Kelly is an exceptional hairstylist! My hair was a train wreck from a previous botched dye job & Kelly listened to my fears, wants & needs. Together we formed a plan of action & as she explained everything step by step, she eased my nerves. Kelly has the perfect pressure during the shampoo and was very aware of MY comfort! By the end of the service I was completely relaxed & had gone from looking like a calico cat back
to the natural looking red headed Irish girl I am! And the eyebrow shaping is the best I have EVER had! She had me looking great just in time for the holidays! Kelly’s the best!

I am so in love with this salon. Having lived on the island for over 2 years now — and trying out several other places, my search is finally over. The beachy atmosphere is perfect for Galveston, so fun and relaxing. I called Pat after a very bad haircut from another salon. He worked me in the same day! Not only did he totally fix the other cut, but he was so much fun to talk to. One of the nicest and most interesting stylists I’ve ever met! My hair turned out EXACTLY like I wanted. If you are looking for a great salon in Galveston, don’t waste your time on other places! I will definitely be back.

Pat’s been doing my hair for seven years and I’m always so happy w/​his work: highlights that suit my coloring, the occasional lowlights just to keep things natural-​looking, perfect face-​flattering cuts and
a skilled, very professional stylist with a mellow, interesting and fun personality. I always leave here completely satisfied and utterly relaxed.

Rob at Wavelengths was awesome! It was my first time so he asked me to fill out a questionnaire. These are questions you wish every stylist would use. It didn’t stop there … Rob asks questions throughout my sitting and actually listens to what YOU WANT. My color covered my overdone highlights and I left with a beautiful subtle brown. My lowlights were spot on and hardly noticeable except in the sun. My trim was natural and styled in a way I know I can duplicate. I am definitely going back next month when my gray roots grow out and my daughters, my biggest critics, love the style so much they want it to stay short. Maybe I’ll do just that! Thanks Rob!

Rob is amazing!!! He literally gets my hair! I have been to the top salons in nyc and no one compares to him! Trust me you wont be disappointed!

I’ve gone here to get my hair cut since I was a kid. I’ve never had a bad experience and I’ve always loved how my hair came out. Everyone who works here is really friendly and talented. Pat does an amazing job with my cut, and Chelsea has done a fantastic job doing my hair for special events like prom. I can’t recommend this place enough.

I absolutely love this place and will keep going. I had PAT as my stylist and got a cut and color. I was able to pick out exactly what color I wanted. I had walked In thinking there was no hope seeing as how my last stylist at a different place completely butchered my hair. The end was fantastic and exactly what I wanted and throught the time he kept mentioing how he was trying to make the experience for the customer better and how he can imporove their experience when they get their hair done. He was so nice and really took his time. GO SEE PAT. HE’S EXCELLENT.

I have been going to Pat for several years, as do many of my friends and not once has he disappointed me with my cut or color. He is a perfectionist and listens to what I have to say about anything I want to try.
Pat’s pricing is beyond fair. He has the experience and ability to charge more but he doesn’t. Best Haircut Ever!
I will forever love the fact that I can call and get an appointment and know that as the owner of the salon (not to mention the fact that he lives just upstairs) that he will always be there on time, if not early, and take the time to make me feel like I am the most important person during that appointment.
I would give him 10 stars if I could!

Note: I don’t like giving one star reviews, nor do I give them often, but I am so unbelievably disappointed in this place, and specifically with the hairstylist Pat.
I got an appointment for a cut and color in the morning, and the day of my appointment he showed up about 15 minutes late. This should have been my red flag.
I had several pictures of the color I wanted, including a picture of myself with the hair color I had previously. This should have been straight forward, but instead he shows me a book and makes me pick out the dye. What? I’m not a colorist, and you shouldn’t make your client pick out the dyes to be mixed when we, the clients, don’t know what the resulting color will look like. I told him this, but he went ahead and took the two colors and started mixing.
Through the process I could tell my hair was going to be really really red, not at ALL what I asked for. I asked for medium to dark brown with only a hint of red, but my hair came out light brown/​red. I was disappointed but decided to deal with it since it didn’t look terrible and I could get it done again in a few months.
I’d also like to note that while I was there, Pat mentioned a discount for artists if they scheduled on a certain day. He mentioned this several times, because I thought he was joking at first… but even when I left he said to be sure to call next time to ask for the artist discount. So of course, I called a few months later and asked about it and he thought I was joking. He then proceeded to yell over the phone like I was some kind of an a-​hole person for even asking for a discount. Needless to say I was in complete shock. I still can’t believe it, and I can’t believe someone who is supposed to be a professional would be so incredibly rude to a past client.
Even if the whole «artist discount» was his idea of a joke, why would he not mention that he wasn’t being serious? Instead he made me feel like the worst person in the world for asking about it. I would absolutely never come here again and would never recommend it.

I’d like to mention that after I wrote this review I received personal hate mail from one of Pat’s friends. Pretty sad when someone can’t write an honest review without receiving unwarranted messages!
That said, I’d like to reiterate that I don’t have many 1 star reviews. At the moment, I have 2. Going to Wavelengths was the worst salon experience in my life and Pat is the most unprofessional hairstylist I’ve ever met. I won’t repeat my review as it’s all above ^^^ but I will add that he made my experience uncomfortable by constantly talking highly of himself as well as telling me personal details of his ex wife and current wife. Like I said, unprofessional.
If you do decide to come here, please ask for someone other than Pat. Though in general I’d be wary of some of the others since there was another stylist who showed up 20 minutes late to a woman who was on her lunch break. I’m just not sure this place is up to par with what is expected with professional stylists.

This is the best kept secret (when it comes to hair salons) in Galveston. I got my hair cut by the owner tom. Not only did he stay late just to do my hair he really took his time and got all the split ends with out compromising the length of my hair, which is my pet peeve. He was a great conversationalist and also a great inventor, solving all the shops problems with his particular ways. Also the best price for a hair cut /​style $ 25. I recommend to anyone who was a great conversation and the best hair cut in awhile :)

Got my hair cut here by Charles and it is super cute! We had a great conversation, he gave me a lot of advice, and he wasn’t afraid to give me what I called a «cross between Madonna and Grace Jones.» My hair looks super edgy and I couldn’t be happier. The place was also very clean, had a well stocked bathroom and everyone was super friendly! I don’t even live in Galveston but I would definitely go back!
