This place has the best antipasto salad and ambrosia salad. Yeah, I said ambrosia. I travel all the way from the Westside just for their one of a kind ambrosia. Their deli items and bread are always fresh. They also have a wide selection of wines.

Hubby went to pick up our order from the Gardena location. To our surprise, the sandwiches were really good! So much better than the Torrance location, by a mile! We ordered two Guilio sandwiches and a salami sandwich, plain with mustard only. The sandwiches were so fresh and flavorful and the staff made it right! No soggy sandwiches here! LOL! We will be ordering from the Gardena location from now on! So much more variety at this place too. Fresh breads, pastries, wines, delicatessen items… you name it, they have it ALL, here! The staff is warm, courteous and friendly… BESTCUSTOMERSERVICEEXPERIENCEEVER!!! No grumpy employees here! Thank you everyone who helped make this a very welcoming experience! You have our loyalty!

By far the best Italian market/deli/restaurant! Everything here is delicious so you can’t go wrong. However, my favorites include the lasagna, chicken Milanso sandwich, the pizza, the bear claws and the cream horns. The bread is incredible! Also, on Wednesdays and Fridays their pasta specials never cease to amaze me. I do advise you, if you’re not trying to get dessert or extra food, to call ahead so you’re not staring at the amazing desserts and food while you wait. Also if you’re getting the garlic bread with your meal, add cheese on it… SOWORTHIT.

FOOD: Amazing. My family always orders the Giulio and Torpedo. We cut it up in quarters and put them in baggies for(every) road trip. Since the sandwiches are served dry, they keep very well and we can even eat them a couple days after we bought them. If i’m eating at home or at the deli, my other favorite sandwich is the crumbled meatball. SOGOOD! We catered their pasta for a family event, and even their catered food is flavorful and delicious. SERVICE: Well, I definitely don’t go there for the smiling faces. For the most part, the service there is pretty sub par. You don’t get the warm and fuzzies but at the same time, I’ve never left there upset because of the service.

I get that they have good sandwiches here. I’ve had them before. However, last week I was still waiting after 30 minutes and watching lots of people who ordered after me get their orders and walk out. When I asked the young lady behind the counter to check on my order, she looked away and ignored me. Another 10 minutes later, she yells out my name and then tells me it will be another 15 minutes. By this time, all my coworkers had finished lunch and needed to return to work. I walked out. I guess the fact that their food is so good they think they can act like morons and it won’t affect their business.

Giulianos has been bookmarked for a while and finally time and opportunity linked! I’ve had their sandwiches several times but have never personally been in their shop. I thought they had an amazing selection of inexpensive breads and cheeses. They even had my Maren breakfast cheese that I only pick up in San Fran! The torpedo is really tasty and HUGE but, it’s waaaaay better without the gross wilted iceberg lettuce! The sandwich came prepackaged which in my opinion is never a good idea. I had them make me a fresh one :) It is good to share, it serves four people easily. They also have a nice variety of desserts for those of us with a sweet tooth!

Real Deli with lots of choices. But for me its all about the sandwiches, My fave is the Guitano. The bread is made there fresh and is amazing. Oh, no its not dry like Subway. Wine and Italian groceries give you something to shop for while you wait for your sandwich order. Seriously they’ve been in business for a reason, just try it and you’ll see.

I live down the street from the Torrance store and unfortunately hated their service. while there I ordered four subs and chicken Alfredo. Haven’t went in since they remodeled, they place looks amazing, but regardless of how beautiful It may have looked, the horrible service won’t get me to return. I’m so upset and disappointed. The young man taking orders was rude as was the lady at the register. The young man didn’t know the program, which I was unaware of and rudely made it a point to inform me. I say this to say, I’m drive all the way out to Gardena where the service is always welcoming! Definitely stop buy and grab a bite!

Came by because I felt like having their country pastrami. Walked in and saw a sign for one of their daily specials: Francesco ciabatta sandwich. I already know it’s gonna be delicious, so went for that instead! I was told it was gonna be about 5 minutes, so decided to walk and look around. I checked out their wine aisle to see if they had any Muscadets or Chablis. A staff member noticed I was looking, so he asked if he can be any help. Told him what I was looking for, and sadly, they didn’t carry either one. He did recommend a bottle, though, close to what I’m looking for, and just for trying it, he’d give me 10% off.(See how great this place is?!) He also gave me his card in case I had other questions. Sandwich was done. I also grabbed a chicken Cesar salad and smoked apple Gouda. Got home and put the wine to chill immediately. The sandwich was delicious, of course! Finally got a chance to look at the business card. Thank you for all your help, Mr. Michael Guiliano! I’m a forever customer!

If you haven’t been to Guilianos before, it’s pointless to try and describe it. It’s an AUTHENTIC Italian deli in the heart of Gardena. And while its out of the way for most people, it’s got plenty of other detractors: –You can’t eat in the store, you can only go on the patio or take out. –It has terribly slow service, and routinely gets orders wrong. –Upper management seems to be unwilling to remedy staffing issues, and care little about customer service. So, why the five star review? The food. It’s fantastic. The torpedo is good, as people say, but the Gaetano is even better. If you want a hot sandwich, the crumbled sausage with cheese simply can’t be beat. Step it up another notch and add sourdough roll bread to any sandwich for free. I no longer work in Gardena, and I’ve been trying to find anywhere else in LA that can compare at any price, and there isn’t one. I can’t emphasize this enough – the food is legendary, and affordable. I’d have them cater my wedding if I could. If your reading this and want a sandwich or any other Italian food(or wine), stop and just go. There’s plenty of detractors but it’s more than worth it.

Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve been loving Giuliano’s Deli. It’s THEBEST!!! Okay, at the risk of «dating myself», back then the torpedoes cost 75 cents and were a couple inches longer but the taste has always been classic. Love the cut up peppercini. They also make great roast beef, turkey, and tuna sandwiches just to name a few. They’ve expanded their menu over the years to include many types of pastas like lasagna and spaghetti, and pizzas – their whole or crumbled meatballs are awesome and also great in subs. Oh and their many different breads and rolls look and smell so good and have the perfect crustiness on the outside and fluffiness on the inside(like a Tauntaun, for my fellow Jedi’s). I’ve never eaten bread like theirs anywhere. When I need to cut back on carbs I can’t do it here. Don’t get me started on their garlic bread. * Tip #1: Get the Chinese chicken salad(what?! Chinese chicken salad from an Italian deli… Yeah!) If you don’t see it in the self-serve refrigerated case it can be ordered from the sandwich counter(see Tip #4 below). Their pesto pasta and lemon chicken pasta salads from the deli case are tasty too. * Tip#2: Speaking of chicken, If you need an incredible appetizer off their catering menu, I’ve got 3 words for you: HAWAIIANCHICKENWINGS(what?! Hawaiian chicken wings from an Italian deli… yessiree sir!!) Super sweet and really good. I bought some for coworkers and they loved them. One coworker asked me where I got them and she brought some to our next office party. Just a note — they usually request advance notice(at least 24 hrs, I think) for catering orders. * Tip #3: COOKIES omg the chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin are big and yummy. Like Grandma used to make. Except you gotta pay for these. At least they’re well worth it. * Tip #4: Very important: Call your order in ahead of time to avoid long waiting times during the lunch and weekend rushes. I’ve called the number so many times I know it by heart. No speed dial needed: 310−323−6990 * Tip #5: Most important– there’s only one real original Giuliano’s and it’s on Gardena Blvd in Gardena, California. There’s no other acceptable option! From my family and me: Thank you, Giuliano Family, for providing food that’s been an enjoyable part of our lives all these years!

The best Italian deli in South Bay! I always stop by for the holidays or when we are hosting a bunch of hungry guests. //PARKING //Street parking in front of the shop //SERVICE //Sandwiches can be purchased at the sandwich counter(on the left when you enter) and deli items are at the counter on the right when you enter. — Sandwiches: Have a custom made sandwich made to order or pick up a Torpedo(combination Italian cold cut sandwich) premade. The Torpedos are great for slicing into smaller portions for a party or to grab and go for a picnic. — Deli: The butchers can slice any available meat or cheese. They can also scoop you up a portion of salads, sauces, or marinated olives. //FOOD // + Torpedo sandwich: The freshly baked bread is so soft and the assortment of cold cuts are so flavorful. + Prosciutto: Sliced to order in your desired thickness. Salty, soft, and perfect with cheese and crackers. + Capicola: Sliced to order and has a spicy kick + Havarti: Soft cheese that I ask the butcher to slice to a medium thickness or else it crumbles easily + Caprese salad: Perfectly marinated and the soft chunks of baby mozzarella are light and refreshing + Olive mix: Salty and fresh + Bread: You can pick up bread at the register and there is a large assortment of fresh bread. The french baguette is easily sliced up to serve at parties or for sandwiches.

Slow as a turtle on ice… their service at the sandwich/bakery counter S U C K E D. The blonde girl cant remember the order you just made… the other is so easily distracted that you are waiting for help for a long time since she never returns to finish the order because she is chatting with a coworker behind the counter. The cashier with her short Justin Bieber haircut is as friendly as a razor blade in an apple as she plays Soul Train Scramble Board with your items on the counter trying to fit everything in a brown bag that would cry from all the weight of it could. Who puts over $ 50 of food in one bag… At least our food was on par… but it may be a long while before I return.

Went here for the first time tonight and I cannot wait to go back!!! There are so many more delicious looking dishes I have to try. I heard about this place from a friend… And the person I was with saw this place on a food channel show… So we both antes to try the Torpedo!!! It was great! We also had the delicious salad pictured here!!! Flavored Arizona teas topped it off– Blueberry and pomegranate green tea… What?!? So good!!! Tiramisu for dessert was crazy good!!! There are two different kinds so we got one of each!!! Pellegrino to wash it down! The owner is a Somolier and helped pick out a great Italian wine. Had to get a pasta dish and manicotti for the road!!! Can’t wait to eat this for dinner. Definitely going back!!! The service was great and the owner was so helpful and friendly!!! I loved eating outside and pretty much everything about this place!!!

MEATBALLSANDWICH: preferred the meatball sandwich over the pastrami. PASTRAMISANDWICH: not the best I’ve had, but it was still delicious. I can’t pinpoint what it’s missing. The bread was toasted/crunchy, stacked with flavorful pastrami, and oozing with cheese. Street parking during lunch was free and not that hard to find.

Yes very good but… You need to wait in two lines to get your order, one to order and one to pay. Why they don’t do both at the same time, I don’t know but it got pretty frustrating. I ordered, then waited for my order, then I had to wait in another like to pay and get out of there. Parking is not fun as the place is a mad house during lunch. I’m hoping that one day they consolidate the ordering and paying at the same spot to reduce the hysteria that ensued during lunch but apparently, it’s been like that forever. The food was pretty damn good. I can see why people scramble in there like salmon swimming upstream to spawn but for me, I like the quiet pace of a nice sit-down place and some soothing music. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still gonna eat here!

Not sure what the hype’s all about. Thought the food was just OK. Nothing to shout out about. Had their turkey breast sandwichvwhich was dry. Just had turkey, lettuce, and tomatoes. No flavors. I could have ordered what other reviews rave about, the torpedo, but thought I would stick to the basics. If the basics didn’t impress, can’t see how the torpedo would. Sat in the patio area and had an uninvited guest. Can’t blame them too much since it was outside but it’s still their patio. Prices are reasonable. The sandwich was a Junior size, about 10″ and cost $ 4.99. Will probably not come back.

I’ll start this off with I went here not expecting much. but boy did things change quickly. It’s in not the best part of LA area. But wow… when you walk in? it’s a different world. All the sudden I felt like I was in Italy lol. I was greeted upon walking in. The staff was extremely helpful with all my questions. The first thing I noticed about this place is that it’s an ACTUAL market/deli. And there’s s Bakery attached to it. It can’t get better than this! I ordered the all american hero w/cheddar instead of american cheese. The bread was as fresh as can be. Meats and produce was absolutely amazing. Very fresh and tasty. I also got some pastries. Which included a éclair, apricot and cherry sugar cookie and hazelnut almond chocolate chip cookie. WOW this cookie was I’m afraid to say one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. I can see exactly why this place has been here for so long. The quality is top notch with the food. But not only that the staff is very helpful, kind and professional. The selections here are HUGE and they’ve got some really good quality Italian imported goodies. Everything from cooking oils to small snacks. So in the end do I recommend this place? YES I highly recommend it. This is a real deli and how a deli should be. Not only will you be happy with the selection of deli meats, cheeses and baked goods. You’ll be satisfied with their amazing quality in the food they make. I will definitely be back here to try more on the menu. And I’ll be bringing more people with me. Good job Giuliano’s! p. s. If the owner/manager reads this. Please let your staff know they’re doing a great job.

Stopped by giulianos on my way to LAX before my flight for a quick sandwich It’s a cute Italian Market, deli, and bakery! You can get sandwiches from the fridge case or go to the back left where the pastry case is to order your own —original torpedo(comes in either a 10 or 8 inch size): it was already pre wrapped before I ordered, nothing special, I wish there were more pepperocinis for an added spice. But the bread is fresh and soft! The place smelled amazing inside, I would love to try the sweets and baked breads, perhaps they’re better

Unilocal challenge 2015. 59⁄365 Just sit right back, and you’ll read a tale A tale of a delicious sub It started from this sandwich shop In Gardenia The sandwich was on a mighty Italian roll The meat fresh and tastey 3 Unilocalers had lunch that day On 3 Torpedos On 3 Torpedos Their tummies started getting hungry The taste buds were tossed If not for the reviews on Unilocal that day Their tummies would be lost Their tummies would be lost The Unilocaler parked on the street that day With high hopes for some lunch She was buying it for herself, the Beast And the Unilocaler who doesnt Unilocal Here at Giulianos So heres the tale of the Sandwiches They ate for a long long time They’ll have to make up for it At the gym this time The Torpedo Did its very best To fill everyone up During its quest for lunch No mayo, no mustard, no special sauce Not a single onion Like Jane Its plain as plain can be So eat here, at least once my friend You’ll sure to smile Your tummy will thank you Here at Giulianos So after ready rave reviews from many of my favorite Unilocalers, Steve S, Maggie C, Nick H, David A, I went on a quest to find lunch for the Beast and our Friend, who I think Unilocal, but doesnt Unilocal. This old school deli and mini Italian grocery in Gardenia store sells a variety of sandwiches, salads, pastas, bakery treats, food, and a cold case full of single drinks. Upon an opening hour of 9:00am, the line up outside already begun. I was instantly greeted upon entering. The deli girl was very sweet and patiencely awaited my order and answered all my indecisive questions. I ordered the small Torpedo for myself with a side of dressing. I ate it in about 7 minutes. It was really good. But really messy after I drenched it in their house dressing. Even my Fiona had a bite and was really happy. My only complaint is, it only had lettuce and peperoncinis. If I would of studied the menu I would of ordered the Giulio which had tomato and onion. I washed it down with some Ginger Peach iced Tea. Then finished it off with a chocolate brownie. The brownie was just okay. Very chocolately, very rich. Im more of a milk chocolate girl. I ordered the Beast of mine got the bigger sandwich with extra meat, a side of dressing and a few packs of M&M to saturate the bread. Being the carnivore that he is, I wanted to make sure it had enough. Our friend had the basic small Torpedo like me. Both of the guys ate their sandwiches and seemed pleased. Sandwiches are very inexpensive but our drinks were where the money was at. My tea was just under $ 4.00 and the hubsters snapple just about $ 3.00. 2 bags of chips were about $ 4.00. If Im in the area, I will be back. Thumbs up!!! Review #562
