My first(and probably last) experience here was very irritating today. I saw that somebody gave this place five stars, and it’s not far from where I work, so I was really excited to come here. First of all, the place has been renamed to something like«Mini Rex.» Maybe the ownership changed. I asked for water, and the waitress automatically comes back with a generic, plastic bottle of water. I saw that it was $ 2, so I was like, «Can I get a tea instead, please?»(The tea is $ 1.25). I couldn’t figure out what to order, so I asked her if she could recommend something with chicken and vegetables and rice. About 20 minutes later(even though there were only two or three other tables waiting), she comes back with chicken fried rice.(Wow, I’m in Garden Grove trying to discover great Vietnamese food, and I get fried rice. I realize the confusion was partly my fault.) It was decent and I was really hungry, so I ate about 2⁄3 of it. I was in a hurry and wanted to pay my bill. I get out my debit card, and she tells me that there’s a $ 20 minimum to use credit/debit. So I had to use the stupid hotel atm with the $ 2.50 surcharge. And the ambience was lousy. I wish I’d tried more of their food, but this was such a miserable introduction. I’d be hard pressed to ever come back here again.

What a surpising little gem I doubt I would have ever found it if not for a good friend, its in the Ramada Inn building, to the left as you enter the lobby of the hotel. Introduced to me by a friend, this restaurant is awesome. I have never had a bad meal here, the baked seafood dish is amazing, good egg rolls, and soups are really good… everything I have tried to date has been exceptional. I will have to pay more attention to what we ordered, so I can list the best items better, but I love the baked seafood… YUM! It takes awhile(maybe 20 minutes) to bake, so you can order apps in the meanwhile Ok, I called my friend, we had the lemon steamed chicken, and the shaking beef on one visit(they also serve a shaking fish), and how could I forget the lamb chops we had on another – those were superb as well.
