Be inspired to cook at The Kitchen Chick! This darling store is a gem to this island filled with the most unique & clever cooking gadgets that will make you want to get in your kitchen and start cooking. There is also a thoughtful selection of cookbooks to help with your creativity in the kitchen. I want to go back and buy them all! I walked in the other day to find my «special someone» a Valentine’s Day gift and wanted to do so quickly. However, it took me a long time to decide on which perfect gift to buy because there were so many cute things. I also want to add that Alicia, The Kitchen Chick, was sweet, friendly & helpful. I am so grateful that she shares her passion and love of kitchens and cooking to Galveston. We appreciate you and your efforts to bring family & friends together in the kitchen and making houses become homes.

I brought my parents to Galveston to have lunch and sight see as the weather is nice this time of year. We noticed the store as we left Star Drug and decided to have a like. My wife loves all things«chicken» and we were thinking about purchasing some of the chicken decorations from the shop as some of them have price tags but some do not. When I asked if I could purchase one of the ones in the from window I was told they were for display only. I was ok with that and we continued looking around. I then noticed another one, made of wire, on a shelf in the back of the store and decided it was worth asking again as some of them are for sale and this time the lady became very inconvenienced(and In a rude tone) firmly told me that none were for sale. I almost felt embarrassed so I decided to politely walk outside and let my parents continue looking. After my mother purchased a wine accessory we left. In the 40 plus years I have lived in this area I cannot remember a time I was treated this way on the island.

A cute little store a short walk from the main Strand area. It was nice to browse through. The prices weren’t too bad and the owner was very nice. If I lived close it would be cool to do the cooking classes.

Missed cooking classes but the cook in you or one you meet will need something from this store. A boon to Galveston, exception is only the paybyphone nonsense to park and browse. Much more fun to linger in here than a Williams & Sonoma. Could get crowded but the cheerfulness that abounds in this shop will make you smile. Little items for packing away, a wedding gift or a splurge of gastronomical proportion can be had here. Am a wooden spoon collector and even the Art Institute does not carry the spoons I found here. Pricey but typical of a shop of this quality.

This was one of the best stores we found on a trip to Galveston. And it’s a local business! So many neat things inside, you just really have to browse. The owner also wrapped our purchases with extra care to ensure they would make it home in one piece. We will be back!

Kitchen Chick is a quaint, kitchen supply shop on The Strand that offers various cooking, baking, and grilling tools. Although a small shop, there is a wide variety of inventory. The owner was extremely friendly and chatted with us about some of the products and the cooking classes. The cooking classes sound great and they have so many options. I really can’t wait to come and try one of the classes, especially one of the Saint Arnold Patio Party Series!

Love, love, love this little shop in downtown Galveston near the Strand, and the proprietor is precious and helpful… and knows(and uses) her stuff. This was a welcome change from the Williams and Sonoma and Sur le Table stores. Don’t get me wrong… I like those stores. But The Kitchen Chick has some merchandise I haven’t seen in those. I couldn’t live without the Mason & Cash bread baking set and will go back(yes, that’s right, drive back to Galveston on this road trip) for the terra cotta bread form. I checked the Internet and her prices on these items are reasonable. But I’d pay a few bucks extra just to support a cool small biz owner AND get to pick up and hold some interesting gadgets. Even my husband was entertained!

Great shop and new items are always being added. They have everything and anything you need to make your kitchen magic happen. They also offer cooking classes in a variety of cuisines. I have attended three of the Italian cooking classes and have loved every single one. Check this place out! Alicia, the owner, can help you find whatever you need.

What an awesome find! Show-stopping fun! Full disclosure-I have not been in the store but rather dealt with their owner, the amazing Alicia, and her ability to pull together a private cooking class in no time. I booked a business meeting in Galveston for 16 people… and had never been to Galveston. Apparently this cute and quaint town basically shuts down during the week at around 6 pm. I was scrambling to find a «team type» activity and stumbled on the Kitchen Chick’s website and saw they did cooking classes. After contacting Alicia she suggested an in-home private cooking class/demonstration/delicious dinner party! It was done in a friend of her’s private home(Linda was the host) and facilitated by the amazing Italian chef(Lada sp?). It was relaxed, informative, and delicious. My co-workers said it was the best time they had at a meeting/function in the time they could remember. We were hosted as if we were Royalty. Alicia is awesome! Thank you so much for making my meeting team event amazing and I look forward to coming back to visit your store and doing some shopping!

Such a cute place to visit on my weekend trip to Galveston! It was one of the few places still open on the strand while we were walking around, and by open she really did have the door open welcoming us in to the small but cozy cake smelling shop. Despite it being closing time, Alicia was super laid back and not in a hurry at all. The shop is lined with great cooking tools and a little bit of everything you might need. Not variety like you’d find in department stores of course, but the best quality around. We had a great time talking to her about all things foodie-I’ll come up with a better term for that eventually, eh– the top restaurants in Houston, Galveston, NOLA, and experiences and best chefs. It’s so fun to find someone that read the same food websites I do! I’ll definately go back and visit and hope she takes some of my Houston reccomendations. Another plus? Bf and I both walked out with some raw vegan cookies she sells to benefit children in Haiti before leaving in search of dinner. At least I managed to save most of mine for dessert :)

Adorable shop with a super friendly owner. They have many specialty items. Higher price then some places, but it’s a local shop and that’s to be expected in a tourist town. We support our locals, so I stop in whenever I can.

Adorable kitchen items! I was surprised when I saw the variety of paper straws they carried since I had been looking everywhere for those a few months back!

This is a great store to find those cooking and baking needs that you want but don’t want to drive to the mainland to get them. There is a great selection of items and if you don’t see something that you need just let the owner, Alicia, know and she can order it for you. Happy Shopping!
