Saturday night 7:30pm we were the only 2 in there on a summer night on a BUSYBUSY street. Seemed odd food was ok, pita bread and most stuff wasn’t homemade, but was hot and tasted good. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here.

I am vegetarian and my wife and son are Vegan. The staff and chef catered to our diet and the food was DELICIOUS! This was one of those meals that you wanted to eat it all but also wanted to save some for later… HIGHLYRECOMMEND… Spanakopita and Mediterranean Salad. They also accommodated my son’s meal. Just a wonderful and delicious experience!

Disappointing. Menu was plentiful but every item we ordered was lackluster with very little flavor. Eggplant lasagna was slimy and overloaded with ricotta and the tomato sauce tasted like sauce out of a jar or can. The entrée came with a side of roasted potatoes that were not seasoned well and definitely were not fresh. We also ordered a falafel salad and the falafels were served over a bed of wilted, pale, iceberg lettuce. Falafels were totally tasteless and the tzatziki sauce, bland and plain, didn’t help at all. The most flavorful part of the meal was the dill pickle chips on the salad. This restaurant was clean, thus the two stars, but really needs some help making the food better. I guess this would explain why the restaurant was almost completely empty. When you are the only Mediterranean restaurant on the island as one reviewer noted, you really need to step up your game.

By far the best meal I had in Galveston! The gyro was absolutely delicious and the tiramisu was one of the best I ever had! The manager and waiters was very friendly and the food was freshly cooked! Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area!

This was the best Mediterranean I’ve ever had! I loved the atmosphere and the service. When we went, it was very busy so service was a little slow but the owner came to our table and was genuine in telling us why. I ordered the gyro with Greek potatoes. It was amazing! That gyro was the best thing I had on my trip to Galveston! For dessert, me and a friend ordered tiramisu and baklava to split. The baklava was great, but I have no words for the tiramisu! It was super good! If I wasn’t so full, I would’ve ordered more of everything I had! 10⁄10 would recommend!

Stopped by for lunch before the Mardi Gras festivities last month. It was pretty empty considering everyone was lined up outside waiting for the parade to start. There were more people at the bar than at the booths/tables. The host and waiter were nice but not that welcoming. I ordered the lamb gyro and greek style potatoes. It was good, pretty average — I’ve had other gyros with more flavor in the tzatziki. I did love the greek potatoes. Gyros were priced $ 8-$ 10 with potatoes or fries included. The place was not that notable, but because I came out of their full and satisfied, I’d probably come visit again.

The servers were hardworking and friendly but the owner is a class A jerk. When I bit into my Chicken gyro I noticed something hard that almost pierced the roof of my mouth… it ended up being a wooden skewer! When I let the the waiter know he was very concerned and went to tell them owner who happened to be on location. I honestly was not looking for a free meal or anything, I was concerned my food wasn’t the only one with the hazard in it and maybe a simple apology. Instead the guy shrugs his shoulders and says, «This is how we cook it!» He then walks away… needless to say I didn’t finish the food and I’ve never given them another penny!

First customers of the day on Fat Tuesday and an empty restaurant. Service was prompt and friendly, but got yesterday’s Greek potatoes, spanakopita and dolmas. I eat Mediterranean once a week in the Woodlands and know this place could be doing a lot better. Waitresses response to my comment: surprised face and«everything’s fresh.» After that, not a word as she bussed the table or brought me the bill.

While in Galveston for my nephew’s graduation from Texas A&M University, we had a mini-family reunion, with family members from several states in attendance. We would be here for a total of two weeks so we wanted to explore the local eateries. We were down to a group of six and in the mood for something different. So we decided on Greek food — the Mediterranean Chef sounded as thought it would fit the bill nicely. It’s right on the Strand(Avenue B) in the entertainment district. We got there early, arriving about 5PM. It’s a quaint little place and nicely decorated in what could pass for Greek or Mediterranean. The place was almost deserted save two souls at the bar but didn’t let that deter us. It was New Years Day and foot traffic everywhere was noticeably less… The meet, greet, and seat was slightly awkward. We needed a table for six but the other four were still stuck on the ferry and would be a few minutes longer. Our waiter made his way over with menus and flatware. After about 10 minutes, the he was a bit impatient but we assured him they would be here momentarily. A few moments later the group was assembled and orders were placed. I had the Gyros Platter, my wife the Mixed Grill Kebabs so we would share both entrees. We also ordered a small Greek salad to share. Both dinners came with one side — a choice of potatoes or rice or veggies, which I thought odd — most places give potatoes or rice AND veggies. Oh yes, there was flat bread… But not very much of it. The food arrived within a reasonable timeframe but was not as hot as it should be. They plated everything on cold plates… definitely a detractor as it cooled the foods down quickly. While the salad was delicious and reasonably portioned, I found the Gyros Platter on the salty side for my taste, and the portion skimpy compared other Greek type restaurants I have been to. The Mixed Grill Kebabs were generous enough in size, and while the shrimp on the one skewer was tasty enough, the beef was chewy and tough, and the chicken dry and overcooked. Consensus around the table… The Chicken Grecca was excellent, the other three selections only etched out a «good». All in all, this is place is not a do-over for us. We had high hopes and left feeling more than a little disappointed. We decided on desert elsewhere.

Went for the first time today and it was not a good experience. The only reason we decided to try it out was because of a $ 2.00 off coupon on their website. To begin, the service was bad. The server was unfriendly and very slow, although the restaurant was not busy at all. We ordered our drinks as soon as sitting down, and it wasn’t brought out until we FINISHED our meal. The only good thing was that the manager came by to check on us. The food… They do have a pretty big menu with variety and they have their own specialties, but I’ve certainly have had much better Mediterranean food. It was microwaved — you can even see them microwaving it in the back through the kitchen door! The food was cold, soggy, and the tomato sauce was like water. The pita bread was obviously store-bought. Although this is what my partner and I both experienced with our meals, I can’t say it is the same for every menu item. Nevertheless, the food is far overpriced. There are very few good things about this place, but the bad things strongly outnumber them. It is not a place I would like to return to. I would suggest a different restaurant.

Quaint place:) the staff is really nice and family like:) the place is clean-even the bathroom-(rare on the strand) the food is excellent. Had the gyro supreme with chicken, lamb and beef. No detail is ignored. The meat was amazing:) the salad that came with it was a good portion and very fresh. Well done!!!

I only ordered for take-out but wouldn’t return based off that experience alone. Ordered about $ 30 worth of food and showed them their $ 2 off coupon on my phone that is publicly available. They were adamant that I had to print it off. I asked them why, because all I’m doing is wasting paper. They said they have to keep track of the coupons… If you look on the website there is no bar code or identifier and I would bet they throw the paper right out. Essentially when I tried to avoid printing out a coupon, they wanted to avoid giving me the $ 2 so badly. I love Mediterranean food but they cost themselves more than $ 2 in the long run for this stunt since I won’t be there again. Oh, and the food wasn’t very good, especially the fatoush. Avoid this place.

Great little spot we found on the strand. They have a wonderful Greek salad with the freshest tasting feta cheese. Hubby and I split the Mousska & Gyro Platter. Yum! Even great music playing in the background.

The last time I ate here was a real disappointment. I had eaten here several times in the past and, up to that point, had been very satisfied. I brought my daughter and granddaughter to Galveston for the day and decided to drop in. The meal was mediocre at best, but the real problem came afterward when checking my credit card charges. They had double-billed my card for two different amounts in two separate transactions. One of the charges was correct, but the second had absolutely nothing to do with our meal. I contacted the restaurant but never came to a satisfactory resolution. Will never go back.

Ordered a grilled chicken burger… not a meal you can do wrong. When our food came out my burger had two ends of the bread and my friend’s plate had two tops. The third plate had mayo even though we asked to only have mustard. Older gentleman came by our table asked us how our food was. I tell him and he says«oh well they are busy in the back» Just a disappointment. Waited around to get our ticket. Our waitress did not check on us very much.

Great food! Consistently good all the time. I had the Combo Platter, which has hummus, baba ganoush, falafel patties, dolmas, and the best tabouli around! I have also had the gyro platter, which is also great. Gyro meat cooked to perfection over a bed of rice and served with a small side salad.

Amazing chicken kabobs and gyros. I don’t know why anyone would complain about this place. Everything was so good. The marinated chicken seasoning was delicious. Cooked just right, so juicy.
