I lived in Houston most of life and just recently found out about Galveston’s Historic Downtown. From what I have heard, this place was severely damaged by Hurricane Ike. It is a lot better now and you can’t even tell that it was damaged.
Galveston’s Historic Downtown is a nice place to visit when you are in the area. On the weekends, there is live music and some street performers and painters.
There are some small restaurants, coffee stores, clothing stores, and souvenir shops.
You can also see the Carnival Cruise Ships from Galveston’s Downtown. I have heard great things about the cruise and will definitely give it a try one day!
