Definitely not as bad as many reviews say. I had no trouble with dirty floors or beds, nor was the bathroom moldly. Towels were thin but you get what you pay for and when we stayed this was the cheapest hotel on . A couple reviews mentioned being able to see in windows, the curtain was totally able to cover the whole window. Although I admit at first I was worried that I would have to stare outside all night, but like I said good curtains. The room had a mini fridge and microwave which was nice. And it was right across the street from the ocean which was really great. Overall a good place to sleep before our cruise.

You get… what you pay for, this was a perfectly acceptable room with an amazing view for half the price of neighboring units. Staff was on site and courteous but we had no issues. Sure, its not an amazing room but when at the beach how often are you really in the room? Bed was clean, room was clean, old, but clean. Shower worked great and they had nice TV. Room darkening curtains could be opened for am amazing view of water. I would not hesitate to stay here again, in fact, planning another trip soon as it was so relaxing and tranquil at Galveston. I’d rather spend my money on fun activities and a sensible room.

Hmmm, I guess people have different standards to mine. It’s not like I needed a 4 star place to stay at, seeing as how I wasn’t even in the room most of the time, However, for $ 90/night, I definitely feel that this hotel is shy off the mark. Pros: Yes, it is RIGHT across from the beach(on the seawall), so that is very nice. We walked back and forth many times.(Also right by Pleasure Pier). There is also a little bar right next door. The room had a mini fridge and microwave in it and a decent TV. Free wifi. Bed was comfy enough as well. There was a little hair dryer in the bathroom. AC was a window unit, but did keep the room very cool the whole time. Cons: It is very small. Tiny rooms and miniscule bathrooms. All the rooms are smoking rooms, so even if you don’t smoke, be prepared to deal with a room that smells of smoke at all times. Shower was stand-up only. My friend is 6’4″ and he had some issues with it being too short for him. Rooms are«clean» I guess, and it’s not just that it is «older» but cheap quality everything and not the nicest of ambiances at all.(The shower curtain was gross looking and stained). And everything in the bathroom just seemed stained and old as well. The did come to clean our room but didn’t fold up my blankets I brought myself or wipe down the nightstands. Places like this always make me concerned over how clean the linens are, so I always bring and use my own. I can’t comment on the«breakfast» or coffee, because we didn’t try theirs. So, there you have it. It is right on the beach. If you just don’t care and want to be close to the beach, sure, go ahead and stay here. But again, for close to $ 100 a night, I really think this place is grossly over priced. I am putting«pricey» as the price point, because I definitely do not think you get any value for your money on this place.

Privately owned hotels usually make up for high class amenities by good hospitality and good prices. NOT this one. The first room we were in had an ugly black mold growing in the bathroom, broken fixtures, dirty walls, and a very unpleasant odor. When we complained the staff didn’t seem to care. After showing 3 staff members that the shower didn’t even work we were finally moved to a different room. The second room was the same as the first but the shower did work and there was less mold but it still stank. There is a huge billboard in the middle of the grounds that lights up the rooms all night making hard to sleep. The staff is rude, the continental breakfast is a joke and there are no coffee makers in the rooms. If your looking for a quality place with good prices this is not it.

This place is so plain, It’s one story and anyone walking by can look right in the windows. There are other hotels to choose.
