Makeup by Maida

I am so sorry maida that I am just writing this review! ( Unilocal didn’t allow me to make my own account until now for some reason)
BUT MAIDA IS THE SHIT!!! I am SOOOO picky with my make up artists, I have 3 go to makeup artists and maida is number one on my list! She just knows how to make me look prettier… And she’s the bomb at countouring and listening to what you want and like. Love this woman and I can’t wait to get my make up done by her more frequently

Maida did an awesome job on make up and hair for my BMs! She is super sweet and easy to work with. I had an unexpected situation and really appreciated her going above and beyond to help me out. I would highly recommend her and her team!!! Thank you, Maida!

Her detail in complimenting the colors to give me such a vibrant glow was astounding. The makeup lasted throughout the night (til 3am) without any touch up.

Maida did make up for my sister’s big day and she looked amazing! She’s very nice and professional and needless to say, she combines the modern make up look but also the timeless, classic (not tacky) look to her work. Still extremely impressed with her work. I keep telling my sister she made a good decision deciding to go with Maida.

First off, finding a makeup artist just for an event is not that simple since most of them do weddings most of the time. Maida was very responsive though! Luckily she was able to fit me in for a makeup session in the morning. I went to her cute studio and she is very nice and easy to talk to. Although my event was later that night and was really worried about my face melting, her makeup lasted the entire day even with the scorching heat! (Given that I did try to stay in the ac as much as I could and blotting when I felt oily) Definitely recommend her!

My fiancé and I took engagement pictures in March and they came out beautiful thanks to Maida. Maida actually paid close attention and is very detailed with my makeup to make sure everything was perfect. She asked about where we were taking pictures and took that into account consideration when doing my makeup. I would highly recommend Maida to my friends and family.

Wow! So many great things i can say about Maida!!!
I reached out to Maida to see if she can do my makeup for a friend’s wedding 2 days ago. Maida was quick to respond and i was SO fortunate she was available! I booked her right away because i know she gets booked fast!
Maida was super sweet from beginning to end. She was very accomodating and made arrangements for me as i had to be ready super early in the morning! During our session she made sure i’d be all glammed up and ready to go! It was so relieving since i was so stressed and in a hurry!
I absolutely loved my makeup! 15 hours, rain or shine (yes, unfortunately it rained), my makeup lasted all day! I received tons of compliments!
Maida’s a true MUA! I’m so happy i met her. Only now i wish i had more events to attend so i can book Maida again :)

Maida is amazing at what she does! ! I had her do my makeup for a bridal shower, also as a trial run as I was going to be a bridesmaid. And she made me look and feel beautiful. First of all, I have the most sensitive skin on the planet and I seem to react and break out from everything. Maida was so accomodating and patient with me. For the wedding day, she took me in early in the morning (I was the only one from the bridal party that was using her services) and was so patient with me despite me being a stressball that day. She kindly adjusted the makeup and made it look natural, as the bridal party was more on the minimal side. Again, thanks Maida for eveything!

Maida is simply the best! I can’t stress enough how important it is to have a personable and sweet MUA on your big day. On top of making me feel and look fabulous, any small stressor that came up during my time with Maida was quickly diminished by Maidas calming voice. She has a very sweet and professional demeanor! All of my girls looked beautiful! (More than they already do, of course). She is very prompt in email responses and is very well organized.

Okay, back to whats important to those interested. I like how Maida asked me to send her pictures of how I wanted my make-​up done. It gave her an idea of what i was looking for & she added her twist that worked best for me and my look. While doing my make-​up, she was gentle and patient. Took her time and did her magic to make me look beautiful. We had great conversations. Definitely felt like one of my bestfriends was doing my make-​up! :) The products she used were great quality and I didnt feel like I was wearing a lot of make-​up. My make up lasted all day in hot weather (outdoor wedding). I will definitely go to Maida again and HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for a make-​up artist. She is AMAZING!!! you will definitely be lucky to have her do your make-​up!

I hired Maida to do my pre wedding photo shoot make up. She was very professional and her work is amazing. Therefore I booked her to do make up for my wedding as well. She showed up on time and was very patience when it comes to satisfying her customers. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to get their make up done professionally!

I loved Maida! I hired maida for my wedding makeup and my moms. She is extremely meticulous, will do the exact colors /​makeup style you prefer. If there’s anything you want her to change she will adjust to your liking. The entire night I received so many compliments on my makeup and my mother’s. Her prices are very reasonable and I would definitely hire her for any future events :)!!

Maida is truly amazing at what she does. I had an event recently and needed to find a makeup artist and after hours of researching I found maida. I had some other makeup artists in mind for my pre-​wedding photoshoot, but then I came across Maida here on Unilocal — and I’m so glad that I did!
Not only did I receive special attention from her the whole duration of the makeup session, but it was reasonably priced as well! From the moment I stepped in the door to the time that I left her studio, she was nothing but friendly, sweet, and accommodating. We also worked with her hairstylist, Jessica, and I have to say together they were very entertaining throughout the session.
Just like previous reviewers has mentioned, she is very detailed oriented and makes sure that you like the color of the eyeshadows, eyelashes, lip color etc, that she picks for you. I loved also how she packs a small touch-​up kit to take away with me before I left (although I was so busy I didn’t get a chance to use most of it!) In saying that, I felt like the makeup was long-​lasting despite my oily/​combo complexion, and I would have only needed to blot once throughout the 7 – 8 hours I had it it on.
Definitely will have Maida in mind for my future makeup needs!

As a wedding planner, I’ve worked with many many make-​up artists and hands down… Maida is the BEST! Our go-​to gal when it comes to referring to our clients. She is professional, easy to work with and most importantly, her work is AMAZING!!! Trust me, you’ll be in good hands! Just had my wedding a week ago, and Maida did mine and 4 of my bridesmaids. First of all, our trial (OBVIOUSLY) did great, because I booked her for my wedding. I do my makeup everyday, so I’m super picky about the way I like it, and the trial went so well, it just sealed the deal.
The wedding day, she did all the BM’s first, and they would not shut up about how much they liked it (which is a very good thing). Maida makes it look SO easy. By the time it got to my turn, there was a lot going on with the videographers and photographers around me. She didn’t have to, but she kept me calm and checking if I was okay. She even paused every so often to make sure I sipped my champagne to calm my nerves (that was awesome). It’s the little things that make a difference.
My makeup was great, I must’ve cried happy tears all night, and it held up pretty darn good. Once I get my photos from the photographer I’ll post some.
Long story short, book her! She’s great, her work is great, and she is very easy to work with. Super responsive in emails and text. Which was super important to me since I live in SF but got married in the OC.

If you’re like me and know absolutely nothing about makeup and you are little afraid of makeup, have no fear! Maida will take such great care of you! She keeps in mind what you want and she opens your eyes to a world of color and beauty. I highly recommend Maida for all of your makeup needs. She is amazing :)
I rarely wear makeup and needed my face done for my brother’s wedding, Maida’s magic touch made me feel so beautiful and the makeup lasted ALL DAY and it did not feel heavy or anything :)
