Its not 5 star but it’s comfortable. I come for galveston not the hotel, but this place the staff was amazing, housekeepers absolutely wonderful. They even folded our blankets we brought and went above and beyond for our room. The golf and the pool makes for wonderful first start or end of the day entertainment. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds very comfortable(after my roll over car accident and surgeries this was important) My kids had a blast. If youre high maintenance I wouldn’t recommend this place, this place is for the kind of people who enjoy life and living it. Not for the type of people who need designer sheets and 5 star dining. My kids and I will be back next month!!!

DONOT and I repeat DONOT stay at this hotel. My husband and I’s anniversary was this last weekend and we had found this room at a $ 182.00 rate for spring break weekend. The check in time was for 3pm and we arrived at 230pm and was told our room was not yet ready, which was completely fine. We came back at 315pm and was told our room still wasn’t ready and it would be at least another 30 minutes before we could get in our room. My husband and I decided to park outside the room and wait. At this time we watched as the housekeeper casually got to the room and lit up a cigarette while on the cell phone and began cleaning our NONSMOKING room. Finally she would done around 430pm. As we went to go to our room she told us we needed to wait a few more minutes because she needed to plunge our toilet because it was not flushing… Later that evening After that we got into our room. The rooms are OK at best. Larger rooms, hard bead and of course our toilet still did not work. We called front desk and explained to them the toilet was not working still and got a very rude lady who told us that she would have to find a plunger and when she did instructed my husband to come and get it himself and fix it. We did just that and still our toilet didn’t work. We had given up and decided to go to sleep. The walls are very thin and we could easily hear the people upstairs stomping around, weird loud pipe noises and people yelling at the putt putt course(by the way the putt putt course does not look like the picture all the greens are complete tore up) All in all we will not be staying here ever again. I would take your money elsewhere and pay a little more for something less crappy.

You can get some cheap rates at this hotel, and you’ll get what you pay for. They have two buildings, and we were assigned the adjacent(and not connected) second building. The pros: Cheap Free parking, including covered under the adjacent building Friendly front-desk staff Free breakfast in the lobby(also see cons below) Free miniature golf course on-site(also see cons below) Within walking distance to the Jungle Café, which had a decent breakfast for a good price The adjacent/second building has all interior-facing doors, so it’s more like a hotel in that respect vs. the typical motel-feel of the main building’s rooms with doors facing the outside The cons: The free breakfast in the lobby was sparse the one day we even considered it(cereals, juices and pancakes… no eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, muffins, or waffles) The free miniature golf course out front is in SERIOUS need of repair. Every hole has torn up AstroTurf, so if you’re going to promote it as a selling point, you should be willing to take on the upkeep The cleaning crew never smiled or seemed at all welcoming, which I know sounds petty, but when I smile at them, it’d be nice for them to return the favor I know I’m in the VERY slim minority, but offering a place to plug in my electric car would have been nice(I’m not talking about an expensive fast-charging station; rather, just a standard plug for an overnight trickle charge somewhere in the parking lot)

A bit overpriced for what you get. The lady behind the counter was rude and impatient.

The hotel is fine. Nothing fancy. Rooms are comfortable. A good find if you are staying on a budget. Would recommend if you are trying to stay below $ 75.00 a night.

I gave this place 2 stars because I suppose it could’ve been worse… But this is by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I had to book here because the hotel where I was having a work conference was completely booked so I chose the closest place to it thinking no big deal I’m only here 3 nights. — paper thin walls… I expected to hear some stuff but not every conversation in the hallway, doors slamming, the tv in the room next to me, the elevator chime when it’s on the floor, and not to mention above me must be a herd of elephants moving furniture around. — stains on the carpet in the room — the rooms aren’t cleaned properly by the service. I came back from my conference yesterday to new trash liners and my bed made. But the bathroom counters were not touched nor were the floors cleaned. There was still makeup powder in the sink from that morning, so it was obvious what they did and didn’t clean. I also took a shower and turned around to see a small hair stuck to the wall(not mine, seeing as how that was the first time I set foot in the shower) so who knows how long that had been there or how long the shower had gone without proper cleaning. — I also got quoted a price over the phone for being tax exempt and when I checked in the price was different according to the woman at the desk. — parking is great and close and the location is close to where I need to be… But definitely not worth what I payed to stay here. When I say this place could’ve been worse I mean it could’ve been run down with bugs all over the place or a bunch of crack heads/prostitutes staying for the night… But since it wasn’t THAT awful I gave it two stars. Ps, as I’m writing this I was trying to lie down because I had a headache… But unfortunately could not rest well due to the herd of elephants I previously mentioned moving furniture above me. Literally… every. Step.

We got a great price through at $ 125 /night during the Labor Day weekend and so I was excited to arrive. The appearance is cute enough… Any Islander will tell you that keeping paint bright is a constant battle in salt air so I was not disappointed that the hotel looked a bit tired. Cute, though, nonetheless. Check in was a breeze, and loading in was equally simple. The room. Two double beds, TV, microwave, mini fridge, desk, dining table, and plenty of chairs to stay in and enjoy the restful part of a vacation… and as someone else said, if your expectations aren’t too high, this is a great room. It has everything. Having said that… @ there were stains on the furniture(the kind that looked like they might reveal DNA information on someone) @ we pulled a fresh towel from the rack to find a mascara stain on the back @ the 2nd day we were there, they never came to clean the room or bring fresh towels. We had to call and ask when we got back from running around The Strand. @ we sprayed eachother down with aerosol sunblock so it was obvious that they never cleaned the floor @ free breakfast had no protein of any kind but all the carbs you could wish for… and not a single clean table either of the mornings we attempted to eat. Coffee was NOT good. Last but by all means NOT least, @ interior walls thin as paper. Ext walls were great, we never heard the outside noises, but our neighbors on all sides were quite evident. Elephants playing soccer with the furniture were installed in the room above us, and every shift of the wooden chairs on the tile floors around us made the walls emit an almost Farting-like noise.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. It’s very convenient for the plans we had. As long as your expectations aren’t high, you’ll be satisfied. Employees were okay, room was okay, pool was okay. Internet worked fine. TV was on/off. Breakfast was nothing special and very crowded.

We were booked for 3 nights. It is a super cute little hotel. Painted in bright island colors with neat shutters on the inside of the windows. The room was very very spacious. There was a separate area with a table, desk, mini fridge, and microwave. The other part of the room had 2 double beds and a chair with ottoman. The bathroom was fine. There was a plumbing access panel that was wide open and wouldn’t close. There was a very small stand up shower, no tub. I’m 5’3,” and I could stand with my back to the shower wall and reach out and touch the other shower wall with my palm. The one thing that I really had a problem with was the bed. That bed must have been the cheapest bed they could find. I felt like the springs were going to pop out. It was so uncomfortable! At least the sheets were clean and the pillows were okay. The pool would have been better if it had more shade, but it was a nice size and clean. A little close to the road. We didn’t get down to breakfast, but they do provide a complimentary breakfast. We would stay here again if the price was right.

The Inn at the Waterpark keeps mosquitoes as pets apparently. Galveston is a mosquito hotspot, but the rest of the town seems interested in keeping them in check. This place is a mosquito refuge. You’ll be swarmed by hundreds of them as soon as you open your car door. And no, you won’t escape them inside the building either. They are in the elevators, stairwells and hallways. Bring plenty of deet with you if you decide to brave this place. Other than he mosquitoes, it’s fine.

Holy cow… we stayed on the backside of this hotel for the Gritty Goddess race and we had a HUGE rain storm the evening before. The rain was literally coming thru our front door and our windows. We had to call for extra towels. And they brought them to us… that’s all fine and dandy… but it makes you wonder how often that happens and how moldy that floor must be. Ugh… to think about it makes me totally sick. :( Cute golf course though.

Booked a room on their website only to go to check in and they couldn’t find my reservation. It’s early January so getting a room wasn’t a problem, but would probably be a nightmare during the summer. The room/hotel was clean. Our floor looked like it had just been mopped, but was still wet HOURS later. It was, however, dry when we woke up the next morning. Beds were soft and comfy, but very loud and squeaky. I woke up any time somebody moved. Overall it wasn’t a bad place. Would like a better, quieter bed next time. :)

We had a large group and rented multiple rooms for 3 days over the Columbus Day holiday. This hotel is very old — many things not working properly. Old yucky bedspreads, no tub plug, chips on tile, carpet was awful feeling(sticky) so we all kept our shoes on. I know this one might sound picky, but I am picky about it and will admit that — no half & half only Coffee Mate available for the coffee. All that being said one of our rooms had bed bugs, which in all fairness can be found in very high end hotels too. They did comp the room and moved the group to a room in the new section. The thing that was kind of unsettling though is that they did not seem surprised at the report of bed bugs. I will say that otherwise the staff did seem to be responsive to things we requested. Considering all the above I think the room was definitely NOT worth $ 169 a night. I would say they should be charging more like $ 59. The location is good for Moody Gardens, but there are LOTS of other hotels within a few miles so next time I will stay somewhere else and just drive to my day locations.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. The front door was broken on our first room– they had to take off the hinges to get in and there were 11 dead cock roaches on the floor in our second room. We ended up leaving at 11pm and going to another hotel. The front desk woman said nothing but ‘okay.’

I was in the new section on the stilts. The hall was so hot walking to the room. Once there, the room has the quality of a Motel 6 and is not very clean. There were pubs in my shower which is not cool. I bought some cleaner for the bathroom. I then started reading reviews and there was someone just a few days before me who had an incident with bed bugs. I stripped down our beds and did a detailed once over. There were none where I was, but be careful. When you get this room, you are only paying because it is near Schlitterbahn… that’s all.

We stayed in the new building that is behind the original building. Our room was good. Big room with mini refrigerator and microwave. The beds are ok, but bring your own pillows. The pillow are VERY lumpy! Breakfast is very busy and can be overwhelming. They have your usual free hotel breakfast stuff, cereal, bagel, toast, etc. The breakfast area was small. The location is great if you are going to Moody Gardens or the Waterpark. We didn’t go to either, but stayed here because the price was good. I would not pay this much in other cities, but it is summer in a beach town. Overall I would stay again. Not fancy but functional.

No view but kid friendly and next to Schliltterbahn and Moody Gardens. I got a cheaper rate through than the hotel’s direct sight. There are 2 buildings, old that opens to the outside, but allows for a lot of smokers to stand outside and smoke and hang out on the balcony. The newer part is on stilts and you park below the building, but no balcony so it’s covered parking. We stayed at the newer building and there was an elevator to take you up. I didn’t realize it is 4 stories(well 3 since the first floor is the ground parking). The Jungle West restaurant is next door and part of their pool area. That restaurant’s menu is in the room and they will charge a $ 2 delivery to deliver to your room.(plus tax and tip) or you can just walk over there. We only sampled the weekend morning buffet and it was decent. They cooked the eggs to order and had a buffet of bacon, sausage, grits, but no cold cereal or pancakes or waffles. The buffet was $ 8 and drinks were extra. It was decent. Our room faced the airport but it was fairly quiet with few takeoffs and mostly just helicopters. There were a lot of kids, in the halls in the rooms so if you don’t like kids, this place is not for you. The newer part does not have any sort of balcony. The room was fairly large and it’s a decent place to stay.

One of the best, if not THEE best, deal on Galveston lodging. The rooms are pretty cheap as it is but you can get 10% off through the Unilocal app. Book in advance through the link on the business Unilocal page and get 20% off. My room came out to $ 69(2 Queen beds). The rooms are really nice and very clean. All non-smoking. There are two sinks and restrooms come with pretty decent organic products. Free continental breakfast. Also, free putt putt and pool towels. Total score.

Keep in mind the hotel had 2 parts to it the older and the new one on hurricane stilts. The first night we stayed in the older section and it was horrendous… carpet was soiled, toilet wouldn’t flush, and tub wouldn’t drain. I think there was a prostitute who rented the room next door as there were people coming and going all night long. I was there for a 5 night stay and nearly checked out after day 1. They moved me to the newer recently built building which was like night and day. Very clean room and functioning perfectly. If you stay here you will want to request the new building. FYI

Inn at the waterpark is nice. For a motel. Honestly coming from a traveler, you shouldn’t not pay more than $ 70 based on room quality. Lacks general cleanliness that a hotel would have. Basically the Inn is a revamped and remodeled motel that was probably a motel 6 or la Quinta type motel prior. I honestly wouldn’t stay there again because of quality and would not take my kids or wife there. The reason for 2 stars is solely due to the one positive. The location! It’s literally half a minute from moody gardens and a water park so if you can sacrifice a crappier room for better location. This might be your cookie.
