Port Of Galveston

We came here by shuttle (Galveston Limo — Shared Shuttle Service. see my review for that!) in a group of 10 people to board the Carnival Freedom. They were very slow and due to some sort of wedding on the ship the embarkation process was approximately an hour late. I should have been able to board early with ‘platinum’ but that didn’t happen which I think was poor planning on their part. Also, we waited in the VIP room for platinum and diamond which had orange juice (all gone) lemonade (all gone) water (all gone) and what looked to be crumbs from pastries (all gone)!!! The paperwork portion went very smooth and quick with no problems. yeah!
The debarkation process went very fast, most of the people were helpful until we neared the end of the port. Then the staff kept telling us to move over here, move over there and we were trying to keep our party of ten all together.
The outside of the port was small and all pickup areas were just steps away which was nice but we had to wait 1−½ hrs for our shuttle and there was NO shade and NO seats which I thought was ridiculous and it was extremely hot and humid and uncomfortable standing that long.
This was definitely the worst port I’ve been to in the U.S. and hopefully they will make improvements

We travel as a hobby and have been through the port many times. Never have we had a reason to complain.
Like a well-​oiled clock the staff at the port ensures your travel is done in the most expedient manner. The law enforcement officers keep traffic moving yet are courteous; the porters are quick yet handle your luggage as if it were their own. The terminal staff are polite and ensure that the lines keep moving (even the Customs and Immigration agents are nice).
The facilities are always clean and tidy, and the heat and air conditioning are monitored to ensure your comfort.
If every port was as nice at this travel would be even more fun!

Lauren is awesome! You need to park at this port because you’re car is safe a secure. We got back from our cruise and our tire was extremely low. Lauren got right on it and we were able to get on the road successfully. Make sure you ask for Lauren… she rocks!!!
