Everything in Orange Country is 25 minutes away… That put a damper on the experience, especially because like every other establishment around here, it’s located in a desolate strip mall with nothing around it left to explore. Once arrived, we were promptly seated in our companion’s favorite spot at the back next to the faux waterfall. At some point between patiently waiting to order and promptly receiving the goods, the lights in the whole establishment went out. Other than the fire of the coal flints from the sheeshas we could see the lights on the dusky street. There wasn’t commotion, but I certainly hope that this boat’s generator doesn’t die every evening. The food here was the basic Arabic fair of kebabs and shawermas but the marinate of the meet was superb, and the meat was tender enough, even though I might like it a bit more so. The presentation included tasty seasoned rice and pickled veggies. We’d ordered a 1⁄3 too much food for the three of us so I can’t blame the check for being a little high, for a place that bills itself as less than gourmet. Between the random location(killer long drive), slowish but sweet service, the yummy traditional food, hookas and generous portions, I think the place is 3.5 star, and a borderline repeat destination.
