Harbor Spa

I went to Harbor Spa today for the first time and had Kenny as my masseur. I arrived a few minutes early, and they put me in my room, small nicely appointed room, especially for a place that charges $ 30/​hour. Kenny arrived on time — very nice man, and a good massage. The only negative was that they were not that busy (on a wed afternoon of course) and all the other ladies were chatting in the other room and the music was a bit low so all you heard was the talking — until Kenny went out and asked them to move. So they were accommodating. I get a massage every week and would be willing to try them again

This massage place is a great place for a CHEAP hour massage. I have gone here several times but I am not disappointed… The only thing is your massage lady will straight up ask for a 10 dollar tip to your face. I think it’s really weird I’m a good tipper anyways but please don’t tell me what to tip you it’s annoying and not professional at all.

Really meant to give this place 0 stars. Wow this place is so disgusting! I had this lady name Lily, she spoke English, but didn’t listen at all! What’s worse is that I have all these bumps from the sheets & towels. Soo disgusting. On top of that, I have scratch marks from her long nails. I can’t wait to shower! Reeks like cigarettes & roach coach hotel. I’m an idiot for listening to Unilocal reviews! Just don’t! Turn around, spend your money on professionals, & go to another place. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! In all seriously– shut this place down. Sketch!

This OK place not expensive and very legit not that clean and parking space is limited.

Uhhh, I have to point out this place is not that worthy four stars. I have tried all the massage store in Gergen grove, and this place I think is worst. My girl friend and I had 90 minutes massage, and the room and place smell not good (some fish smell or onion.) and their bed sheet is a little dark (dirty), and my massager picked up her phone for four times, and talk aloud outside. Anyway, probably never come back again, and hope they can improve it.

Ehh not so great. The place kinda smelled like cigarettes. My masseuse checked her phone a few times during the message and also left the room a few times. Definitely didn’t get a full hour massage when you count all the stopping. They may have even switched masseuses on me in the middle of the massage… I couldn’t tell.
Still they were nice and it’s cheap. It’s hard to complain about a $ 30 private room massage so that’s why I will still give them three stars. But I probably wouldn’t go back.

She removed my underwear. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, but that was not what happened. Harbor Spa is actually a legit veggie massage parlor. All the masseuse are licensed therapists and over 40 years old. Their certificates are proudly hung on the wall of the reception area. There are only two services offered at Harbor Spa — foot massage in the common room ($ 20/​hr) or body massage in a private room ($ 30/​hr). Pay up front.
I’m sure you are curious as to why the masseuse removed my undergarment. Just between us girls, it was to expose my buttock. She wanted access to an area where she would spend a lot of time massaging (this was all done facing down). In fact, she spent about 20 minutes applying stress and strokes to the gluteal and lumbar muscles. These were areas that I felt chronic tension, due to the accumulation of sitting the majority of the day at work, and exacerbated from sitting at a super non-​ergonomic chair at 7 Leaves Café earlier in the day. The butt massage helped alleviate the tightness in my gluteal muscles. I have never encountered a masseuse who would spend time on this treatment.
Outside of the spectacular butt massage, the remainder of the routine was standard and highly mechanical. 10 minutes on the shoulder and neck. 20 minutes on chest, arms, scalp, legs.
I wish massage spas would ditch the scalp and chest massage all together because it is not therapeutic at all. Not beneficial, not desirable, a complete waste of time. It would be more productive for these filler routines to be replaced with more strokes to the neck and shoulder, where many people experience tension and pain.
In terms of pressure, I had asked for a strong, firm, hard massage, but my masseuse was only able to apply a «medium» pressure. When she did attempt to give hard pressure, it was done over a towel. Regions of my shoulder and between my T3 and T7 remained a bit tight after the massage and could have used some more deep compression for muscle relaxation. My back does feel more relaxed after the massage, but compared to the results from some massages I had in San Gabriel, the difference I felt today was not as apparent.
My rating of Harbor Spa is somewhere between «average» and «good». I would only consider returning if there is a masseuse that can actually give a hard massage and if the massage does not terminate short of the full hour (today, it ended after 50 minutes).

Can’t beat a $ 30.00 full body massage done by a true professional. Clean facilities and enjoyed the hot rocks as well. My masseuse this visit was Sofia and will be sure to ask for her again. Left feeling very relaxed!

Kenny and Tracy have been our therapists for more than 4 years. Now they are @ Harbor Spa. We like that we can get our massages together in the couples room. I like that everything is clean, clean, clean.
Both my husband and I are picky about our massages. We love that we can make an appt. on the same day and get a great massage. Parking can be a challenge so leave extra time to find parking.
Ladies, if you are hesitant to have a guy give you a massage, don’t be. Kenny isn’t like some of those creepy guys. He is very professional. He makes sure that you are always covered and his hands never «accidentally» stray where they shouldn’t. He just gives a great strong massage. He will do whatever pressure you like, I just happen to prefer a strong massage.

I get these crazy knots in my shoulder area that only Keny can resolve. You have no idea how long he has been my massage therapist. I have followed him from 3 different places for over 3 years. He gives hella deep tissue and makes you feel like a million dollars. His massages definitely hurt so good and makes your muscles relax for the following few days.
