The best chicken I have ever had, hands down. Please check them out. But call first, their chicken goes fast…

Visited this place yesterday, got the«Lomo Asado.» Coming in, the place is kept up pretty well and the service is great. It is owned by a Mexican family but the chef studied Peruvian cuisine. When I opened my plate(got take out), I was surprised by how colorful the food looked, but the taste was even better. The steak is so juicy and so easy to chew on as well. To my surprise there is also fries underneath the steak. It also comes with white rice and a side of sauce. There red or green sauce which both are so good because they’re creamy sauces but the red is more spicy than the green. You can even ask for a tub of sauce in the side which is free but the second one is three dollars. Definitely a hidden gem in Santa Ana.

I rarely ever give one star to any place but this place had the worst customer service and unimpressive food earns only one star from me. So what went wrong with the customer service? They consistently tried to kick us out even though it was not yet the closing time. I think my friend and I were the last customers and rest of the people in the restaurant all worked there, watching a soccer game on TV. I think they wanted us to leave as soon as we are done with the food and because we didn’t, they eventually just locked the doors on us. Not the best way to treat your customers. Food — was just OK. I got lomo saltado. The meat and the sauce was not seasoned well and lacked flavor :(I will not be returning here.

Came in for lunch during the week and ordered my meal to go. They were super fast. I got the lunch special Pollo Salteado. It’s amazing and the green sauce is spicy but super delicious! I will b coming back with my family next time.

There are a surprisingly high number of Peruvian restaurants in Orange County and Señor Pollo specializes pollo a la brasa. We got the whole chicken meal, which comes with two sides for about $ 18. Overall, the meal was good though we wished the moist chicken had crispier skin. We picked french fries, a Peruvian staple, and these seemed like they were the frozen kind, and a green salad that was basic with iceberg, tomato and a italianish dressing. Their aji is creamy, which isn’t my favorite style. Overall, fair prices and tasty.

Looks are definitely deceiving. I admit, I didn’t expect much stepping into this building that used to be a KFC, but now houses some of the best Peruvian food in Garden Grove, of all places. I started with the blue corn drink that looks like Jamaica, but tastes like a cinnamon tea that’s sweetened, and was immediately impressed. They brought out some homemade freshly-baked rolls with two types of sauce. The spicy orange sauce or the creamy green sauce will go good with any of their dishes. I had their definitive dish, the Lomo Saltado, which is lean beef strips flambed, with red onions, tomatoes, cilantro, served with French fries and steamed rice. Add in a little bit of the orange and green sauces combined and you’ve got a flavorful dish. Do yourself a favor and try out this place. Don’t let the location or appearance dissuade you from real, genuine Peruvian cooking.

One of my favorite Peruvian places in Southern California. Arroz chaufa is great, and of course the Lomo Saltado is too. It is a smaller restaurant, so seating is limited. The people who work there are very nice and remember familiar faces too!

Quick and satisfying lunch! Who knew Garden Grove had great Peruvian? I opted for the Pollo Saltado Lunch Special and it hit the spot! Fries were not too soggy, chicken was not dry, and the dish was quite tasty. The aji sauce was too spicy for me but the dish was good without it. Service was polite and fast. At noon on a Friday, there were only 3 tables occupied. My glass was refilled about 4 times without calling for attention(yes, that sauce was spicy!) A very good change from the usual Asian cuisine. Too bad I cannot compare the food to real food in Peru as we had to cancel our trip this year due to the Zika virus. Maybe next year. In the meantime, we have Señor Pollo!

The place is really clean and the food is delicious! It’s under $ 10 per person. I am obsessed with the green sauce and salad they have! They have a unique flavor and I’m overall very satisfied with this place.

I had been looking for a Peruvian restaurant that serves cau cau and was unable to find one. Decided to check out this place to have some pollo a la brasa. This is not your typical restaurant setup. It looks like the previous tenants were some sort of fast food place… my best guess is something like sonic but I regress. Upon entering this establishment I was welcomed with the incomparable smell of my native food… 1 star. I quickly noticed that someone was enjoying picarones at one of the tables…2 stars. The hostess was unremarkable. I was set to order my chicken when I saw it… cau cau on the menu! 3 stars. I had to make sure it was available… it was… 4 stars. It’s been a long time since I’ve had cau cau and it enjoyed every bit of it as well as picarones and anticuchos(to go). All in all it was good food and okay service. Seems they have«regulars» so I definitely felt like an outsider. I’ll go back for cau cau any day!

This place has horrible service. The lady who works here either hates people, hates life, or just hate her job in general. She is super rude and disrespectful. Their food is not bad. I do enjoy the ceviche and pollo a la brasa. However, I will never be back due to the fact that they don’t know anything about customer service. A smile would not kill her either. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Don’t come here if you value common sense and good customer service.

Good place to get some chicken for lunch or dinner(only $ 10 for half chicken). Wait time is about 10 min for one plate of half chicken to-go. Only giving this place 4 stars because the food isn’t mind blowing or anything, just a place for a good meal.

Ew, got the chicken saltado lunch special and ended up with diarrhea. Food wasn’t that great, I would rather go over to Inka Grill for some real delicious Peruvian food. Beware!

Solid Peruvian food everytime! Been coming to them when they were off harbor. This place has some tasty lomo saltado and good size as well. I enjoy everything i have gotten here from the appetizers to the main dishes. Thanks for keeping the food great and continue doing what you do! They are a family run restaurant with plenty of parking in a semi commercial area. It is easily accessible and they make you feel at home when you walk in the door.

Good food. I only go for the pollo a la brasa cus I’m Peruvian. It’s a hit or miss though. Sometimes they give you sorry ass pieces of chicken and other times they are big. I really do dislike the lady that works there. She has no personality and no definition of customer service whatsoever. She’s the only reason I stopped going. She’s lame

Simply one of the best Peruvian places I’ve been to! The food here is fantastic. I noticed this place when I moved to Santa Ana a few months back. My sister got me Saltado de pollo to go a few weeks back and it was sooo delicious. The seasoning and flavor is exceptional and the sauce was hella spicy. Last night my sister and I stopped by for dinner. We were the only patrons there. More folks started to roll in shortly after. I ordered the Chupre de Cameron– which is a creamy tomato-y soup with rice, prawn, peas, carrots, potatoes, a poached egg and lots and lots of shrimp. I’ve never had a dish at any restaurant that have so much shrimp before. The flavor was light and sensational. This is also a good option for when you are sick and need a yummy soup to sip on. I really like the addition of the poached egg– it gave it that slight creaminess that made it special. My sister order something tacu… It was a bean and rice paste dish with beef and plantains. That was very good too! I will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this place. Pricing is not bad! Comparable to most Peruvian restaurants.

Real deal Peruvian in an unlikely spot in Garden Grove. It probably shouldn’t surprise me that Peruvian this good could be found in a relatively boring area of Garden Grove but Señor Pollo is a stand out thanks to their bold flavors and extremely reasonable prices. The family owned restaurant rose like a phoenix from the ashes of «Mr.Pollo» in another location and seems to not have missed a beat. The family oriented environment offers solid service and a warm ambiance. Every Peruvian restaurant should be gauged by their Ceviche and Señor Pollo’s is a particularly strong one offering larger cuts of fish than their competitors. The Pescado variety is incredibly light, bright and refreshing thanks to ocean fresh fish, lime juice, onions, and spices and comes flanked with chunks of sweet potato and Chicolo Corn. I tell you with no shame that our table enjoyed 2 orders. Another notable dish was the Chaufa De Moriscos featuring an almost Asian-styled mixture of Fried Rice, Egg, Green Onion and large Shrimp. This dish is enjoyed best by being washed down with the bubblegum flavored Inka Kola. At $ 11.95 per plate almost across the menu, the value proposition is immediately apparent. Although Peruvian isn’t exactly what comes to mind when I think of Garden Grove, Señor Pollo has me wondering why not.

the best pollo a la brasa in socal. we’ve tried them in many places over the decade and half since moving but señor pollo sold me/us on the first bite. it started well when we walked in smelling what was coming out of the kitchen but when we ordered there was only one half left of the PALB. again things happen for a reason cause we got a chance to try their pescado frito which was amazing. amazing light crispy batter, fresh flaky fish, a little squeeze of lime,… and don’t forget to add every bite… their salsa criolla. these are the many times onions should never be removed from a dish and I wished we had double the amount. can’t forget about their mild but flavorful garlic rice. as a whole this dish alone would make us regulars if we lived nearby. the PALB was full of dry spices but the chicken never tasted over seasoned. it was moist from the white and dark meat and was complimented well with the aji sauce and a chaufa that wasn’t too salty and peppery, along with their vinegar based salad dressing,… equalled the best PALB in socal. what a place,… we will be back many times again for sure.

How long has this place been here ? Came in after using my trusty Unilocal app to locate some Peruvian after my kids summer performance. It is a tiny little space and there are authentic Peruvians(husband and wife I presume) cooking and taking orders. I ordered the Chaufa de pollo and the lomo saltado. My daughter got the ¼ chicken special that came with fries. All under $ 25 and oh so tasty !!! I never knew that Peruvian had Chinese influences and had to do with the Asians setting up shop in Peru due to some war or something. Anyway the Chaufa was so delicious and had the best seasoning I have ever had in a rice dish. The green sauce(aji) was spicy but my favorite was the reddish cream sauce– I could swim in it ! So good ! Highly recommended but maybe next time I will just pick up bc of how small this place is. Oh and if you have to run to the restroom — they are OUTSIDE.

Good peruvian food. Good lunch specials(I think 6.99 M-F). I would come more often if they had specials on weekends =D Cuz Peruvian food overall a little bit pricier than other food options. Well especially compared to less expensive Asian food. About 9⁄10 Peruvians restaurants are great… this is another great place. However some dishes can stand out at different locations. I love the pollo saltado here. It’s the best I’ve had. The food is delicious, the servers are nice, the restaurant is clean, and the prices are comparable to other Peruvian restaurants.

This place is very good. The food gets you full. Price is fair. You get what you pay for, and im glad i paid well. Food seriously came out no later than 4 minutes after we sat down. Portion size is huge, you need at least 2 people for 1 dish. So bring a +1 if you plan on eating there. I also recommend their Passion Fruit juice. Get the pitcher for $ 7… Trust me it will go fast. It will fill at least 9 or 10 glasses there full. So if you’re looking for a good Peruvian place, here it is.
