This place was alright. I had their bun rieu and it tastes consistent to all the bun rieus that I’ve had at many other Vietnamese restaurants. I was a little bit turned off and disgusted when a man brought out our food and kept clearing his throat and coughing into our bowl … I almost didn’t want to eat it.(I mean, can you blame me)? The restroom was clean and the fact that they offered a black bean Vietnamese dessert to each person at your table for dessert was pretty nice. The atmosphere at this place was really off to me. I think it felt almost like a silent library. I would suggest they have music played or something to kind of add liveliness to their restaurant. And it was very hard to identify who was the worker and who was the customer when it came to the part for me and my party to ask to pay for the bill.

Went here last night with some guests from Vietnam — first time I’ve been here. I was super excited because I’ve heard that the Garden Grove/Little Saigon area has GREAT Vietnamese food. The person that was taking us was Vietnamese, taking Vietnamese guests, to little Vietnam to get Vietnamese food… what could go wrong? It’s unfair to say something went wrong. Honestly, nothing was wrong… just not great. I ordered the Phở Tai(rare beef), medium. Size was decent, about the same as other places I’ve been to in the area. The broth was a little darker than others, and it tasted pretty good. But there was something missing. That extra depth that comes from broth that has been sucking every bit of flavor out of the meat and bones, the herbs and the vegetables that makes phở phở. It was too… light to be really good phở. The noodles were alright too, normal. nothing anything special. We arrived later than the posted closing time on Unilocal, but we didn’t sense anything like they didn’t want to serve us or that we should hurry and get out, so that’s good. Probably not my #1(or even my #5) place to get phở, especially in this area, but not bad if that’s where you end up.

Decent Phở Ga. Not the best but not bad either. I felt rushed when my order was taken. Like I had to rush to say everything I wanted speedily before they walk away before I’m done talking. Here they don’t prepare it automatically with big noodles and the chicken is placed on a separate plate outside of the soup. That’s the correct way to eat Phở Ga. You have to tell them or otherwise it will not come out this way automatically like other good places. Fatty Green Onion — Nuoc Beo Vinegar Onions — Hanh Dam Are free and complimentary(like normal most places) Now, Phở Song Hai charges this which is stupid. For those who care the minor details, it’s an encouragement not to come back. Dessert(Che) is complimentary here after your meal. A rating of 7⁄10

I don’t enjoy that they lied to me about the tipping. I went to eat with a friend and saw that there was no tip placed when tip was already given so the fact that they lied to my face made me distrust this place! The only thing I like is Ch cá Thăng Long.

The absolute best phở, hands down! Yes, it is a little dirty(that doesn’t bother me though, most Vietnamese restaurants are), but the service is super fast, the waiters are really funny and friendly, and the Quang Trung’s broth is probably the best in Orange County. They don’t use filet mignon like some of the newer phở restaurants, but regardless, the overall quality of Quang Trung’s phở cannot be beat. The serving size is huge, and you get the perfect ratio of meat, noodles, and broth. Simply put: it is classic phở done right. You definitely have to come here at least once in your life.

I’ll be perfectly honest, I don’t think I knew what a really good bowl of phở was until I came to this place. I have eaten phở on many occasions at highly rated places, but this one kind of opened my eyes to how good phở can be. It is very simple and amazing. You have to try this place. Don’t be put off by the rough exterior or service, just come in an order and leave. Pay cash also. If I lived nearby, I would come here once a week. It’s that good.

This place is absolutely amazing. It doesn’t look like much from the outside and the parking is horrible, but inside is very spacious with a lot of leg room. Ordered a large oxtail beef, I was already full about ¾ths of the way into it. They don’t mess around, you really get your money’s worth here. They’re mostly known for their phở ga, my dad ordered it and said it was the best he ever tried. They are NOT cash-only as others have reported, if they were we would have never eaten here.

Not a super fan of phở in general, but this was a pretty satisfying bowl! Being from Asia, a whole in the wall is usually my favorite(as they seem to be more authentic), so I was pretty glad when one of my bfs friends brought us here(he’s vietnamese too!). They are most famous for their Phở Gà, which is basically a chicken phở :) They offer free range chicken options which are generally $ 1 more than the regular. I chose to go with that, and to pick the one that came with chicken thighs, gizzard, heart, and liver. The medium size turned out to be MORE than enough, and was only almost $ 8. Some of us got large bowls, and I seriously have never seen bowls that large haha. Soup base is super amazing and feels like a very hearty chicken broth that’s been cooked for a long time. Gizzard was amazingggggggg, chicken thigh meat was super tender. I would prefer this over regular beef phở anyday! The staff did have a little trouble understanding our order, so if you have a friend who speaks Vietnamese, definitely have them help you order to speed up the process and to get your order right; like I said, super authentic ;).

Not the best service or cleanest place, but boy do they know how to make a mean bowl of phở duoi bo here! The meat is so flavorful and tender. Definitely recommend trying it here if you haven’t had it before. They also have really good GIANT eggrolls here! They use a different type of wrapper than regular eggrolls… they are very crispy. +You can get it without noodles or veggies for less $. They also accept credit cards for orders over $ 10.

Best Phở restaurant in OC. The broth is what makes it here. They only take cash so be aware before coming.

I was annoyed when I went there because the sign clearly states it open to midnight but when i got there the waiter informs us it closes at 11 pm .it was simply awkward as we ate the staff sat at the table next to us and watched us eat waiting for us to leave. We end up going to tebo afterwards Also the food was incredibly mediocre not bad but I had much better at other restaurant. I wouldn’t go back again

I tried Cha Ca Thang Long here. It was decent but the price was over $ 20 and they only take cash. This is not a fast food restaurant. It’s a standard restaurant with large menu so it is unreasonable to require cash payment only which is a clear indication of a shady business practice. It also looked dirty inside and outside. I definitely do not feel comfortable eating here.

This is my «late night» go to place for a weed day dinner outing. I ordered the bun rieu with tofu(Vietnamese crab soup) and the bf ordered com suon nuong op la(pork chop with sunny side up egg and white rice). The bun rieu was quite satisfying, not as yummy as when my mom makes it, of course. But for a craving 30 miles away from her, this is surely do. The rice dish did look appetizing, but I rather go for their banh bot chien(fried rice cakes with egg). that is yummy! This place is usually filled with patrons most hours of the night! Service is hurried but they get the job done. If you like beef, try their bo luc lac(shaken beef), it’s also pretty good here. They offer free nuoc mat(sweetened tea) the last few times I have gone so I think it’s a regular promo. I know I will be back in the near future. It’s a solid late night Vietnamese restaurant with a wide menu.

This Phở place is one of the best restaurants around Garden Grove. There are many varieties of Vietnamese foods here as well. Since I have been here many times, the best food I had so far is the Phở Gà(Vietnamese Noodle Soup with Chicken). When I first ate the Phở Gà in the medium bowl, there was tons of noodles and lots of cutted boiled chicken in the bowl. I was surprised that I actually finished it. If you are around this area, I would recommend coming to this place.

We have been going here for years. It’s a hole in the wall kinda establishment so don’t expect too much but expect the food to be very good. The«maitre d» or he seems to be the maitre d is very nice and very accommodating. Phở chicken and beef here is very good, probably the best in the area. They are very generous with their portions and prices are very reasonable. Bun rieu is also very good. The grilled pork with rice and fried egg is yummy and they give A LOT! As in almost good for 2 people. Again, don’t expect fine dining atmosphere here but expect great food and generous portions.

This is truly a hole in the wall. Coworker recommended this place for the chicken phở. It was a little bit on the oily side. Broth was just decent and dipping sauce looked & tasted a little water down. Pretty disappointing bowl of chicken phở. Also ordered the pork vermicelli to go. It was meh.

My sister said this place had the best Phở Ga. Normally I don’t eat Phở Ga but she suggested that I tried it. Phở Ga: the phở ga was good, but you can tell this place is dirty. As in MSG and typical dirty phở restaurant. The water wasn’t all that clear(but it had good flavors). I got a small bowl, so the MSG wasn’t bad. My sister said usually when she eats the medium to large she’ll get the MSG numbness feeling. I must say, the broth was good and so was the chicken, liver, and chicken hearts. Word of advice, don’t get the eggrolls. It wasn’t that great. Sure it was big but ours was hot on the outside and not that hot in the inside… they needed to fry it more! I normally don’t eat at dirty phở places anymore, not because I choose not to, but because SD now has more of the swanky phở wanna be american places. Only when I visit my sister in OC… I like to not think about how dirty it was, to make my body feel better about itself.

I went here with my hubby and in-laws for lunch, it’s a 1 minute walk from our office. Interior is average, as are most Asian hole in the wall type places. Service was prompt. I ordered squid and beef fried noodles. It was very oily and very bland. They failed to mixed in the soy sauce properly in the noodles, so it was very dark in some areas and no colour in others. We also ordered some veggies with garlic, again no flavour. I’m told the phở is really good there, so maybe next time I’ll give that a try!

You know I mean business when I bust out my hair tie before I go in… This five star review is solely dedicated to their bun bo hue! I didn’t know what happiness was until today. I hate huyet(coagulated pork blood), btw. I can eat it no problem, but I choose not to though cus I’m an independent woman. However, their bite sized/fun sized pork blood was a game changer! They were soooo good! I was poppin’ that sh*t in my mouth like kids around here poppin’ Molly. The broth was nice and spicy(like me). The noodles were flawless(like Rascal). The one sized bowl was juuust right. Chili oil + shrimp paste = party in yo mouth. 5⁄5 super stars from your Vietnamese American client. Oops P. S. — their complimentary red bean dessert(che) at the end was really good too and I’m not a fan of those things either! Thanks for converting me today

I come here frequently for their rice dishes, phở ga, and a few other items. Lately, the broth for the phở ga have been consistently bland. A can of Swanson chicken broth has 10x more flavor than this. Nothing here seem to taste good anymore. Today is my last time here. I typically don’t expect good service from any Asian restaurant unless it’s like An Qi, but I’ve had enough with their rude, disgruntled workers. I understand Vietnamese fluently and I can hear them screaming at each other. Even worse, they straight up ignore me when I try to flag them down for my missing bowl of dipping sauce. When I finally got a hold of someone, they gave me attitude. To be fair, there’s an older gentleman in the uniform that’s nicer, but everyone overshadowed him. I understand there’s a minimum for credit card charges but wanting to charge me an additional 75¢ because I’m short by 15¢ is absurd! That was the last straw for me. Farewell, shitty restaurant with shitty customer service and shitty food! You won’t be missed by me.
