Dropped by and had the fried shrimp PO-boy, chili cheese tots, regular tots, and shrimp/chicken gumbo– we really liked everything! Hot, not over fried, and everything was fresh!

Fresh, fresh, fresh shrimp poboys! It was awesome and all for $ 7. My wife had the crab cake burger and that was great as well. Highly recommend! Don’t get discouraged by the looks outside. Inside is really clean and well kept. Owners are really nice.

Found this gem on the west end for dinner. Family owned, very friendly, and they offer a simple menu with outstanding prices. Our food came out hot fresh and the owners made sure we were happy with everything. We will be back for hamburgers at lunch.

Came here on Wednesday, 6÷8÷16 and had crab cakes, gumbo, blackened shrimp poboy, and okra. Everything was wonderful! Even the cocktail sauce was yummy. It did not disappoint. We didn’t have to wait too long either. Everyone was really nice.

This place is the BOMB.COM! The place is cute with colorful décor and everything looks brand new, brightly lit and hospital-grade clean. Cindy is so friendly and the guys in the back are super cool and hardworking. You can tell everyone who works there loves their job! The food is fresh and amazing and keeps you coming back for more. I’ve had almost everything on the menu by now and I can safely say it’s all delicious! Try the cheeseburger or fish po-boy. The prices are extremely reasonable and the portions are huge! All in all one of the best places on the island for a quick bite. Definitely worth a visit. Five stars because I can’t give more. Keep it up guys!

This sandwich shop is a gem of Galveston! The owners can always be seen and working hard to give the customers the ultimate mom and pop sandwich shop — and everyone is super friendly! Our family regular orders from here because the prices are phenomenal, the staff & owners are incredibly nice, and the food is INCREDIBLE! I’m a New Orleans style po boy snob, and this place takes the cake. Just like in the Big Easy, the po boys are fresh, delicious and toppings are included! I usually get the fried shrimp, but I’ve had the blackened fish, fried fish & roast beef and they are all amazing. I’ve also had their gumbo which is awesome, and I always make sure to get a sack of fries because they are fresh, crispy and delicious. My nephews(5yr &2yr) love the personal pizzas, too, so bring the kids! Although I usually get my order to go because I live right down the block, the restaurant itself is always super clean, well stocked with all goods and condiments, and I notice that locals are the common customers, meaning this is a great place to avoid the annoying tourist crowd. Also, the owner(Cindy I think her name is) is involved in the community, always ready to help with a community project and she remembers everyone’s face! Such a sweetheart! Overall — if you’re a local, you should know about this place and if you don’t, order dinner from there tonight. If you’re a tourist, definitely take a trip over and get an awesome meal from a local mom and pop shop.

I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some po’boys! Family business, the daughter was working the cash register the mom was back in the kitchen. Strip mall was a little sketchy, but cute & clean inside the restaurant. We came today 5÷7÷16 on a Saturday afternoon just after 1pm it was busy, we grabbed the last table. It took just over 45 mins to get our order, which is way too long for counter service(or really anything), but we had time so it wasn’t a huge deal to us, but if you are pressed for time go somewhere else. My fiancé and I both got the fried shrimp poboys they were very good. The only thing I would say they could have used a touch more mayo. We also got the hush puppies and fries, these were fine, I am not a huge fan of crinkle cut fries in general so I’ll just order chips next time. We will definitely be back next time we are on the island. If this restaurant had been open for a year already, I’d give it 3 stars due to the wait time for our food, but since it’s still new and I’ve worked in the restaurant industry and know how hard it can be to work a lunch rush I’ll give them a 4 this time.

Stopped based upon other Unilocal reviews. I chose a grilled shrimp taco. It’s the best shrimp taco ever! Lots of wonderfully seasoned shrimp garnished with fresh lettuce & cucumber & a little ranch dressing. The fried okra side was very light & so good. Staff was very friendly & the sandwich shop was spotless! Totally recommend this wonderful find! YUM!

A great Mom and Pop shop. Place was super clean and the owners were very friendly. We both had shrimp po boys. I had mine grilled and my husband choose fried. Both were tasty. Fried okra as a side was lightly battered and really good. Even the ranch dressing for dipping the okra was tasty. They do not have a liquor license but we were able to take our beers in with us. Great meal for the price.

Such a great find on the island! The restaurant has only been open for a few months and it’s a terrific place to grab a bite. Everything is made fresh and it’s worth the wait. There are a variety of things to order. We ordered a fried shrimp po-boy, crab cakes and a pepperoni pizza. All so good and we were thrilled to find such a wonderful place!

Myself, my girlfriend, and her daughter were visiting Galveston for a fishing trip. We decided to get us something to eat and stumbled across this place. Imagine being an adventurer and stumbling across a lost treasure. This is what this place is. Walk in and the place is clean from top to bottom. The menu is simple. But the food… Sweet baby Jesus. The food is uh-mazing. The po-boy is something out of this World. One taste and I wanted to slap my momma. We all had the shrimp po-boys. The fried has just the right amount of breading and the shrimp are real big succulent pieces. Not that tiny shrimp crap. These pieces are as big as what we fed the sheephead fish when we were fishing. I can’t wait to go back. Next time i am going to order the entire menu just to sample the cooking. I recommend this place to everyone. It is easy on the budget and believe me your stomach will thank you.

So I found this little galveston gem tucked away beside a small gas and grocery store. I never would have suspected that delicious food was only a half mile away from my sister’s apartment. But, alas, this is what fate led me to! As with my other reviews I like to proceed in an orderly fashion, rating and critiquing first impressions, service, menu, food, and an overall summary. Firstly, I was a little surprised at the location and was a little wary at first given that it appears to be in a «rougher» looking strip mall like bunch of food, gas, and grocery shops. Do NOT let this deter you though! When I entered I was pleasantly surprised to find that this restaurant is EXTREMELY clean! Bordering on immaculate. The cleanliness and atmosphere were both superb and it only helped that there was some chill Jack Johnson playing softly in the background. I give it a 5⁄5 for first impressions. The cashier/owner greeted me within seconds of walking in and promptly gave me the rundown on how the menu was layed out. I enjoyed her friendly demeanor and attitude towards customer service and even enjoyed a good conversation with her through the duration of my meal. I recieved my food within 5 minutes and that is considering the sandwiches are all made fresh the moment you order it(I.e: they had to hand batter and fry it before placing it on the sandwich.) I give it a 5⁄5 for service. It’s not often a proprietor makes you feel like a friend. Next the menu. They have a large board overlooking the counter as well as to-go menus on the counter for you to take home. It’s a very straight-forward, no-frills menu. Drinks are the standard soda and water assortment and are available individually in cans. All chilled. They have shrimp and fish po-boys, southern or Cajun gumbo, personal pizzas, crab cakes, various other dishes and a healthy assortment of appropriate sides such as fries, tater tots, chips, etc. I was impressed how expansive the menu was considering they are such a new and small business. This was a nice surprise as you would essentially never have to get the same thing twice. 4⁄5 for selection and layout. *another surprise was the freshness of the seafood. I was given a personal guarantee of the freshness of the fish and that none of their seafood is ever bought frozen. * On to the food! I ordered a fried fish po’ boy on white hoagie with lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, with no sauce and a side of fries. In hind sight I should have put some sort of condiment on it as it was just a tad on the dry side but I blame myself for that and not the establishment. The fresh fried fish was perfectly fried to a golden crisp and not over done or dark like many other places have done before. The homemade batter was delicious and needed only a dash more of salt but I’ll leave the saltiness of food up to personal preference as anyone who cooks knows it differs drastically from person to person. Overall the sandwich tasted fresh and delicious. I was not disappointed in any way with my po’ boy! Next, I ordered the southern shrimp and crab gumbo to go. I took the half mile drive home before tasting the still piping hot, fresh, gumbo. It is delicious! The gumbo was well seasoned and the portion size is perfect. I only tasted a few bites and opted to save it for my father who’s a bit of a gumbo connoisseur. From my tasting it is superb and much more reasonably priced than the $ 20 gumbo of the downtown Gumbo Bar here in town. I give it 5⁄5 on food. For my overall a summary, all I have to say is good job Cindy! You’re restaurant is fantastic in every sense and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and our conversation. Please keep up the good work and keep serving good food. I, for one, will be returning to your restaurant whenever I am in town. Both for the food and conversation. The Seafood Sandwich Shop earns every bit of the 5 stars I give it!

Decided to try this place out when I noticed it driving by the other day. It’s on the west end in Campeche cove, so not on the tourists radar at all. Very clean, modestly decorated. Just saw a couple of people working there, so very much a mom and pop shop. Wait for my fried shrimp PO-boy was about 10 minutes, but well worth it, and I didn’t think was long at all. The shrimp were not over-battered and you could tell they were fresh. The bread was soft and the veggies fresh. Prices are very good. Definitely going to be going back.

This is a good mom and pop sandwich shop that is an excellent place for lunch. You will need a long lunch though as they make everything after ordering and it takes a while. It took about ten minutes to get my blackened fish po boy and okra. Now to the food. The blackened fish was excellent. The portion was large and filled with flavor. The okra was good but I have had better. The portion was also large. Drinks are in a fridge in cans or bottles. Overall, I would return to get another po boy. But I would try another side. Had the okra been better I would have given this shop five stars.

After reading the great reviews I headed here to cure my craving for a shrimp po boy. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. Just meh. The fried okra was good though! Prices are really good! It takes a while to get your food. A girl came in for take out and was told it would be 15 min. She ordered one sandwich! I would suggest calling in your order so you don’t have to wait.
