security type), this is kind of a hood area… that alone should have made it an awesome BBQ place. We ordered the ½ pound sliced beef plate with potato salad and cole slaw on the side, it also came with two slices of white sandwich bread. You get your choice of mild or spicy sauce on the meat, so I like my food with some kick, so I ordered the spicy. The food came out pretty quickly. Open the box, and all you see is this dark red sauce and a scoop each of the two sides. I dig in and my mouth just puckers uncontrollably! It was just pure 100% undiluted vinegar!!! Jeezus H Kryst… you couldn’t even taste the meat, which was actually pretty tender in and of itself. There was no smoky flavor one would associate with good BBQ, it was just 100% pure vinegar tasting! YUK! This was so tangy, not even the bread, nor either of the sides could quell the acidity of the sauce! This is definitely not real BBQ, so save your money and do not eat here. P. S. You know a place sucks when the place is completely empty during the lunch hour… which should’ve tipped us off… *sigh
