Prior to calling Augustino’s yesterday I had called Santa Fe Importers and asked for a salad for 8 people. She promptly told me in a not too friendly voice that they don’t do that and could only do individual salads. Amazing?! So I hung up and called Augustino’s and asked the gentleman if they could do a salad for 8 people. He said of course they could do a family style salad. I told him my son would pick it up at 3pm. My son arrives at 3 and there is a sign on the door that they closed at 2pm due to a wedding. The lights are dimmed so my son knocks on the door and is promptly greeted by a nice gentlemen who asks if he is there for the salad? This guy waited an HOUR for my son to pick this up! Now i feel bad because we could have been there earlier, but the point is AMAZINGCUSTOMERSERVICE and a great salad to boot!

My family ordered the family deal tonight. It came with a large two topping pizza, tray of spaghetti and meat sauce, tray of salad and their famous garlic knots. Everything was fantastic!!! The family deal actually fed 6 adults, for a reasonable price. Prior to tonight I hadn’t been to Augustinos in a while, but after this great meal I’ll definitely be back soon!

It’s been a while since my last review so I thought I’d take the time out tonight and give good old Augustino’s a rating. Here is a quick back story. The owners about oh, I don’t know, 12 – 15 years ago were amazing. They were always friendly and treated me and a buddy of mine to an occasional beer here and there. The Calzone’s is all we ever ordered and were absolutely amazing. They cooked the toppings in oil along with some seasoning before stuffing that yummy dough. I’m pretty old fashion for a young guy and I typically go with pepperoni with bell peppers here and there. Once it changed owners, the food just wasn’t the same and never went back again. Flash forward to 2016. After reading some reviews, both positive and negative, I thought I would give it a shot. The wife was hungover, didn’t go to work and sadly I came home to no dinner. ;o)~ So I ordered a pepperoni and bell pepper Calzone tonight to compare the yummyness that I had the pleasure of experiencing frequently years ago. Couple of factors to take into consideration here, I ordered on a Thursday night and it was an hour before closing time. That does not mean my call in order wouldn’t be any different if I ordered at lunch time but, I can’t say. The kid behind the counter greeted me with a smile and was very courteous. Could be the owners son and if so, solid job kid. By the time I got there the food was ready and felt like it was fresh out the oven. Overall, the Cazone exceeded my expectations. The Calzone had a pretty even spread of sauce and cheese with plenty of toppings stuffed inside. The dough was my only slight if you will. I personally felt that it was to doughy. It almost seemed like day old dough. All you pizza lovers know what I’m talking about. That microwaved texture you get from reheating the pizza from the night before you didn’t remember getting because you had one to many brewski’s. Score… I would probably go with less than a 4 star rating as their website is how I like to say, «Weak Sauce». Cheers!

My mom was craving a meatball so we ended up calling in a to-go order for six meatballs and garlic bread for the family. Picked it up in ten minutes. Overall, I would order the meatballs again but not the garlic bread. It was stiff and way too greasy. Good spot for a meatball fix.

This is my new go to Italian restaurant. Yummy stuffed shells, I will order easy sauce next time. They give you a lot. Took awhile for food to come out but it was worth the wait. Bread was great. Service was friendly.

I moved to Garden Grove about a year ago, but it took me until about 30 days ago to find this hidden gem. I’ve been back about 5 times since then. Nice folks running the joint and the food is fantastic! I love the meatball calzone! Great meatballs and the sauce is out of this world! The other things I’ve tried were also really good. Yes, there are some comments on here about the service being a bit slow in the dining room, I’ve experienced the same thing. However, I’m still giving them 5 stars. No restaurant is perfect and there are always places for improvement. Great food at great prices. Something that is really hard to find these days. Highly recommended.

Over am hour wait to get food. Asked for more bread rolls and was told they are short on bread. Been coming here for years food has always been good but service not the best. Tonight we waited over an hour for food not acceptable. Few visits from waitress to keep us updated but she was nice. Not sure if we will return

I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and fried zucchini. I really did love the pizza crust. Thin, crispy, not greasy, and cooked to perfection. I think I’d try a different pizza next time, even if it was delicious. It was overpowered with bbq sauce but was stacked with chicken. You definitely get your money’s worth! And oh, the fried zucchini. Little sticks of fried goodness. I’d go back simply to get another order! I will definitely be back!

Once again I’m sitting here waiting for my pizza. In my last 4 visits I have come when they told me my pizza would be ready and I wait for 30 minutes. NEVER again. It isn’t worth it, plus they are not busy and it’s a pizza. Should never take this long with no people here. I would give 0 stars if I could but it does not let me.

I love this place! Cozy with great food. My husband and I are regulars on Friday afternoons. No one favorite dish. The service is great and the atmosphere is friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Came in after a game hoping to have a good meal before our teams second game. We sat for an hour and 25 mins with just bread and water. I will say the bread was delicious. We never got to eat our food, we had to take everything to go. Upon asking for our food to go, we were told that it takes 10 minutes for the pizzas, and approx 5 minutes for the salads. The funny thing is, families came in after us and got their salads and pizza. Since the team was not able to get their food within enough time to have it digest before they game, they did not eat. It’s a shame the service was so bad, because the food seemed promising. By the time the girls actually get to eat the food will be ice cold, and we won’t be able warm it up until after they play a full basketball game, and take the hour and a half drive home.

The food tastes like homemade. It has that traditional flavor you look for in a speciality restaurant. The complementary bread and sauce are to die for. The service was good. The menu has a large variety of choices. No complains at all. I will definitely come back with my family.

One of my pet peeves is being ignored after being seated. Our waiter,(Augustino himself?) petted my peeve by seating us and then disappearing for what seemed like a good 10 minutes. He finally came out and took our orders. Soon after we were served a basket of garlic bread balls and a small bowl of marinara sauce. The bread was good but the marinara sauce was VERY good! Soon our soups and salads were delivered. The minestrone and salads we fine as well. But no one liked the main plates. The mini-pizza was bland, the sub sandwich had too little meat and too much soft bread, and the spinach ravioli wasn’t that tasty either. We all agreed that a better meal would have been the bread balls and just soup or salad. A lot less wasted food that way too.

This a local neighborhood spot so I really want to be able to support it and give a good review, but after dining in many times over the years and also having take out I think we are finally done. Every time I go back trying to give them another chance but every time we are let down. 1. Service Is extremely slow, yes they cook to order, but it should never take 45 to an hour to get your food ever… This happens every time we order take out and dining room service can take just as long. 2. Quality of service is poor, when placing orders you are told will take 20 minutes and they make you wait 50 minutes without any real apology or attempt to make it «right» Unfortunately even though the food is good, it is not good enough to outweigh the poor service.

The bread pretzel rolls they start you with a the bomb diggity. Those things were gone in less then a minute. We ordered the fried ravioli, Alfredo, and lasagna. Fried Ravioli was good. Not completely mind blowing but good. Alfredo was delicious, no idea why it looks super basic but it was delicious. Lasagna, also delicious. I’ve had some pretty damn good lasagna and this one wasn’t the best but its up there. Service is good. Everyone is sweet and quick. Food comes quick also. Their was a birthday next to us and all(3) employees can to sing Happy birthday(1 being the chef) it was cute. Great small easy going Italian place. Will come back.

Ever been to Albertson’s? Ever been to the frozen food isle? Ever thought, «hmm, lasagna sounds good?» Ever paid more for the same thing at a restaurant? Hit the frozen food isle; it’s cheaper. Possibly tastier, too.
