Stopped by Tuesday night for dinner and this place did not disappoint! We ordered at the counter and had our food brought to us. You can customize your poke bowl or order from the menu. I had a bowl with brown rice, salmon and yellowtail, and spicy soysauce. My partner had a bowl with tuna and white rice. They provide you with a generous portion of fish. All bowls come with cucumber salad, ginger, wasabi, and a krab salad. Everything tasted fresh and the quality of fish was great for the price point. Service was very efficient and super friendly!

I ordered a small poke bowl with the choice of salmon, no onions, and white rice! I thought it tasted decent. Until I got food poisoning an hour later. I mean it happens but maybe fresher fish next time?

Definitely would recommend this poke/sushi spot to anyone. The staff is very friendly and outgoing; I go there so much that they know my name and even know what I want to order as soon as I walk up(Brown rice, salmon/spicy tuna, X ponzu, no ginger, miso soup!). The sushi there is cheap and really good. Can’t remember if they have more than basic hand/cut rolls, but I’ve tried the traditional cut rolls and they’re definitely worth it. The yellow tail is also one of my favorite types of fish there. It’s got sort of a «fast-food» vibe to it, but when you find a table and eat inside, they treat it like a sit-down restaurant. Very often do they ask if you would want a refill on your water or if there’s anything else you would need, etc. Definitely take pride in their customer service and live up to the great expectations I believe they strive for. Pricing makes total sense at this place. They have pre-made bowls you can order, or you can build your own for a very fair price. They don’t skimp on bowls like most poke/sushi places. They definitely pack as much as they can and make sure you get what you pay for. Quality and quantity is a big reason why I love this place. A+ Food A+ Customer service A+ layout/design of the restaurant(if you’re into that kind of stuff)

I’ve been to Lovfish a bunch of times ever since it opened, and I’ve tried almost all of the varieties available to us. I actually quite enjoy this place, despite the fact that it’s still fairly ‘new’ and isn’t as grand as some other locations. The restaurant on its own is very charming, they have cute little menus on the walls that are colorful, random sumos painted all over the restaurant, and the staff here is extremely nice and work very quickly! There’s also an area where you can pour your own cold drink on the side of the cashier. They have a lot of varieties to choose from as well, not as much as other Poke restaurants, but enough to make any customer happy. I typically choose the salmon because it’s such a solid cut of fish, and it works well with any other assortments! The Wow Poke bowls are also a great addition, but I wish they would include those little sides(such as avocado, mangoes, etc.) as an option you can include in your regular bowl for maybe an added 50 cents, or something along those lines. I’m not exactly sure if they have that option available for customers, but it’s not on the menu so I’m assuming they don’t offer it. Recently, I tried out the yellow tail, and that piece of sashimi is honestly to-die-for! It melted in my melt, and had a very interesting but nice texture overall, and I enjoyed the taste. Lovfish also houses amazing portion sizes, that actually fit the price! There’s an evident difference between the ‘large’ and ‘medium’ bowls, notable in both their prices, and portion size, and I actually don’t mind them for once! Normally in restaurants that serve Poke, or something that’s considered ‘expensive’, they have a tendency to overcharge and give out depressing portion sizes because they immediately assume that the taste will somehow make up for poor presentation, but Lovfish is not one of these restaurants. They have the bowl sizes pinned to the wall, which I also think is a nice detail, because we don’t have to awkwardly ask to see how big the portions are. They also include a ‘mixture’, or essentially added bonuses, for free! They include crab, onions, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, masago, and ginger. The sauce here is also great, and they let you double or triple up! I normally get the spicy mayo and garlic ponzu, and the fact that it seeps into the sushi rice is my favorite part of the experience! Overall, the majority of the fish here is absolutely amazing — the textures mesh well with one another, and the taste is amazing. They offer their foods at great prices and portions, and in general provide a very wonderful atmosphere that’s hard to find at other locations. Despite the fact that I enjoy Lovfish for the most part, there are some issues that I’ve come by. For one thing, they have a weird gap in their schedule where they open in the morning, close, and then open again at around 4PM or so — I’m not sure why they do it, perhaps it’s due to some management fail, or lack of employees during this time, or maybe they just enjoy a long break — I’m not sure! However, this does end up posing as an inconvenience for most people, and since I get out of school earlier than this, the wait for Poke just becomes a long hassle. Not only this, recently I tried out the albacore, and it has a ridiculously hard-to-eat texture! I’m pretty sure it’s not the fish itself, because albacore from other Poke restaurants surely are not this grainy. I don’t know if I caught them on a bad day, but that was my first and absolute last time eating albacore at Lovfish. Overall though, Lovfish is honestly my go-to place for Poke, not only because it’s nearby, but because it has pretty good quality fish, prices, portion sizes, service, and atmosphere! It doesn’t compare to Poke places that have been around since forever, such as PokiNometry, but it’s great for a restaurant that opened up just a couple of months ago.

Such a serene place for a bowl of refreshing poke. During a recent trip to SoCal, looking for something new to try out that I hadn’t tried in the Bay before and came across this small gem. It wasn’t packed at all, the employees were friendly, and the food is enough to fill you but not as big as other poke places, so don’t expect leftovers. If you like spicy, you might have to pack on some extra spicy mayo and sriracha depending on your taste because my bowl didn’t pack too much heat from the get-go. I ordered a poke bowl with one selection of fish($ 6.95) and got sushi rice, my go-to, never-fails-me salmon, along with ponzu and spicy mayo sauce. Everything tasted flavorful and delicious and the small portion of wakame(seaweed salad) was a plus. Definitely gonna come back next time I take a trip to Disneyland. It’s only about 15 minutes from the park, so why not?

Atmosphere: Spacious Poke joint with plenty of seating and what seems like a remodeled interior. We walked in and immediately noticed the ordering process was a bit confusing. Staff takes your order up front, so you must be prepared. I found this to be a bit complicated because you can’t see the options through the glass. But anyways, we took a seat and staff brought our plates to the table. Items Ordered: Spicy Tuna and Albacore bowl. I was craving something healthy, so Poke was the answer yesterday. I received my order and noticed that everything was nicely placed in the bowl. They even added a piece of seaweed to go along with the bowl. The Tuna and Albacore were very good. The Fish was delicious, every bite was filled with rich flavor. My only complaint was that the bowl was a bit too dry. I would’ve like them to add more sauce. Overall, the poke was good. The prices are normal and the atmosphere was fun and laid back with the cube chairs. Its located near Disneyland, so I may be back.

I love Poke. Poke is goood. But I think to this day, I still haven’t found a place that’s better than PokiNometry. And after eating at Lovfish, I still haven’t. The concept of poke is similar here as well. You can build your own or get one of their default bowls. If you wanna build your own: Step 1: Pick: White rice, brown rice, salad, half and half Step 2: 1 topping $ 6.95, 2 topping $ 7.96, 3 toppings $ 8.95 Toppings include salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, spicy tuna, albacore, crab, tofu [And other specials they might have] Step 3: Pick a sauce Ponzu, eel, sesame, spicy mayo, spicy soy sauce, garlic ponzu, sriracha, garlic oil Included: ginger, wasabi, sesame seed, cucumber salad, imitation crab salad [Reductions possible!] So with my poke bowl, I chose white rice with salmon, tuna, and albacore, which is one of the things I usually get around when eating poki. And ponzu cuz I love me the sweet: P I took out the ginger and wasabi b/c I don’t really like those too much haha. xD After ordering it, it took about 7 minutes for them to complete my order(togo). After getting it back, I started eating it. The whole meal as a complete meal is pretty good and has really good sauce. That is, until you start trying the fish: P The salmon and tuna were okay but the albacore was bitter. It was so bitter that I could tell the difference that what I put in mouth had been, in fact, albacore. It didn’t mix well with the rest of the the bowl and I kinda wonder how fresh the other fish are. The«inclusions» go well together(sauce+salads go well with the rice). Probably wouldn’t come back here, as there are other poke places I can try. Or go back to Pokinometry HAHA. Also after, you can go to the 2nd Almond Haus location!

Been here twice now. Same plaza as the Red Lobster? Plaza doesn’t look like it would be crowded, but finding parking can be a bit of a hassle. It’s a small place with like 5 – 6 tables? So you could create your own poke bowl or order one of their creations. First time I made my mine and the second time I chose one of their creations. So first step is picking your base of either salad or white/brown rice. Second step is picking your fish. They have your typical fish choices like salmon, tuna, spicy tuna, yellowtail, albacore, and shrimp. Third step is your sauce. None of their sauces really stand out, they have your ponzu, spicy mayo, and things similar to that. What I got: Poke Bowl: salad, tuna and salmon, every topping except onions, & spicy mayo and ponzu sauce($ 8): portion size is okay, but I wasn’t full from it like when I get it at other places. No avocado when you create your own poke bowl so boo… Spicy mayo wasn’t spicy and I couldn’t even tell that there was ponzu on it. I had to add more soy sauce to it to give it some kind of flavor. Tuna Bowl($ 7): white rice topped with tuna, masago, avocado, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, ginger, and a piece of nori. Tuna was an oddly more pink than red in color… Didn’t have much flavor either so I dumped the soy sauce and wasabi into the bowl. Salmon Bowl($ 7): white rice topped with salmon, ikura(salmon egg), avocado, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, ginger, and a piece of nori. It also lacked sauce/flavor so pour soy sauce and wasabi on it… Service: Both times I’ve visited, workers were super nice. They brought our food to us and made sure we got the soy sauce and wasabi when we requested it. I have a feeling my BF and I will still be back to give it another try since there aren’t many poke places around that area. Maybe we should try one of the poke from the«Wow Poke Bowl» section…

Pretty good. Ordered a medium rice bowl which came with your choice of two fishes. Got the tuna and yellow tail with garlic ponzu sauce and spicy mayo. They brought us waters to our table which was nice of them. There’s so many poke spots now in OC and this place may be hard to compete with. The pros is that they give you a good amount for a good price $ 7.95 for a medium. The fish tasted fresh and the bowl was overall tasty. The cons is that they are limited in their options, they do not have chips for those who do not want too much rice. In addition the bowls do not come with avocado.

Came by on a Saturday night and it looked pretty slow. Service was good and the lady working was super cute and helpful and explained everything to us: It’s not like pokinometry where they make your bowl right in front of you, but you still have the option to build your own bowl, or you can choose one of their preset bowls($ 10). I decided to build my own. Other than the preset bowls, everything here is pretty standard — just like any other poke place. It’s $ 7 for one scoop of fish, $ 8 for two, $ 9 for three and $ 10 for four. You can also pay an extra .75 to add any/all of their premium toppings, which include: avocado, fried garlic & onions, and jalapeño. Avocado and fried garlic?! I’m down. It ended up being $ 12 for my bowl(4 scoops with all premium toppings) but me and the bf split it and it was enough food for the two of us. We got a mixture of the spicy soy + spicy mayo on sushi rice. The rice seemed to have a bit too much vinegar added, but it wasn’t terrible. The taste was def there but it didn’t really bother me. The chunks of fish were big and fresh. I thought they were generous with their scoops of fish! The only thing is that I wished that they had mixed in some of the toppings like the cucumbers in with the fish/sauce — but I’ll remember that for next time. It’s also much closer to me than pokinometry so that’s a plus!

Portions are decent. Sushi rice has a lot of vinegar and it’s a bit overbearing for me. Spicy mayo sauce is standard — can’t go wrong with it. Small portion of seaweed salad in it wish there was a bit more since I love seaweed salad! For $ 2 you can get a drink + small miso soup. Green tea is refreshing and tastes really refreshing! You can ask for it to be sweetened! Staff is very friendly and attentive, they come around every ten to fifteen minutes to make sure everything is okay. They do charge for extra sauce though :( Worth a try, but definitely not my favorite place.

Maybe this is why your cashier is rude because she learned the esthetic from you. not coming back because I don’t want to deal with service being awful but man, sad cuz the food was good.

Ask any Catholic on a Friday during lent what’s for dinner and sure as hell they will respond with«fish.» But you can only eat so many Filet-O-Fish in your lifetime, thank goodness for the readily available sushi and poke shops that have gained popularity in the past few months. I will say that I only saw went to this place because it was a Unilocal Review of the Day — oh modern marketing you’ve hooked me. Their menu is pretty simple, they have sushi rolls, preassembled sushi bowls, build your own poke bowl and premade poke bowls. In addition they have a small selection of desserts and drinks. For you poke lovers, you get to choose your base(sushi rice, brown rice or salad), next is the protein you get the option of 1 – 3, toppings(note some of these require an additional charge) and lastly the sauces which they separate between spice and non. I was surprised to see the amount of staff on duty when I first walked in the front door. But soon I realized why — they had a nice assembly line going on behind the counter and they even brought your meal right to your table. I decided on the preassembled sushi bowl — the salmon bowl. It came with salmon and ikura with pickled cucumbers and avocado on a bed of sushi rice. Fish was fresh but I was pretty disappointed in the protein to rice ratio. Try the sesame sauce on the side, it was a surprisingly delicious creamy sesame sauce, rich and nutty — the perfect side to dip my salmon in! I love that all of their orders are written in marker on their plastic trays and then wiped down after — yay for saving paper! Now if we can only get them to do away with the styrofoam cups… Some things to note: — Parking is a bit of a pain — the plaza is filled with multiple restaurants so you may have to walk far. — There was a continuous steam of customers and occasionally the line trickled out the door, so don’t try and come here during rush hour and think you will be in and out quickly. — They take both cash and credit, however nothing over a 20. — Reception here is pretty bad, so you will have to save your Unilocaling for after you leave.

Poki joints are popping up everywhere and I love it when I’m not feeling like a sushi roll. This place is located in a random plaza. I don’t have much to say except its pretty good they fill the bowl up to a good amount. I like getting salad more since its less filling or make sure to ask for less rice. Also tell them what you don’t want in it since they add a lot of imitiation crab or even onions. The fish here is pretty fresh also good that they have other options on the menu beside just poki bowls. There menu for sushi looks very affordable. Would definitely come here again. There sauce game is okay I feel like it needs a kick or something.

Lovfish is a pretty solid place to grab your poke fix. There is a wide variety of items, from sushi, sushi bowls, poke bowls, and«wow poke» bowls. Came here craving poke bowls, so that’s what I got. To choose your Poke bowl, there are several steps: — Step 1: choose from sushi rice, brown rice, or salad — Step 2: pick 1 fish($ 6.95), 2 fish($ 7.95), or 3 fish($ 8.95); choose from salmon, tuna, yellowtail, shrimp, spicy tuna, albacore, crab, tofu — Step 3: pick the sauce: ponzu, eel, sesame, spicy mayo, spicy soy sauce, garlic ponzu, sriracha, chili oil. * All poke includes ginger, wasabi, sesame seeds, cucumber, onions, seaweed salad, crab mix. Personally, I chose: — ½ brown rice, ½ salad — 2 fish: spicy tuna and albacore(I swapped with my sister, who also got 2 items, so it is as if we got 3 – 4) — mixture of spicy mayo and garlic ponzu All of the toppings on the bowl were solid. The sauce was amazing(I’d definitely recommend mixing sauces if you’re interested in multiple), and the toppings on top were on point and usually cost more at other poke places. I love how they automatically include the toppings into the bowl unless requested otherwise. Personally, the fish was okay – it was not extremely fresh, as I could taste some of the fishiness, but it wasn’t terrible because of the sauce. That’s probably my only complaint at all. Otherwise, great place to grab your poke fix, and this place definitely knows how to make their sauces, which is one of the hardest things to master at poke places I think. Food was served promptly, service was decent, and the restaurant itself was clean, cute, and homey feeling, especially with the bricks and dark tables. I would probably come back if I’m in the area and am in the mood for this!

Craved poke so went looking for one nearby and found this joint like 2 minutes from my house. Small place but very nice inside. Their sushi rice is really nice, the texture stands out above several other poke places I’ve been to. They have«only» up to three scoops but dont be fooled, their scoops and portions are huge. The salmon is pretty bomb and comes in sizable chunks, though their tuna is a bit run of the mill. The staff are all very friendly, especially the owner. The owner is there pretty often, enough for me to have met her on 4 different occasions from early in the morning and near closing. Tonight, I stopped by after work with my kitchen outfit still on and she gifted me a drink and miso soup with my order for being a working man. Nice. 4.5÷5 Will be coming again.

Been meaning to try Lovfish for a minute now. Its located in the same complex as my bank so I tell myself every time Im going to withdraw money that I should hit up this place after. Never happens. That is until this one rainy night, I was driving home from work and randomly decided to hit up this place. I came through and was already confused. They had the steps if you want to build your own or you can choose from one of their bowls. I glanced and glanced and finally decided I was gonna create my own because… well I can. So had some rice, spicy tuna, shrimp, and one more item that I forgot added in. Mix that with the ponzu sauce and some wasabi on the side… bam a great dinner choice. My friend had one of their already bowls, don’t remember the name. She said here’s was super spicy when she ate it though… sucker I told the cashier chick to add some pepper LOL. My bowl though was the business. I was blown away by the taste. It was fresh, it was yummy and it was relatively affordable. Love the shrimp, that was definitely my favorite part and the ponzu sauce too. The wasabi was surprisingly one of the better ones. Service was nice. The girl looked tired but was all smiles when taking my order. She was super quick and efficient as well. I just had a bit of trouble understanding here accent but that was my fault… my deaf. Overall, this is a solid poke place. Its so close by where I live too I think I might hit up this place more often.

Food was very light and refreshing. A different perspective on sushi. I’m a big sushi lover and this was a interesting spin on my expectations. Now I was eating my poke bowl or whatever it called I did have icy fish which means it was frozen. Not good at all. I think they should add less rice or at least place it on the side. Again good but I would never come back for this deconstructed sushi.

Just left the establishment and I have to say it left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively. Walking in, place looks nice and clean-lots of customers(good sign). Girl in front of me orders and I over hear the woman at the register say,“all that? Just for you? Too much food!” What the… who says that to a customer??? How judgmental! That was insanely rude and the lady ordering justifies herself that it’s for someone else too. Ok. The younger girl took our order, smiled and was very kind. While waiting for our food, a man goes up to the back serving area and mentioned that the lady he was with is allergic to wasabi and they both tasted wasabi in the bowl. That rude woman from the register insistently claims NO, NEVER. Guy says: not even in any of the sauces? Are you saying we don’t know what wasabi tastes like?! She gets angry and starts getting louder,” NONEVERINTHESAUCENOWASABIINHERENEVER!” First off, woah. Calm yourself, you’re arguing with a customer. Secondly the whole establishment just stops to stare and you’re still going ballistic over the fact that customer should be right and even if they were wrong you should just say okay, we’ll make a new one. The lady who he was defending came up to the counter and said its fine. Can we just make a new one? She shouldn’t have had to ask. It should’ve been given the second they complained about it. It was totally unprofessional. On top of unprofessionalism, considering this is a new establishment, I feel like there’s no formal serving system. Servers are going back and forth into the dining area forgetting which table and whom ordered what. What’s the point in giving people numbers if you’re not gonna look for them? They’re better off calling out numbers in the back area because the poor girls look lost walking back and forth with food and drinks asking every single table if they ordered it. Finally, our food comes. I chose salmon, spicy tuna and yellowtail. Sauces I chose were spicy mayo and spicy garlic ponzu. Good sauce selection. However, I have eaten plenty of fish to know frozen from fresh, sashimi grade from not. It’s not fresh nor all were sashimi grade but it is edible. To most they won’t know the difference. The slices were bigger chunks with firmer texture rather than buttery-like bite which means it’s unlikely to be sashimi grade. I still would eat it though but for those claiming it’s the freshest fish they’ve had. Not sure where you get your fish from prior to this. Overall, the experience was mediocre. Maybe because of everything that led up to this is what made the experience had to like. Food is pretty decent and considering its garden grove it’s one of the closer spots for poke bowls. Maybe, I’ll give it another shot another time. Maybe… then possibly review this again. But probably not during lunch peak hours. Seriously though for management… address that woman who was off the rails and blatantly rude to customers. She would be a big reason why I wouldn’t want to come back.

It’s currently my favorite poke place. I was a little confused when ordering because it wasn’t an assembly line. You order at the register first and wait for your order to be ready. I like that they have the option of 1, 2, or 3 scoops. I opted for 3 since that’s what I’m used to but I definitely see the appeal of just one scoop. I got salmon, tuna, and yellowtail with brown rice, spicy shoyu, and added on the premium toppings. It was wonderful! I wasn’t a fan of the sauce, but I still really enjoyed my bowl. It was filling! I do wish it came with a bit more avocado tho :( I like that they also have rolls here. I’m all about basic rolls so having the option of adding a roll for $ 3 – 4 was great! I can’t wait to come back

Lovfish Poke Bowl is a poke place in Garden Grove. They are tucked in a strip mall between a surgical center and dry cleaners place. They have sushi rolls, sushi bowls, and poke bowls. You have the option of making your own poke bowl. By the way, this isn’t an assembly-line type of poke place. You order at the counter and there’s this chalk board type menu that lists all the steps. I’ve been here a few times. I usually get the customize your own poke bowl with salmon, sushi rice, and spicy mayo. If I’m super hungry, then I’ll double up on the salmon. The salmon is fresh. The fish portions are much smaller than other poke places I’ve been to. But then again, their small size begins with one scoop whereas other places the small size begins with two scoops. The imitation crab mixture is pretty good. The spicy mayo gives the salmon a nice creamy and spicy flavor. The sushi rice texture is soft. I have tried the ponzu sauce before and found it to be quite bland. It was after that visit that I tried spicy mayo which became my go-to sauce. On a side note, there was only one time where they didn’t have any more sushi rice because they were going to close soon for the evening. As a result, they asked if I wanted either brown rice or salad. I tried the brown rice and unfortunately the texture was a bit hard. From that point forward, I try to go earlier so I would be sure to be in time for sushi rice. All poke bowls include imitation crab, ginger, masago, onions, sesame seeds, cucumber slices, and seaweed salad. I now request for no cucumber slices since anything that is underneath that ends up tasting like cucumber. I don’t really like the texture of the seaweed salad so I request for no seaweed salad. That’s just my personal preference, my opinion shouldn’t steer you away from it if you do like cucumber or seaweed salad. I feel the onions do give a nice kick to the dish and the masago adds a nice texture to the fish. From my second visit onward, the owner would ask if I wanted some miso soup. The miso soup here is pretty good. Small pieces of tofu with some seaweed. The broth wasn’t salty which was good. The service here is great. The food usually comes out promptly. The owner is really warm and friendly. This is probably the first time where I’ve been to a make-your-own food place where is the owner and the other employees are super nice and welcoming. The imitation crab mixture is great as it is not too heavy with the mayo. The spicy mayo gives the salmon a nice creamy and spicy flavor. The sushi rice is soft. This is probably the first time where I’ve been to a make-your-own-type food place where is the owner and the other employees are super nice and welcoming. Usually I would feel rushed at these kinds of places but not here. Overall, great poke bowls with friendly service. Super fresh salmon and everything else in the bowl is pretty good. They’re quickly becoming my favorite poke place. Will be back for more visits.

I am thankful for having my lunch at this place, and just wanna share something with foodies on here. The most incredible of this kind of poke bowl is the miso soup. As i knew about, the miso soup used to be made with soy paste, seaweed but i feel like there is still another ingredient that makes the soup tastes differently favored compared to other sushi and poke places on my food checkmarks. Still something need to be fixed. My poke bowl came out literally slow, and i think the matter is they are newly opened and still need more food helpers instead of just one or 2 persons at the front. Anyway, give it a try, you all.(the waitress is cute LOL)

there is no such thing as too much poke. this was definitely an above average poke joint. the service was great and they offer free miso soup. hits the spot on a cold day. the downside is that you can’t view the fish before you order. i like to order the freshest fish based on what looks good. i can’t complain though. the fish i ordered all tasted fresh.

Must Order: poke bowl(duh!) I’m from Hawaii and like any good Hawaii local I’m obsessed with poke bowls. It’s interesting to see a lot of these poke bowl places pop up all over SoCal and I’m equal parts happy and cautious. What makes these SoCal poke bowl places different from the poke bowls in Hawaii is that it’s a lot like your build-your-own pizza/sub/burrito type place and all of your fish and sauces are mixed together. Versus in Hawaii, your poke mix is preset and you just choose between the type you want and the rice you want it on. LuvFish as a SoCal style poke bowl place, probably has one of the better selections with fresh tasting fish(this is super important!) and lots of sauce and topping options. My bowl order was: Bottom: brown & sushi rice(next time I’d do sushi rice & salad) Fish: spicy ahi, and chunks of ahi and salmon Sauce: spicy shoyu and sesame Toppings: avo, crispy onions & garlic, drizzle of eel sauce Everything tasted yummy and fairly fresh(I was slightly put off by the spicy ahi but once I drizzled more of the eel sauce on it, it was better). Service was great. Although I think my husband was disappointed that he couldn’t get his poke like how it is done in Hawaii. All in all, one I would try again when I get a poke bowl craving!

Tried this place out on their opening day. Their food was very good, friendly service, clean atmosphere, portions are good, and prices too! Update: been a regular customer now at LuvFish, food has continued to be fresh and delicious. Service is super friendly and quick. I’m so happy I have this restaurant in my area! Try the booster if you’re looking for something to give you some pep!

So, I finally tried this place again, this time I actually dined in and brought along some friends too! Happy to say that I really enjoyed my second time, and seemed like my friends did too. Again, can’t stress enough that the cut of fish here are much bigger than all these poke joints that are popping up in OC. So glad this place has fresh fish with decent sizes AND good sauce options, cause I’ve been so tired of going to others where the cut of fish is tiny, the scoops are just as small, and flavorless, lackluster sauces. This time around, I tried the spicy, garlic ponzu, which is probably a new option since last time, cause I definitely didn’t see it then. Also ordered the sesame sauce on the side. The ponzu sauce had a really nice, citrusy tartness, more so than to my liking though. And I absolutely love the creamy sesame sauce, almost reminds me of goma. Next time, I’m probably going to stick with mixing the sesame with the spicy soy sauce. Overall, the service and food were great, checked up on us consistently, filled our waters. No frills or crazy toppings, just good poke. And with it being so close to work, might just enjoy poke more often than I should. P. S. Still loving that complimentary miso, enjoy it while it lasts!

Food: My sister and I shared a Lovfish bowl(large size). It was okay. It came with sushi rice which added a sweet & tart flavor. It was a bit overpowering. The mildy spicy sauce on the tuna was good. Price: ~$ 11 for a large bowl. Portion size was good to split between two people looking for a light lunch. Free!!: We got one complementary miso soup! Apparently the owners give it out for free whenever they feel like it(we went on a cold, rainy day) Environment: We went around 3pm on Sunday. It was really empty and spacious. A cozy place for parties of 1 – 4 people. Anymore and it can be crowded.

Eating here right now. Heard something drop in the kitchen and then saw my very nice server come out(along with another Hispanic worker) towards the door where I’m sitting. Thinking the back just dropped something and she was telling me checking up on me, i asked her if she had eel sauce. She said she was so sorry but she is not able to work at this moment and if i needed something she can ask the front. When she left and along with the other back server, i heard screaming in Chinese. I now realize the cook threw something at the floor and had a major temper tantrum so loud we, the customers, could hear it. We’re all rushing to finish our food bc it’s some serious yelling in there and throwing stuff. I’m not sure if they fired those two young Hispanic workers who seemed very nice and professional but they just lost good workers and customers. And as I’m typing this, they’re still fighting. Will leave immediately bc it sounds bad. They’re not stopping. They have no respect for the food established. Quick update: the person yelling was a young asian guy(maybe related bc it’s a small establishment and the owner is a middle aged woman). He came out of the back as he was yelling. My brother and I ran out of there as fast as possible. Still had food and a drink pretty full. It’s one thing to dismiss those nice workers but it’s very out-of-control behavior to come out yelling where customers are! Will not return. The food wasn’t anything special and the place smelled rotting. I’m an avid sushi/sashimi eater but this place just smelled foul. Oh and the food is okay. The place smells kinda bad. I get it that it’s seafood but other poke places don’t have that bad fish rotting smell. Btw, this was during they’re grand opening

DELICIOUS!!! I’m thrilled to have a yummy poke place down the street from my house. Its similar to other poke places: rice, imitation crab, cucumber salad, seaweed salad, fish, etc. One scoop is $ 6.95, 2 is $ 7.95, and 3 is $ 8.95. You can add avocado, fried onions, or fried garlic for $.75. They also have hand and cut rolls. I ordered a scoop of albacore and a scoop of spicy tuna. It also comes with a giant scoop of imitation crab, seaweed salad, ginger, and cucumber salad. The cucumber salad is picked just right! I would order just a side of that next time. The sushi rice has a great vinegar taste and balances with the fish very well. The fish itself tastes fresh. The albacore is cut into big chunks and looks like it is great quality. I topped mine off with the spicy ponzu which had a kick to it. On top of the great food, the service is phenomenal! The guy at the counter greeted us and brought our drinks and utensils to the table. The woman behind the counter came by to check on us and asked us how everything tasted. Safe to say, I’m coming back!

Found this place on Unilocal because it’s near my internship and I love it! Service was definitely an A+ as well as their fish. I got the small poke bowl with salmon which is $ 6.95 for one pick, $ 7.95 for two picks, and so on! Everything in my bowl honestly tasted really fresh and you can really tell. The lady there was super nice. She brought my food out for me, with water and also offered me complimentary miso soup which was the perfect combination for my poke bowl :) This cute little place will be my go-to. Can’t wait to return and try their other stuff! Also, try to tip if you can! It’s not typically a place where you would tip but they do have a tip jar and I just had to tip for such awesome service! :)

LOVELOVELOVE this place! After my last review, I was kindly contacted by the owner, which was greatly appreciated. I came here again for lunch on a Monday afternoon. We were greeted by the owner, and she was so kind and made sure that my order was correct this time. I’ve tried so many poke places, and I love the quality, service, and taste of my food. I love the fried garlic pieces you get from the add-ons, which I highly recommend.

Customer service was really good. I got the In Love bowl off the Wow Poke bowls menu. My guy friend got the Booster. The In Love actually comes with real small cubes mango. The sauce was good. Too much salad for me though. And — too much ginger and onions made it kind of spicy. Other than that, the fish is really fresh and on point. Will be back again The owner is super friendly and gave us free miso soups and ice cream when we left. Their iced green tea is made with real green tea. Kind of bitter based on my taste preference. I had to go to 7 Leaves afterwards to get myself a Lychee tea.

I came here the other day on my lunch break & I must say I like how convenient this place was. This little hole in the wall is located in a busy shopping center; it is located closer to the back near the cleaners. I usually turn to Pokinometry as my «go-to» poke bowl, but this place wins in terms of convenience. They’re still fairly new, so there isn’t a crazy long line & the workers are pretty quick. Instead of having an assembly line, they take your order at the register & write down exactly what you want, so there is no confusion in your order. I ordered their large salad, which came with the option of 3 types of fish — I chose tuna, salmon & yellowtail — & then whatever their included toppings were. Although the scoops of fish look kinda skimpy, I actually felt like it was a good amount. Fish seemed fairly fresh & I liked their sauce(I mixed their ponzu sauce + chili oil) My only complaint would be that it was a little too oily/saucy at the bottom of my bowl. Overall, I will definitely be returning. This place wins in terms of convenience & price(only $ 8.95 for a large bowl!!) Oh AND this place also serves sushi rolls & salads!

I was really excited to try this place since it’s super close to where I live and my friends keep raving about it, but meh. I was not impressed. I got the 3 scoop option(2 salmon and 1 yellowtail), with brown rice and spicy soy sauce + spicy mayo. The bowl also came with ginger, seaweed salad, seaweed, onions, and masago. Fish wasn’t as fresh as I thought/heard it would be and sauces were extremely bland. I do like how it comes with a side of miso soup though. Overall, this place is meh. I don’t think I’d come back.

I have to admit when I see five stars on Unilocal I’m always intrigued, especially when it’s followed by only one $. So as the guys and I left the Grove in Anaheim looking for a good sushi spot nearby, it appeared Lovfish was the clear choice for dinner. Just a few minutes later, we pulled into a small strip mall where Lovfish is located(thank you WAZE) and there was a ton of parking to be found. We must’ve timed it just right, because when we arrived, there was no line. However, a short time after we ordered, the place filled up. Ordering wasn’t the easiest task in the world as the menu is rather confusing. The register lady had a hard time explaining how the menu worked, but luckily we were able to decipher it on our own and get something that we wanted. I went with the tuna and yellowtail combo, served on sushi rice, and made a combo sauce(build your own) with creamy sesame and chili. It was pretty apparent that both the register lady and the poke bowl maker were not Japanese but either Chinese or Southeast Asian which tends to send up a red flag for me. So when I received my poke bowl and California rolls, how pleasantly surprised was I to find the presentation on both were excellent even though served on plastic and Styrofoam? And the taste, they nailed it! Rice was done perfectly, El dente but not dry, and the seasoning was spot on being lightly sweet with a tinge of sour from the vinegar, just right. The fish was also fresh and not fishy and very flavorful. The combo sauce I went with(recommended by the register lady) that I was skeptical about initially, turned out to be very tasty, and matched the sushi rice perfectly. I only detracted a star for 1, plastic and Styrofoam and 2, they could’ve gone a bit more sophisticated on the seating area and not have it so casual. All in all, an extremely good place to get a poke bowl and sushi rolls. WIll be back!

Great poke spot that just opened recently! I’ve been here three times now. The first time I went, I wasn’t a fan because their brown rice was really sticky and soggy, but the past two experiences have been really great. I usually get half brown rice and half salad with yellow tail and spicy tuna. It also automatically comes with masago eggs, imitation crab, seaweed salad, and cucumber. For $ 0.75, they’ll add in avocado, jalapeño, fried garlic, and fried onion. I really recommend getting these add ons. The fried garlic adds so much flavor. I like to mix up my sauces. Sometimes I’ll get the spicy mayo. sometimes I’ll get spicy soy. I also add in chili oil because I love spicy food. My bowls come out extremely flavorful. The service here is absolutely amazing. Every time I come, it’s the same two people working, so I’m guessing they’re the owners. They’re super nice and provide excellent service each time. I came on a rainy day and found out that they do a 20% off rainy day special which was awesome to find out. They lady also gave me a free soda and some miso soup. Definitely one of my favorite poke restaurants and will be back for more!

I actually like the poke here after my second visit! I was impressed and it improved a lot since my first visit. Delicious fresh fish for a great price and portion! The owner is very sweet and makes great short conversation with each guest. The workers easily explain how their customizable bowls differ from other locations and give details in what goes in them. It is a very inviting poke location. They are tucked away in a quiet plaza that doesn’t receive much traffic so i hope that they are able to get the word spread that this poke location is good! Their dessert is soo good their green tea cheesecake and ice cream cups are so yummy I want more!

Came here for lunch with the office crew. Décor has an urban feel to it with lots of seating. Service was quick and the food was great. Everyone tried something different. I personally had the Booster Poke bowl. Sauce was good and the fish was fresh. Well be back soon for another lunch run.
