Perfect spot to snuggle and drink there boom! The lime one is bomb! Not much vodka but delicious. I would recommend this to everyone. Get the medium boom for 15 for 2 people. It’s like 12 shots. And because there is not much vodka totally drinkable

Little do we all know… Inside Star BBQ has a quaint little bar upstairs. It has more of an intimate and cozy setting. The owner, Jake, is very accommodating and friendly! I really like the setup and how he decorated the place. His bar is fully stocked with a decent selection of beers, wines, and hard liquors. Prices are reasonable: shots and beers (all bottled) are all about 5 $ each. Mixed drinks can vary in prices, but they’re all very tasty! This is a great place to chill and wait if you are waiting for a table downstairs or even just catch up with a friend. It’s more for a chill environment rather than any club-​like setting. I wish more people knew about this hidden gem!

I heard that there was a cool little bar upstairs of Star BBQ and decided to stop in for a drink with my girlfriend last Friday night. The space was small but cozy and there were some comfortable lounge chairs and tables spread throughout. The first thing I noticed was that it was pretty empty with about 6 – 7 guys sitting at the bar. Not a single female in there, except for the bartender. The drinks were priced very reasonably, but the pours were kind of weak. The whole atmosphere feels like your hanging out in someone’s attic with one of your friend’s pouring the drinks, instead of an actual bar. I guess some people like that about this place, but I wasn’t particularly impressed. It’s not exactly my kind of place nor my kind of crowd. But if you’ve ever wondered what’s up those stairs when you enter Star BBQ, it’s worth a look.

This bar is located up stairs inside the Star Korean BBQ. It’s a totally cute little hidden gem with reasonable pricing, that’s also a great place to have a few drinks as you wait for your table. There’s a full bar, that includes wines, beers, hard liquids, soju etc. & Free coffee! You’re allowed to take any of your drinks down to the dining area with you. There are 2 TVs that are also playing any sports that may be on. Go team!
Great atmosphere, plenty of ample seating, including extremely comfortable cushiony lounge type chairs. I would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking to have a few drinks.

Awesome upstairs bar inside Star bbq!
Shots are 5 – 7 $ each depending on the brand and all beers are served in bottles for $ 5 each.
We also purchased a large boom $ 25 (has 3 different flavors) it was pretty good it was like a flavored slushy vodka that will get you about 20 shots. I would share this with only about 4 – 5 people or less because it’s not that strong.
Had to get 3 of them because we came in a group of 20 haha. Very quiet and chill bar (although if you were there Friday our group of 20 didn’t make it so quiet lol) has couches and tables, good place to chill and socialize.
Make sure you let the bartender know if it’s your bday for a free bday shot, the bartender there was awesome!
P. S. You can change the music on their laptop in the pandora station if your not feelin Big Bang or wonder girls.

Since my first visit here 2 months is ago I have promptly returned 2 more times and this is absolutely my new favorite bar in Garden Grove. The staff here are all very nice and kind but get overwhelmed quickly at 11 pm. I was fortunate to try their famous boom drink — yummy! Too bad I didn’t have a chance to try any of their other menus but I would when I come back.

After coming to Starry Night, I realized I could be a pretty selfish person.
I want this spot all to myself and hate the thought of it overcrowding. But my altruistic side took over and felt it’s necessary to spread the word.
Hidden almost in secret above Star BBQ is Starry Night, a small, chill, dim-​lit, and affordable Korean-​owned bar. With Christmas lights bordering the windows, love-​seat sofas aligning the walls, and fake fireplaces at each corner, there’s a sensual and almost mischievous atmosphere that can be felt. It’s like I can imagine a scene from a Korean drama taking place here, where a young girl meets her handsome lover in secret, while her abusive, wealthy boyfriend eats Korean bbq downstairs. LOL
What’s so great about this place? Aside from the fact that the smell of delicious grilled bbq wafts through the floors? Beers and shots are all $ 5! Also the special «Boom» drinks are $ 5 too – which are just fruity mixed concoctions with vodka/​rum. Other mixed drinks with premium alcohol are no more than $ 8. Although the mixed drinks can be more heavy-​handed, the value is still there. The bartenders are always friendly and hand out chips/​peanuts to customers too.
The only thing I dislike about this place is that there aren’t any beers on tap; they’re all served in bottles. Plus, I wish the tables and chairs were more sturdy.

Conclusion: Next time you venture to Star BBQ, come upstairs and have a drink while you wait for your table. If you already had dinner elsewhere, it’s a great place to unwind to chat with a date. A cozy, endearing bar that I’ll surely visit again.

Walked in and the girl that works here didn’t even greet us or offered to take our order. She just sat on a couch across from us the whole time, looking at her phone. I had to get up and ask her for a menu. Completely rude with bad customer service.

Small bar/​lounge on top of star bbq. I went on a Saturday night but it wasn’t too poppin’. Drinks were good. We ordered a mixed apple flavored drink and some soju with beer. Music was alright. The only downside was that the bartender showed up at midnight so we couldn’t get our mixed drinks sooner. Otherwise, chill vibe.

This place is hoppin’ at night. There were huge groups, and small groups but the common thing? Love of KBBQ! Our group (of 14) had to be split into two tables since we didn’t have a prior reservation, but they placed us right next to each other which was considerate. The service was relatively fast for being so busy and more attentive then I expected. 17 dollars for the all you can eat «B» menu which included over 20 items is pretty good!

I’ve always ate here at stars BBQ but the bar is probably the best spot here! It’s a hole in the wall and very hidden; a hole in the wall! iit is literally upstairs and Jake is the best bartender in OC!

Star BBQ recently opened up a bar. It’s kind of cool how you just walk into the restaurant, head up stairs and then BAM, there’s a hidden bar out of nowhere. Nice chill spot. Makes it even better that it is right down the street from where I live. And even better that they carry STONE IPA here!!! Bartenders here are friendly and talkative.
Definitely would come back here if I just wanted to chill, unwind and have a beer.

This is a hidden gem of garden grove!!! Was looking for a nice place to have a drink and found it! Décor is welcoming, music was not too loud. A city feel in the suburb.
If you like to get a drinks with friend and chat, this is a place to be.

What a surprise! A bar on top of a korean bbq. Extremely inviting, its a place to go to after a long day at work to unwind. The noise and music were just where you can hold a good conversation. Do check this place out, definitely worth your while.

Starry Night is the only Korean bar I go to now!
It’s located on the top floor of Star BBQ, kinda of random but it works.
Sorry Past Memories and Soju Belly although you may provide food its the ALCOHOL i’m really interested in!
At other Korean bars when I get my tab I never know what they charged me for and because of the language barrier its difficult to ask questions if the price seems off. Also if you aren’t Korean they definitely don’t treat you as well =(
Here at Starry Night the bartender Jake is not only a great bartender his prices are also really cheap and he serves hard liquor and really yummy mix drinks!
Atmosphere has a nice lounge-​y feel to it with the couches and candles.
If you’re in the Garden Grove area looking for a drink you should definitely stop by, =)

My husband brought me here on one of our date night for some Korean BBQ. We notice the sign for the upstairs Lounge and decided to check it out after dinner. Jake, the bartender/​owner was mixing up some interesting looking drinks for other customer and asked us if we wanted to try. I normally don’t drink voldka, but what ever he was making looks too delicious to turn down. hee then made us a starry night signature drink le-​boom. It comes in Many different fruit flavor. Ours was lemon. It was sooooooo good. Jake and his sister both provided over then edge customer service, and the lounge has a very relaxing environment. This place is now our new favorite hangout. With or without Korean BBQ. Thanks Jake!!!
