The lady at the front desk was awesome. Room was clean. Those are the positives. The coffee stuff was opened so I didn’t drink anything. Couldn’t take breakfast back to the room which is ok I suppose. The tv in the room was like a tablet. Fat people upstairs made noise all night. Oh and the pillows were like rocks.

Nice rooms. Well kept and clean. Wood laminate flooring was a nice touch. Friendly and helpful staff.

We stayed for my sister’s wedding weekend. Not worth the high rate I was charged. I’ve slept better camping in a tent. Bugs in the shower, low water pressure, and the lighting was terrible. I had to move a lamp to the bathroom so I could put make up on before the wedding. The curtain didn’t close all the way so the street light was shining on our faces until I pinned the curtains together. Waste management loudly empties the dumpster out front at 5am. My parents were in the room next door and they were locked out of their room the night of the wedding. The main key holder left with all of the keys so they had to sleep in another room when all their stuff was in another room. The thing that really upsets me is a pair of my favorite earrings did not make the trip back with me and when I called, the guy who answered was not helpful; just said«nothing was turned in» instead of checking with house keeping and calling me back. Again, not worth the outrageous rate I was charged. I will not stay at another Super 8 again.

The lady at the front desk is really sweet. She let me check in early, and the room is clean, pretty, and has fresh linens. The only problem is the TV is a really old school box TV that gets pretty bad reception and the AC doesn’t really work. My room is hot and stuffy. I would ask for a different one but they didn’t have any others. Overall it’s okay. Maybe just needs a smidge of maintenance/upgrades on the electronics.

Came for a last minute weekend getaway with the hubs and three kids. No planning just«hey last day of school, let’s kick it off right and go to Galveston». So we arrived around 10:00pm after driving 8-ish hours from the DFW area and went straight to the beach for some night swimming. The hubs was tired and decided he didn’t want to drive back to Texas City for more reasonably priced accommodations. We checked out a couple of pricey hotels in the area then landed here. The lobby was clean and nothing screamed trashy at me. The pool(visible from the lobby) was small but decent looking. The front desk worker was nice and gave us a discount on a room with two king sized beds at $ 94/night to accommodate my three kids well. We got to our room and were impressed with how clean it looked. No carpet but wood floors, no funky smells, clean appearing beds, and cool ac = happy overnight sleepers! Only problems were the beds were hard as rocks! I like soft and fluffy beds though… The bathroom needed a little work, it was hard to keep the shower curtain in place while showering so after the three littles took their turns in the shower the floor was soaked! The hubs tried to watch tv while we were getting ready for bed but the remote wouldn’t work and the only channel that would come in was a Hispanic channel. He wasn’t too happy but hey it was one night and we weren’t gonna do more than sleep. Haven’t checked out the continental breakfast yet but it didn’t look like more than muffins, cereal, and yogurt. Anywho, probably won’t stay here again if we come back but it wasn’t terrible for the night we were here.

Horrible. Walking into the room, we were greeted with a huge wave of mildew stench. Bugs in the shower. Cloth shower curtain. And finding a bug in the bed after waking up in the morning is absolutely disgusting.

Even one star is too good for this place. We booked this place for 3 nights but we could barely stand it for just one. The room was tolerable… Could have been cleaner but it was tolerable. The ants in the bathroom though were just awful. This was a bad sign for sure… The a/c in our room went out in the middle of the night. It was stifling, hot and terribly uncomfortable seeing as how this was mid August in Galveston, TX! My husband called the front desk to see if anyone could help us. We have 2 babies who were very unhappy. A person from the front desk came out to confirm that YES it was broken and YES it was indeed hot in our room. He said he’d see what he could do. He called us back to tell us that the manager would give us a refund for the night if we left right then. It was 2AM and we had no where to go. We had no choice but to stay the night. The manager also complained that why is it we chose 2AM to call about the a/c and why didn’t we call sooner. I guess we woke him up! Well the damn A/C didn’t break down till the middle of the night! A maintenance guy was called but we refused him because our kids were already upset by the hot room. We didn’t need a stranger in our room at that hour to make matters worse. We asked for another room and were told they were full. We asked for a discount for the night and were told the manager will not approve any discount under any circumstances and that OH by the way, the offer for the full refund was«off the table» now since maintenance had been called. Wow!!! Unbelievable. So had we decided to leave that night after all we would have had to pay full price anyway. Needless to say, we checked out as soon as possible that morning and found out the hotel had already charged us for the full 3 days and that our refund could be expected within 5 to 7 days!!! So we are out roughly $ 400 for 5 – 7 days more! Never again will we stay at any Super 8, especially in Galveston. We went to La Quinta and finished out our stay there! Loved it!
