Pretty cool to be able to explore a ship that was built in 1877 right here in Galveston! Walking through the ship is fun but goes by quickly, so I’d recommend checking out the museum inside also. The Galveston Historical Foundation also hosts fun different events on The Elissa throughout the year which are worth checking out!

Cool restoration Going on. Don’t go in the morning too many volunteers on the ship to really be able to walk around and see everything. Seems like ever picture I took had someone in the background I did not know. A little pricey to walk on the ship for about 20 minutes but I guess it goes to a good cause.

The ship was in good repair, however the person selling the tickets was in less than a stellar mood. It was hot, and humid, and the museum seemed a bit bare in its exhibits. Still not a bad excursion, especially if you love tall ships.

Brought our kids here and enjoyed seeing the ship. It was great that you could walk around and explore a good bit of the ship, though it wasn’t as big as I had expected.

Lovely tour of the Official Tall Ship of Texas!!! You can also take a dolphin your if the bay. It’s a good deal. Great for kids to connect to the past.
