Galveston Island Visitor Center

Located in an incredibly beautiful building, this Visitors’ Center has provided us with great information on a location we knew little to nothing about.
The staff was amicable, patient, informative and super enthusiastic upon learning they were giving tips to Italians.
Upfront and honest about which experience would provide for the best of our stays, I do believe these ladies have more than meet the eye and knowledge is but a few words away.
Brochures were handed out according to our requests and not simply picked up as a bulk and handed over without further explanation.
On the premises, public restrooms as well as a little gift shop are available.
All in all, I recommend a little stop and chat.

Located in the carriage house of the historic Ashton Villa mansion. I always stop at the visitor center when traveling. There are plenty of free brochures and maps. Public restrooms available (which are difficult to find on the seawall, unless you are willing to use a port-​a-​potty.) The 2 women working there could have been friendlier. Maybe they were volunteers, I don’t know. They seemed like they would rather sit at the desk than help people. Anyway, I would recommend stopping here when you arrive on the island.

This visitor center is full of nice and informative staff and information! You will find a clean restroom on the premise, along with plenty of parking. They also carry loads of maps, tour information, interactive stations, mini video clip of the area and a lot more.
It is a must stop if you are new to the area.
