Came here around noon half of their selections were gone, not too many varieties to choose from. Im not sure if this place is going to be around that much longer unless they have their own regulars.

I came here on a Sat to specifically order egg rolls that other Unilocalers have raved about. The restaurant counter with hot trays was 2⁄3 empty and with two customers finishing their meals in a styrofoam container. The lady at the counter says they have to get me fresh egg rolls in the back. She doesn’t realize that I understand Vietnamese so she told her co worker to get me the«burned ones» from the batch. I immediately asked her if she was getting me fresh ones. I checked the bag and they didn’t appear burned. Now the taste.. . There is none. The egg rolls are oily, lack ingredients/stuffing, it’s all wrapper. There is no salt/fish sauce/flavor whatsoever. I will never return to this place. If they can’t make an egg roll right, not sure they can make anything else right. And lady, don’t tell your co worker to get he burned egg rolls. It’s rude and bad customer service.

Yes i did come a little closer to closing time but the food was bland, didn’t look good, and the rice was cold and clumpy.

I came in here for lunch 6 months ago when working nearby. Ordered the Com phan. Rice, chicken and bittermelon. Not ever expecting great food from this place. However, there was a mosquito in my soup. I was so furious, the lady offered me another soup. He’ll nah, just gimme my money back please. What’s the point of having a steam table if it’s never on? Lost my business forever! I mean forever.

I’ve been a patron of this business for well over a decade. Parking is always a problem even though there are parking spaces available right in front of the restaurant. Deep fried Vietnamese Eggrolls for now $ 50.00. I’ve been coming here when the same number of Eggrolls were $ 28.00. The ordering process is quite easy and convenient. I’ve called and placed an order on the same day of pickup, and they’ve accommodated. I just hope they don’t increase the price too often, because that will give me a reason to stop coming here from IE. It’s been worth the drive ask these years.

I came in around 7pm on a friday night. Sign outside said it closes at 830pm, but there were no more hot foods or packaged foods(except those colorful bean filled tapioca ball desserts). The service lady was really nice, and said I could still order sandwiches, and if I want, steam me a fresh banh bao. I ordered 2 grilled pork sandwiches with egg, a banh bao, and a mung bean filled tapioca ball dessert tray. Total came out to $ 9 — cash only. I liked the sandwich. Crusty bread and warm filling. The egg was overcooked, but it’s ok — i was starving. The pork has a lemongrass/curry flavor, which i wasn’t expecting but nonetheless enjoyed. The banh bao was piping hot and had an entire hard boiled egg in the middle! A little too much egg in one bun for my taste(i’m used to maybe a half-egg), but my boyfriend enjoyed it. The dessert balls were typical. Chewy and sticky, no complaints. I’d come back again during the day to try their famous egg rolls and check out more packaged foods when they’re in stock.

So far, I’ve only bought eggrolls here. I always get a tray of 50 eggrolls for work events. Tried other places, but this place is the best in my opinion. I would pick up early in the morning and re-heat in a toaster oven in the afternoon. Still crunchy! Their eggrolls are huge, savory, and packed with meat too. (They only take cash) So, is it fair to give 5 stars for only their eggrolls? Yes! Ignore the location and the poor English and just enjoy the eggrolls!

I’m only reviewing for the egg rolls because that is all I’ve had here. I’ve eaten many kinds of egg rolls, this place is the best !!! You can order over the phone in advance. Their eggrolls use to be 3/$ 1 now it’s like 2/$ 1, still so worth it. It’s stuffed with pork, shrimp and clear noodles, so good and meaty. I bring them to every family get together and its usually the first to go !

3.5 Stars for the egg rolls !!! These prepared«Food To Go» places are very popular in Lil Saigon but knowing which ones are good and are known for what is the key… After visiting the awesome Thanh Tam Bakery next door(which ran out of food), I stopped by in here to see if anything looked good. My daughter was waiting in the car hungry and she wanted egg rolls. When I went in there was not much left but the lady offered to make me a fresh order if I was willing to wait and read to me from a list the quantity offered. I also noticed a lady sitting in the front wrapping fresh ones. Everything else didn’t look too good and most of the remaining food looked dry. When my order was ready, the lady told me that she wanted me to have them fresh and a customer mentioned to me that they their egg rolls are very good and they were! They were filled with ground pork, finely shredded carrots, and vermicelli noodles and were fried perfectly ! One of the best egg rolls I’ve ever had so far…

This place isn’t that bad if you’re just getting something quick. The only thing that I don’t like about this place would have to be the parking. It is horr-i-ble.

I always order my egg rolls here for partys and they are very good! a little peppery but still good! I ordered their boba here and it was okay. Mine had huge ice pieces in it. the boba itself was old and hard.

A Short&Sweet Review… Shorter than most reviews and sweeter than a quick tip. SHORT(not so great…) 1. Although there seems to be a large variety… only a few things are good. I would not get any of the quiche-like or meatloaf dishes. A lady who works there hinted to me pass on it… if she says pass it up… PASSITUP! 2. I wanted to order the«thit nuong»(beef) banh mi and they did not have it… WTF…it’s on the menu! 3. Like any fast food Vietnamese joint… there’s no such thing as a line… wink at the lady behind the counter. push the old lady in front of you aside… and move your ass up to the front… trust me… the old lady will not recognize you the next time she sees you! SWEET!(The Good…) 1. The Chicken Banh Mi was good… not great… but for $ 2 bucks… who’s complaining! 2. Almost everything on the counter is around $ 2…I generally grab a sticky rice dish for lunch… Yum. 3. Of all the dishes that been sitting atop the boiling water and under the heat lamp… the grilled chicken in the brown sauce is the best! Try it!

I think I am a fan!- of their eggrolls that is! I came in here yesterday because Andrew D. suggested that we could pick up a little snack to eat before a party we had that night and he said this place had some pretty good eggrolls. My oh my… he was right! My bf sure does have great taste buds! We got 10 eggrolls for $ 4. That was amazingly cheap! After trying a bite, I was hooked! I had to place an order for the party and bring these puppies along with me to share. For an order of 50 eggrolls, it cost just $ 20! We made our order at around 4 pm and picked it up the same day at 7 pm. Not only does this place win me over by their cheap price, but their quality is what makes this so great! I love the fact that the shell of the eggrolls are SUPER crispy. Each bite you take you hear *crunch crunch crunch* and the meat/veggies stuffed in the eggrolls are just DELICIOUS! The eggrolls are also made super fresh! They were piping hot when we picked up our order. I would say that the only reason why this isn’t getting 5 stars is for 2 reasons: 1. They don’t come with sauce for you to dip your eggrolls :( 2. If I didn’t bring my Vietnamese speaking bf, I think I would have had some trouble ordering. I also called in 10 minutes before I was going to pick up my order and the lady who answered had a hard time understanding me :( However, if I have a craving for eggrolls or if I have a party to go to, I will definitely be coming back to place an order! Loved it!

I usually go here when I feel like eating Viet food to go real quick after work. I been to a few food to go places and this is the best one I found so far for the price. The Pork ribs dish is pretty good. It was soft and sweet. Some places when you order it, it is like hard as rock! But this place is pretty good.

**Tip of the day: Muscle your way when you’re in line, and don’t let people cut. If there’s anytime to be a b*tch/a**hole, now’s the time! There’s no official line, so you just have to shout for their attention. Anyway.are you kidding me? Reviewing phở at Thuy’s Food — to — Go? My dear friends, this isn’t what this place is about. Essentially, what this place is(like many other Food — to — Go spots) is it sells the dishes that are too cheap to be sold at a full blown restaurant, but that your Mama is too lazy to make at home. This place sells the stuff that for some reason, your Mama had no problem making for you as a kid(when you didn’t appreciate), but refuses to make for you now as an adult when you do appreciate it. WTH Mom? People talk about Pizza getting them by in college, but this place got me through my undergrad years AND my grad school years. At the time, the individual a la carte items were $ 1.00 per serving(I think it’s gone up to $ 1.25 or $ 1.50). But honestly, if you come here with less than $ 5.00, you have enough for lunch and dinner. It’s a good local spot to drop off at if your plans to make dinner fell through and you want something cheap What I order here: Chung/Thit Kho — basically eggs and meat that’s been soaked in this sweet fish sauce type sauce for a long time, to the point where the yolk of the eggs is even flavored. Talk about a comfort dish! Thit Xuon — basically Vietnamese spare ribs in this sweet/salty bbq like red sauce. It’s never going to be as good making them at home, but man does this fulfill my craving for it when I’m too lazy to marinate it overnight. Canh Bi— Winter melon soup — basically a very light broth made with sliced winter melon and ground pork. This is definitely something you could only find at home and not at restaurants. Such a light and refreshing soup and they make it as good as Mama. Party Platters: Egg Rolls. The price used to be $.30 per egg roll, think it’s gone up to $.40. All I remember was paying $ 30, and in return you have this massive tray of 100 egg rolls that’s packed with lots of meat and not dinky vegetables. It’s always a hit at parties. Yang Chow Fried Rice: I think I used to pay $ 30, and would also get a fat tray of fried rice made with the basics(Chinese sausage, vegetables… eggs). This is also a crowd pleaser. Finally, it’s always fun to pick up little Vietnamese snacks or even drinks like Rau Ma(Penny worth) or Chrysanthemum tea. Only thing is, you really do have to battle your way through day laborers. I always make it a point to dress in my sh*ttiest outfit and to look like a man as much as possible when I come here, because you do get harassed.

Food To Go-Open at 3:30AM! I would have given this place 1 Star, but they are open early so they get an extra star. I read two previous posts and they mentioned Phở and a restaurant? Phở here? Even if they had it, I doubt I would order it. There is no restaurant. Maybe there use to be one. There is a mini store which I can see as once being a restaurant. I am posting a couple of photos but it was 4am. They are dark. I have been here a few times. They do have a pretty good variety of food to go. I think their spring rolls are actually A-OK. The Café Sua Da is not the best. They have outside tables which makes it nice to sit outside and relax, but so does the place next store. I would suggest going to Thanh Tam next door which is an actual bakery. They have food to go also and very good banh mi and better café sua da. I think they open at 5 or 6am. Overall, the ladies that work here in the morning are very nice. It is just my preference with food. Whatever it is with their To Go items. I just don’t care for them. They do not appeal to me when I think of them. But, if you are looking to pick up food early. this is the spot.

Whatever’s going on here, whatever is the happening-thing is here, it wasn’t Phở, that’s for sure. Interesting corner, lots of people standing on the sidewalks in groups(Day laborers probably) and parking spaces were packed with people going in and out, many trying to find a space(I opted to park in the back of building, a loading zone area with abused asphalt surfaces and tight spaces). Asking for Phở here seemed like the least important thing in the world. Asking for Phở here is akin to asking for …, for…(Sorry, my mind drew a big blank but I’m forging on). Interesting corner but the experience was less than decent when I went a couple of weeks ago. The price was decent, the old lady was helpful enough but the Phở was not so. For the price I didn’t expect high quality everything but the overall impression was that most of the ingredients were well past its prime. The ingredients, beef bits mostly, looked fine and even look appetizing, just that on this day they seemed stale and the luke warm soup didn’t help any. To be fair, there were loads of customers coming and going, I was the minority ordering Phở.
